Chapter 154 - Chapter 140 : The Mutant Avengers!!

Professor X saw this and his face turned pale as a sheet.

He shouted urgently, his voice trembling, "Don't! Whatever you do, don't shoot!"

Professor X understood better than anyone.

If Magneto were to carry out a massacre so openly at the gates of the White House, the fragile peace between mutants and humans would shatter instantly, plunging them into an endless cycle of conflict.

Magneto let out a cold snort, a trace of disdain and mocking laughter playing on his lips.

"Charles," he said slowly, "this… is all because of you, and the fact that you had Jean Grey save me just now."

After saying this, Magneto ignored everyone else.

The metallic debris at his feet swirled rapidly, drawn together by his magnetic power, forming a simple but sturdy flying device.

With the harsh screech of metal rubbing against metal, he rose into the air, and in the stunned gazes of everyone present, flew into the sky—then disappeared from sight.

With Magneto gone, Professor X finally felt a sense of relief.

He looked toward the White House gates and said firmly, "We are willing to cooperate with all interrogations. This is for the sake of the hard-won peace between mutants and humans."

The soldiers breathed sighs of relief and each took out a pair of handcuffs, ready to detain everyone and bring them in for questioning.

When it was Wolverine's turn, of course, he began to resist.

Yet, under Professor X's gaze, he sighed reluctantly, allowing himself to be cuffed.

Yujin noticed that even Professor X, sitting in his wheelchair, could not escape the handcuffs.

He tilted his head slightly and looked at the soldier approaching him.

"Snap!"

The soldier fell to the ground.

Everyone panicked.

But Yujin showed no sign of stopping.

His hypnotic gaze swept over the approaching soldiers one by one.

These ordinary humans fell like wheat cut down by a scythe, collapsing to the ground.

In the end, only the black officer remained standing.

"You… what are you going to do?!"

"What they do has nothing to do with me."

The tomoe in Yujin's eyes disappeared, and he pulled out the SHIELD ID that Black Widow had given him in advance.

"Sorry, Major, the Department of Homeland Strategic Defense and Logistics is in the middle of defending Earth. Civilians, please leave."

The implication was clear—he was requisitioning the X-Men.

The black officer wiped sweat from his temple. "Th-This… this isn't proper procedure."

Yujin lifted an eyelid lazily. "Then you can fall down too."

With a soft click, all the soldiers fell under his illusion.

Wolverine let out a low growl, snapping his handcuffs open. He looked at Yujin. "Kid, we should grab a drink sometime. I like guys like you!"

Professor X shook his head. "Too impulsive."

At the SHIELD branch in Washington,

Nick Fury stared at the team of X-Men Yujin had brought along, feeling a bit dumbfounded.

"Black Egg" pulled Yujin aside, whispering, "Why did you bring them here?"

"For what? Aren't you trying to assemble an Avengers team? I brought them all at once."

Yujin spoke without turning fully, "Wolverine, injured Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Professor X—five mutants in total. Together, aren't they as formidable as an Abomination?"

"That's true," Nick Fury said quietly. "The higher-ups don't like mutants. They think mutants are a disaster for humanity."

Yujin rolled his eyes at him. "Then tell me, if people gain superpowers from serums, it's a triumph of human technology. But if someone is born a mutant, it's a disaster?

"Feels like you guys are still stuck in the medieval witch-burning era."

Nick Fury opened his mouth to respond, but Yujin interrupted. "Aliens are trying to blow up Earth, and you're still dividing people into mutants and humans? Tell me, then—why did you call me to SHIELD?"

"Because… you're not a mutant," Fury said without thinking.

"Then what am I?"

"You… count as a mysterious monster from the East."

Yujin bared his teeth in a grin. "Keep joking like that, and I'll join HYDRA."

Fury's eyes went wide. "How do you even know about that organization?"

"Heh… in this world, the only thing I don't know is who your father is. Everything else? I know it all."

After a long back-and-forth with Fury, the X-Men finally agreed to cooperate, though Black Egg was far from happy about it.

From then on, the X-Men had to deal with threats from the Brotherhood of Mutants and other villains—and occasionally serve as SHIELD's external support.

The X-Men weren't working for nothing.

S.H.I.E.L.D. would provide the latest aircraft for the X-Men to use.

Besides that, both sides would share intelligence.

As for how long this alliance would last, that was no longer Yujin's concern.

As long as they could survive the Thanos crisis, the rest was out of his hands.

Logan looked around the research department, curious about everything.

Behind him, Black Widow's figure moved quickly, seemingly uninterested in this mutant appearing at S.H.I.E.L.D.

She walked through the halls until she reached an unassuming room.

Passing a retina scan, she entered through a secure door.

Her hands brushed elegantly along the walls until she arrived at the control room.

From her body, she took out a USB drive and inserted it into the main terminal.

The Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters was located in a grand estate in Westchester, New York.

It had originally been Professor Xavier's home, later converted into a school for mutants.

Yujin had seen this place in movies several times, but he never realized it was only ten minutes from Tony Stark's house.

Of course, that was by plane.

The students watched curiously as the teachers disembarked from the plane, until Yujin stepped down.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s jet was about to take off again.

"Wait a moment?"

Yujin suddenly turned back and looked at Black Widow in the cockpit.

"You're acting weird today."

Black Widow flicked her hair.

"Am I? Darling~ Do you want to join me here? I'm feeling a little unwell today~"

"Natasha isn't as flirty as you. Is she alive or dead?"

Black Widow shook her head.

"I don't know what you mean."

"Enough, stop pretending, Mystique."

At these words, Professor Xavier, who had just been pushed off the plane, turned sharply.

Sure enough, the "Black Widow" in the cockpit transformed into a blue-skinned figure.

"Long time no see, Charles," Mystique waved at Professor Xavier.

"Sorry, I have to take this thing for a spin."

"You can go, but the plane you're stealing belongs to S.H.I.E.L.D. And you didn't kill Natasha, did you?"

"No. I just injected her with a sedative. Oh, and by the way, she's completely defenseless against you."

"Got it. Fine, go ahead. I won't stop you."

Mystique blew a kiss at Yujin and took off in the S.H.I.E.L.D. jet.

Logan gritted his teeth.

"Just let her slip away like that?"

"It's fine," Yujin explained.

"The files you saw at S.H.I.E.L.D. are basically public now. If Magneto gets a copy, it might even be a good thing. After all, during a global crisis, even Magneto has to play nice for a while."

Professor Xavier smiled wryly and shook his head.

"You're the first person I've met like this."

"No worries. You'll understand eventually."
