Chapter 59 - Treatment Heal

A few moments later—

Syla and the rest of the people that was trapped within the basement hole was brought up to the surface again by a rope, some had to be carried while others was mourned for their death.

The incident caused a turmoil within Direwell and it took the guards along with the goverments a day to calm everyone down. While Syla was walking together with the guards to get treated for her injuries, she noticed that every adventurers and even the pedestrians that happened to be on the area was staring at her, each of those stares having mix of emotions, some showed admiration, while other showed relief and even lust.

"Excuse me." From beyond the crowds that was gathering at the area, a man in fancy clothes told everyone infront of him to make way, and surprisingly they obliged without any questions, since that man turns out to be Marrick.

He arrived at the guards post and asked one of them a question.

"What happened here?!" He said.

"Ah, sir Marrick.. It seems like this place is the kidnapper's hideout, they were operating underground within a basement, that's why it took us longer than expected, and from what the survivor and also the girl who killed the leader said, this basement is connected to outside the wall, where a secret passage was built and a carriage was waiting for them to be moved towards another location—

"If it weren't for the girl, we would've lost them." The guard responded.

"Is that so.." Marrick let out a sigh of relief upon hearing the story, then he felt intrigued with the girl that the guard mentioned. "You said their leader was killed by a girl? Where is she?"

"She's being treated by the healers over there, along with everyone that also suffered an injury, that building." The guard said while pointing towards a building that was on the main street.

"I see– Good job, did you captured the rest of the criminals? You said there's a leader right? so there must be a subordinate." Marrick asked again.

"Ah, yes, we've caught one of them, the survivors said there's only 3 of them, and it seems like the other subordinate of the leader also died, his body is being searched by the guards down there." The guard responded calmly.

Marrick felt even more relieved after hearing the news, he spared a few glance at the hole infront of him, he saw the guards below rummaging through the countless rubbles to find the remaining bodies before looking away and focusing his attention at the building that the guard mentioned previously.

Meanwhile, many adventurers that was at the scene expressed their disappointment, since the criminal was already killed and their subordinates had been captured by the guards, it means they won't be getting the rewards from the mayor.

"Our rewards– Damnit! After what we gone through.." One of the adventurer sobbed at their failure.

"Aren't we just running around in circle.. Why are you acting as if we just killed a dragon or something." His friend tried to calm him down.

"Agghh!! We shouldn't have left the slum! Who would've expect that their base would be this close!?" The group of adventurer that seemed to be consisted of 2 humans and 1 goblin looked frustrated, they who came from the slums of Direwell, was looking forward for the reward, but unfortunately, they failed.

"Well, i guess luck isn't on our side, let's wait for another time Gobarg." Feret said as he tapped Gobarg's shoulder.

"But still, i can't believe that one girl managed to cause all of this mess.. Could it be that explosion from earlier was caused by her magic? And the man that she killed too, he was muscular and his veins almost protruding from his skin, almost as if he was taking some sort of drugs.." The messy man from the group was amazed by Syla.

"Did you see her body earlier!?" Gobarg suddenly changed the topic.

"What? don't tell me you got a boner?" The messy man said with a smirk.

"I mean, who wouldn't!?" Feret tried to end their conversation, he then told them to forget about it and asked them to go back to the slum.

Inside a nearby building—

Two guards can be seen standing beside the front door, each of them staring at the street without making an eye contact. Inside the building they were guarding, Syla was being laid down onto the floor along with the other survivors and the unfortunate pedestrians that got caught within her battle with Bruke from the basement, she was surrounded with another group of guards and also a few people in white gown.

While the guards inside was only acting like a statue, completely ignoring Syla, the people in white gown was the one that will act as the doctor, there were 6 of them, the same number as the survivors in the room, each of them was assigned to heal every person that was injured, and Syla's healer, who looked like a woman in her 30's, crouched down before her.

"You must be the one that saved them all, thank you." The healer said with a smile.

"—It's nothing, i did it to save myself aswell." Syla replied.

Before her injuries was able to get worse, Syla saw the healer raising her palm towards her, as she closed her eyes, she summoned a bright green light that quickly engulfed Syla's entire body. Hundreds of glowing sparkles came out of the healer's hand and they slowly move its way to Syla's injuries.

When the sparkles settled within her injuries, Syla felt a shock, it was a short pain that lasted less than a second, then she noticed that her burn marks that was on her hands gradually healed and revived her skin.

'So this is healing magic?.. This is the first time i've seen it..' Syla thought, fascinated by the strange magic infront of her.

Unlike the usual offensive magic that was used for battle, healing magic works exactly as what anyone would've expect, it will heal a person's injury when given enough time, however, using healing magic also comes with a risk, just like how using fireball could burn its caster if it explodes near them, healing magic drain more mana than any other magic spells there is.

The more advance a healing magic is, the more mana it demands, and sometimes a healer could faint from mana exhaustion after just healing 2 or 3 people.

And some who could even heal a missing limbs usually fainted after just 1 heal. That's how risky healing magic is.

'I'd like to learn how to use it.. But unfortunately its an exclusive trait given from birth, from what i read.. It's also the reason why many people believed healers are the ones gifted by god.' Syla said to herself.

The entire process took more than 10 minutes, while Syla was being healed, she could frel her limbs gradually getting easier to move than before, then at the end of her healing process, the green light that was covering her disappeared like a fog.

"You can move your body now." The healer said.

Syla nodded to her and began moving her limbs one by one, and just like she had expected, she didn't feel any discomfort in any of them, its as if the injuries from before had never even happened in the first place.

"It feels nice, thank you.." Syla said to the healer while smiling.

She then got up from her laying position and sat on the floor, she looked around the room and saw the other healers still healing their patient, although they're all already at the last injury, Syla was still surprised to see that she was the first one that got healed.

Creak!

Suddenly, Syla heard a creaking noise coming from the front door, she immediately turned her head and saw the door being opened, that's when she saw a middle-aged man dressed in fancy clothes coming into the room, his face looked calm and soothing, as if telling Syla that he's not dangerous and is genuine.

When Syla was staring at the man's face, she got startled after he looked back at her, he then smiled while approaching to her spot.

"Are you the one that saved all of these people?" He said gently.
