Chapter 293 - Time Flower, Moving House

Chapter 293:

November 20th.

The sky was just beginning to lighten.

The large villa was completely finished, but it needed a few days of open windows to air out.

During this period, the construction team borrowed a few Aromatisse.

He said they were to release fragrant scents to dissipate the smell of the construction materials.

Actually, many of Hayashi Kaede's Pokémon knew moves that could do this too.

Like Steenee, or Alcremie.

But since they borrowed Aromatisse, Hayashi Kaede was happy to let his own Pokémon take it easy.

Today was the day to deliver the wine to Giratina.

After breakfast, Hayashi Kaede used his psychic abilities to carry a barrel of Grepa Berry Wine, along with some wine chocolates, to the reservoir.

He gently tapped the water's surface.

Soon, the water turned pitch black, and a pair of eyes flickered within, faintly visible.

"Here, this is the wine for these past few days. I'm tossing it in now!"

The water surface rippled slightly.

Hayashi Kaede couldn't help but smile, then threw the barrel and the chocolates into it.

The barrel was swallowed up, quickly disappearing without a trace.

The water began to slowly clear again.

"Hey, don't leave so fast."

Hayashi Kaede lightly tapped the water surface again.

The water seemed to hesitate for a moment, but still cleared up.

Giratina had left anyway.

"Still so aloof."

Hayashi Kaede muttered the complaint but didn't dwell on it.

Although Giratina was still that aloof, its friendship value had actually been gradually increasing.

"One day, I'll be able to enter and leave the Reverse World as I please!"

Hayashi Kaede made this grand declaration beside the reservoir!

Then he planned to go home and lounge.

It was winter; he didn't like wandering outside much, preferring to lie on the sofa holding Growlithe.

Mainly because Alolan Ninetales was icy cold, otherwise he'd prefer holding the ethereal-looking Alolan Ninetales.

Sigh~

If only it were summer. He couldn't even imagine how great it would be in summer, having Alolan Ninetales behind him, lying back against it. How amazing that would be!

Too bad it was winter, and Growlithe hadn't evolved yet.

(There's a situation in the garden.)

Just as Hayashi Kaede was heading towards the Breeding House, a wave of Aura suddenly reached him.

He paused mid-step.

Although he wondered what situation could possibly be in the garden, he quickly walked over.

Passing the barn, he entered the garden.

Unlike the vibrant bloom of summer, now the garden only had some morning glories stubbornly climbing the built frames, adding a touch of color.

Then there was the pasture grass and the mutated flowers growing around the garden's perimeter.

The rest of the area was just empty and bare.

In summer, Alolan Vulpix loved burrowing through the pasture grass because it carried the scent of flowers.

In winter, after it became bare, it rarely came here anymore.

On the empty ground, Serperior was staying in one corner of the garden.

The Aura from earlier had been transmitted by it.

Hayashi Kaede walked over. "What's up?"

"Serperior..." (Look at this.)

Serperior motioned for Hayashi Kaede to look at a flower beside it.

Hayashi Kaede looked over and his expression froze.

What was growing on the ground looked less like a flower and more like a stone.

It was composed of petal-like rock segments, each with vein-like stripes so fine they resembled blood vessels.

The flower's appearance felt somewhat familiar to Hayashi Kaede, but he couldn't quite recall what it was immediately.

It wasn't until he used [Eye of Exploration] on it,

that he exclaimed in surprise, "A Time Flower?"

[Time Flower – A companion flower of the World Tree, born alongside it. Capable of recording events that have occurred.]

"It grew here?"

"Serperior?"

Serperior looked at Hayashi Kaede, puzzled.

This flower wasn't something it had cultivated; it seemed to have just sprouted on its own, suddenly.

"This is a Time Flower..."

Hayashi Kaede explained the function of the Time Flower.

"Serperior?" (Then it doesn't seem all that impressive...)

Serperior found it somewhat uninteresting.

If it's about recording life, wouldn't having Rotom record a video or just taking a photo be better?

The photos taken in Budo Town were even developed by Hayashi Kaede and placed inside the house.

"It's not like that."

Hayashi Kaede patted the nearby Serperior and shook his head. "Time is a powerful thing."

"Recorded photos will fade with time, recorded videos will gradually disappear with data corruption. But the blooming of a Time Flower is eternal. As long as the World Tree stands, it will never wither. This means, even if one day, none of us are in this world anymore, there will still be a record here of the life we once lived."

"Serperior..."

Serperior nodded, recalling bits from past life, and felt a little emotional too.

Hayashi Kaede didn't pay excessive attention to this Time Flower.

Instead, he called out to Serperior:

"Alright, this probably grew because you've formed a connection with the World Tree. Let's not worry about it for now. Let's head back first. The new house is built, time to start moving the furniture over!"

"Serperior~"

Serperior nodded.

And so, what was originally planned by Hayashi Kaede as moving in a couple of days' time, was moved up to now.

Moving was actually quite simple, because basically any furniture that wasn't too large could be put into storage capsules and transported.

It's just that the bed was a bit big.

But that wasn't a big problem either, because he had bought a new bed.

So the bed didn't need to be moved.

"Gardevoir?" (We're moving now?)

Gardevoir stopped its work and came out of the kitchen, asking softly.

"Yes, let's move some of the scattered items over first! The stuff we have will definitely be insufficient for decorating the new house! We can see what furniture is missing later, so we can buy it early!" Hayashi Kaede said excitedly.

"Gardevoir~" (What you say makes sense.)

Gardevoir agreed with Hayashi Kaede's idea.

It returned to its own room.

Afterwards, Hayashi Kaede went to the Breeding House.

There wasn't much to move in the Breeding House.

Hayashi Kaede didn't plan to change anything outside either.

So, after just a glance around, he returned to the living room.

He started muttering to himself.

"The sofa... seems a bit old... there's still fur on it. Is Growlithe still shedding? Looks like I need to make some non-shedding dishes."

"Let's replace it."

The sofa was too old.

Hayashi Kaede looked around.

The sofa, the display cabinet, the armchair...

These were all old items left behind from when his parents were still here.

Even the light on the ceiling was one he replaced himself three years ago.

By now, the light had also turned somewhat yellowish.

Moving these things into the new house would probably feel out of place.

Hayashi Kaede couldn't help but sigh. "Since we're even changing houses, there's no need to keep these old items. Let's just replace them all."
