Chapter 68 - Clean Up

"Huh?" Errick stuttered, he wasn't sure what to say to Syla.

After a few seconds of nothing, Syla decided that she will be the one that will answer her own question, water began to come out of her palm and it formed into a round shape, similar to how a planet that is made out of water behaved.

"Using fireball would most likely caused the cliff around it to fall and cause an avalanche, it'd be a trouble if we have to go around, so i'll be using this." Syla said, she closed one of her eye and aimed at one of the bandit in the distance.

'This is my first time using it at a target this far.. Let's see if the power holds up until it reaches him.' Syla thought as she imagined a water jet coming out of the circular water cluster.

Fwoong!

It was fast, faster than what any of the mercenaries could see, they hadn't realized it yet, but a stream of water just flew towards the bandit at an unfathomable speed, Errick wasn't looking at Syla's hand at that time, but rather he was looking at the bandit in the distance, and when he saw one of them suddenly collapsing to the ground, he was perplexed.

Thud!

"H- HIEEKK!! H- HEY.. THIS GUY'S DEAD! HE'S DEAD!" One of the bandit that were lucky to have barely dodged the water jet screamed after he saw his friend falls out of nowhere with a small hole in the back of his head.

"F- FUCK! KEEP RUNNING! WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BASE AND INFO—

Fwoong!

Thud!

"TCH! DAMN YOU! I THE GREAT RAGGATH WON'T GIVE UP WITHOUT A FIGH—

Fwoong!

Thud!

"L- LEADER!"

Another bandit was down, by that point the other bandits realized that they were all going to be killed sooner or later, and just as they had predicted, bodies began to pile from every direction, those who were unfortunate enough to witness it could only stay still, their voice won't come out, and their body won't respond to their orders, the last thing they saw was their other friends being shot by a string of water that pierced their through their head, in the end, the remaining bandits collapsed together as they stared into each other's eyes.

.

.

"It's over." Syla said while sheathing her sword back into the scabbard. "Phew.."

Syla turned her body to look at Errick and the rest, she wanted to see if any of them had been injured or not, but she instead saw them staring at her with an open mouth.

"—Umm, i guess no one is injured?" Syla said with an awkward smile.

'I guess they're shocked, well i don't blame them, but atleast don't stare at me like that!' Syla said to herself.

Then suddenly, Yveia approached Syla and placed her hand at her shoulder, Yveia was almost 190cm tall and with Syla only standing barely at 170cm, she had to raise her head just to look at Yveia's face.

"Syla, can you be my teacher?" Yveia said with a serious face.

"Hah?!" Syla was caught off guard by Yveia's request and she quickly let go of her hand from her shoulder.

"No no im serious!" Yveia didn't give up and she tried to persuade Syla. "If i learn swordmanship from you, im sure i'll be stronger!"

"Uhh.. Sorry, but i never taught anyone before.. Being a teacher isn't really my thing-" Syla said while scratching her cheek.

"Aw come on! Please! Can you atleast tell me what kind of technique you used in your swordmanship!?" Yveia kept preaching Syla about her power's secret, she lowered her head to match with Syla and stared at her from up close.

"Ah!! It's a family secret! Anyway! Let's go back to the carriage.." Syla said before walking away from Yveia.

"Tch, what kind of family do you have.." Yveia said jokingly, but she also felt a little disappointed.

"Huff.. Give me a break.." Errick scoffed from behind as he released a deep sigh. "Anyone's injured?"

"Only a few scratch, it will heal in a few days, but i think i need a few bandages though." Vahen replied.

"Same here, no serious injury, but one of the bandit punched my shoulder, so its all bruised up." Hilma added.

"Im mostly fine." Anther seemed the most relaxed among the other.

After knowing the other's condition, Errick felt relieved for his friends, a faint smile formed on his lips before he walked towards the carriage, following Syla's footsteps.

"I see.. Good job you lots, i'll treat you for a meal when we arrived." He said.

"But didn't you used all of your money to pay for the carriage ride?" Anther suddenly responded, causing everyone to shut their mouth as they tried to not laugh.

"—Haha, that's funny.." Errick said while looking away from his three friends, then he secretly whispered to himself. "Maybe i shouldn't have used all the money from that merchant at parties.."

.

.

Syla arrived infront of the carriage a few moments later, she noticed that there was no noise coming from the inside of the carriage, since she doesn't know if Paroug was still hiding or not, she decided to call for him.

"Paroug? You there?" She said.

"Syla?" Suddenly, a vague voice was heard from the inside, and the small window that Syla previously used to peek at Paroug was opened. "Is it over?"

"Yeah, the bandits have been dealt with." Syla responded.

"Is that so.." Paroug then closed the window and slowly makes his way out of the carriage, he jumped down and walked over to Syla, where he saw the mercenaries behind her all tired and messy.

"Is everyone okay?" He asked.

"It seems like it, you don't have to worry." Syla then tapped Paroug's shoulder before she walked pass him and entered the carriage again from the back.

"Yo, driver.. Your passenger over there is really strong, where did you met her?" Yveia asked Paroug as she tapped his shoulder aswell.

"Huh? Uhh, well- we met in Direwell." Paroug said, he was quite scared with Yveia's tall figure and also rough body that was uncommon for women.

"I see, well that's all." Yveia then left Paroug alone and entered the carriage once again.

When Errick and the rest of the mercenaries also came forward and met Paroug, he suddenly asked Errick about the battle, he felt curious with it, mostly due to Yveia's previous words that called Syla strong.

"Sir, what exactly happened in that battle?" Paroug said.

At first, Errick seems hesitant to answer, however he realized that Paroug might already know about Syla's power already, so he began telling him the whole thing.

.

.

"We fought with the bandits, however Syla was the one that made the bandits fleeing in fear, although i didn't see the entire fight between her and the triplet, im sure that the triplet was strong, stronger than all of us and the rest of the bandits, if they were a normal member of the bandits group, they won't run away just from seeing them killed, unless they knew how strong the triplets were and the fact that they still got defeated by Syla." Errick explained.

"Unbelievable.." Paroug was stunned upon hearing the story, though he knew that Syla was a strong individual, especially stronger than what normal adventurer usually be within her age, he didn't expect her strength to go beyond his expectations.

"Heyy! What's taking you so long!? Did you forget about Jule!? He's hanging on a thin rope here! Are you there!?" Suddenly, from the inside of the carriage, Yveia's voice can be heard yelling, she was obviously calling for Errick and the rest of the mercenaries to get on and continue the trip or else the sun might be going down first.

"—Oh right, We need to treat Jule!" Errick said before stretching his hand to Paroug. "You said your name was Sir Paroug? Nice to meet you, im Errick."

"Ah, nice to meet you too, and thank you for saving my life, i owe you a big one." Paroug replied with a smile as he shook Errick's hand.

"It's nothing, you allowing us to ride the carriage was already a huge help, then let us talk again later." Errick then walked into the carriage, Anther, Hilma, and Vahen all thanked Paroug before they also went inside the carriage.

Paroug also doesn't want to waste anymore time, so he climbed onto the driver seat and ordered the horses to go forward.

Their journey continues, and following the direction of the wind, the carriage soon entered the cliff crevice, treading their way across the bandit corpses, the carriage wheel ran over the soulless body without a single ounce of guilt.

'Don't open your eyes, don't open your eyes..' Paroug thought while feeling the bump from running over a dead body.

Surrounded with nothing but steep walls that stretches across the sky while also hidden from the sunlight, Syla watched from behind as she helped the other passengers by treating with their injuries.
