Despite the thick sword that he was holding, Fedhr didn't showed any sign of slowing down when he ran towards the remaining orcs, and Syla, now that she knew she had just awoken the slumbering warrior from his sleep, had to take immediate action so that Fedhr won't beat her at the competition.
Unlike Fedhr who leaned more into strength and power, Syla was an agile type that leaned more into speed and evasion, she was going to slip herself past Fedhr's blind spot so that she could steal his kill, but when she tried to push her leg any further, Syla suddenly felt a sharp pain that followed in her balance to be thrown off.
Thud!
"W- What!?" Syla said in panic, she fell to her knees and was confused by the pain in her right leg. "Tck! Don't tell me.. Did i pushed myself too hard!?"
Syla was barely able to stand up on her feets, seeing as how Fedhr was not slowing down for her, she felt annoyed that he would win without even putting a single effort against her.
"Maybe going beyond the speed of sound was a bad idea.. I should've thought about the consequences, my body may be flexible but its not durable enough for immense pressure.." She whispered. "If i was a dragon, maybe i could withstand it.. But im not."
"Damnit! Atleast let me walk!" Syla then grabbed her knee from below and raised her leg so that she could stand up.
When she felt the same sharp pain coursing through her body after making her right leg step on the ground, she knew that it would be difficult. But Syla was already used to a challenge.
"This much is nothing compared to when i forced my bones to crack when trying to increase my body flexibility.." She said while slowly taking a step forward.
.
.
GRAKHH!!
GRUHH!!
GREKH!??
SLASH!
Fedhr swung his sword to the side, cutting 2 orcs infront of him while also parrying their attack that came from above. He then shifted his attention towards the orcs that were on his left and spun his body to the same direction as when he swung his sword, the centrifugal force that was carried by the sword was then used by him to cut all of the orcs that surrounded him.
SLASH!
The orcs screamed in pain, yet no one could save them, not even their leader as their vision gradually faded and their body laid limp on the ground. After dealing with all of the orcs that were charging, Fedhr then turned his head at the orc boss, it was standing still while watching him, the orc boss didn't try to intervene or join the fight, it only watches until Fedhr killed all of the orcs.
"You looked gross, fatty pig head." He said mockingly, his face also gradually turn to the usual emotionless soul from before.
Grrr...
Fedhr could feel the orc's internal rage, its glowing eyes were not enough to justify the rage that it was feeling at that very moment, once the orc boss knew that it was the last one alive in the dungeon, that's when it took its first step towards Fedhr.
Thump!
Thump!
The sound of the orc's leg stepping on the ground was enough to shake the ground, standing at almost 4 meters tall, the orc held its iron axe loosely while dragging the tip of the blade on the ground, the sound of the iron scraping the damp soil was soft, but it carried a lot of aura.
"You look strong." Fedhr said calmly.
Grrr...
After the orc was done with intimidating Fedhr and realizing that it wasn't as effective as it thought, the giant orc then decided to run, charging straight at Fedhr's path while raising its axe as if ready to be swung.
Fedhr also prepared his sword for the clash, he waited until the orc was only a few meters away from him before he and the orc gambled it all on a battle of strength.
CLANK!!
Both Fedhr's swors and the orc's iron axe hit each other and they held their stance firmly, even with his body being visibly smaller than the orc, Fedhr surprisingly managed to hold his ground as his sword began to spark.
Their clash lasted for 5 seconds, and the one that broke their stance first was unexpectedly the orc boss, Fedhr's sword won as his strength overpowered the orc and his sword slowly moving closer towards its body, the orc realizing that its strength was inferior then quickly took a step back, it managed to avoid a deadly strike from Fedhr and instantly goes for a counter attack once his sword hit the ground.
GROOKKHH!!
The orc roared, its axe was raised above its head as the orc swung it down as fast as he could, intending to split Fedhr in half. However, just before the iron axe was about to hit him, Fedhr took multiple steps forward, running closer to the orc until he was close enough for a kick, he leaped to the air and positioned both of his leg towards the orc's stomach.
THWACK!
Fedhr's kick landed directly, but his kick strength wasn't enough to cause any significant damage to the orc, but making the orc fall was not even his goal, the real reason why he decided to land a kick was so that he could grab his sword from behind him using both of his hands and then use all of his strength to swing it right at the orc from up close.
SLASH!
The orc screamed in pain as Fedhr's sword pierced through its flesh and took a huge chunk of its stomach and chest, but to Fedhr's surprise, that attack wasn't enough to kill the orc. His eyes widened for a little bit as he didn't expect the orc to survive, and when the orc knew it wouldn't be able to beat Fedhr, the orc then ultimately decided to sacrifice itself to the dungeon. The orc groaned as if trying to gather some form of energy or mana, and as it do so, Fedhr and Syla noticed that the orc gradually began to glow.
Then, out of the ground, multiple vines and tree roots emerged, the dungeon core, which is just a ball of energy that sits at one of the corner of the room, was the one that controlled it. The vines then oscillated aggressively before slammed itself towards Fedhr.
BOOM!
Fedhr barely dodges the vines as he jumped back a couple meters, his sword still being held tightly while his eyes watched as more vines and roots grew from the soil.
"Good grief, i guess it'll be my loss if this happened." He said with his blank face.
As if knowing that he would be defeated, Fedhr then just stood still after landing, he didn't dodge this time, he didn't even focus on the vines anymore, he just waited. Until the moment strikes.
BOOM!
An explosion happened, a fiery explosion, that was targeted at the dungeon core on the corner of the room, the explosion came from a fireball, and who else was able to conjure such magic if it wasn't Syla. As it turns out, the moment Syla saw those vines and roots emerging, she knew that she must no longer playing games and instead quickly clear the dungeon before any of them got injured.
Syla summoned a 50cm fireball on her hand, the burning flames touched Syla's face, yet she doesn't feel any heat, that is until she shot the fireball out of her hand towards the dungeon core. For a split second, Syla could feel the burning heat from her fireball as it escapes from her grasp.
The dungeon core soon got destroyed into multiple pieces, due to it just being a condensed energy which shouldn't even have a physical body, it was bound to be fragile.
When the dungeon core was shattered, the orc boss that was previously full of energy not began to crumble as its body slowly dissipated into dusts.
"Magic.. Is so cool." Fedhr said as he watched the flame's fury infront of him.
Step!
Step!
"You okay?" Syla said from behind, she gave her hand to Fedhr and asked for a handshake.
"You're seriously strong." Fedhr responded while shaking Syla's hand.
The dungeon is now cleared and all of the remaining monsters, plants, and even some of the caves also dissipated like a file that got deleted permanently.
"Huh?.. The cave.. Is not falling?" Syla said, confused as to why the cave was still standing.
"The cave walls disappeared, but the soil still remained locked in place, it hardened from the summer heat, this cave won't disappear until next month or a few." Fedhr responded, he said it like he knew this would happen.
"— Okay.. Anyway, im going out.. Standing like this is bad for my leg.." Syla said before she left Fedhr while she walked out of the cave, backtracking the trail she made until she arrived at the cave entrance.
"— Looking at the darkness will turn me into a vampire.." Fedhr responded jokingly, he followed Syla from behind as the two left the cave and bathed under the setting sun that will disappear at any moment.
