1 Year Later, 27th January, 9:00AM—
Another year have passed, it's been almost 2 years now since Syla first reincarnated into this world, her white hairs had already grew long, reaching all the way to her shoulders, she's now capable of walking and speaking many sentences. Gradually, her appearance became more beautiful as time goes on, however despite that, she only spend most of her time inside, reading books has become her daily routine, and although she still struggle with some of the letters and words, she can read most of the paragraphs inside the book, if there's a word or letters she failed to understand, she can just guess it from the previous words.
On this particular day, Syla was reading a book as usual, there's more books in the bookshelf inside her house than before, in the past year, her parents had bought almost 8 new books for Syla to read, they left the village along with the hunting squad to go to a nearby human town, where stores and others equipments that can't be found here being sold. It was a risky ride, going to a human settlement means they need to traverse the woods, at which many monsters reside, some can be killed easily, while some are extremely dangerous even if the whole hunting squad were present.
But Syla's parents were determined to give Syla the best education that they could, even if she doesn't go to school like humans, she can still learn everything from the books they bought her, she had been a diligent reader all this time, finishing many of her books and only stopping if it becomes too complex, at often times she asked her mother for help, not to explain it to her, but to just read it for her, Syla can discover the meaning later, all she need to do is just know what it reads.
'— So this world does have dungeons, but it's not what i expected– Dungeon is a monster nest that has grown into an unprecedented size, usually from being discovered way too late by other monsters or humans, when the nest has grown into a certain size, the mana will detects the abundant amount of monsters and form a hivemind-like system where a leader is chosen and given more power than usual, to which it will use to control every monsters in the nest. If left alone, dungeon can grow into a disaster. Some past incidents include a devastating monster stampede that came from an undiscovered rogue goblin dungeon near a town, approximately 1500 rogue goblins wreck havoc at the nearby town, decimating it immediately with many adventurers losing their lives at the battlefield—
'That sounds scary, do they not have a mage with Area attacks?'
Syla flipped the pages after done reading the dungeon section, the next one explains the method on how to destroy a dungeon, to summarize it, to destroy a dungeon, one must kill the leader that leads the army of monsters, once killed, all the mana that was build up inside the dungeon and the leader will burst and goes back to nature, at which point the dungeon will collapse on its own.
'Interesting.'
BANG!
As Syla continues to read each pages of the book, titled 'Adventurer's Manual Book Volume 1', she suddenly heard loud bang at the other side of the house.
Startled with the sudden noise, Syla quickly closed the book and ran towards the source, she can't exactly run that well, but considering that her control over her body has exponentially increased, it was way easier now than before.
"Mom?"
In the kitchen, Syla sees her mother on the floor, various wooden utensils scattered with some landed on her mom's body, it's obvious that the loud noise Syla heard was her mother falling. Soon after, her dad came into the scene, he immediately saw his wife and tried to pull her hand to make her stand up.
"Are you okay!?" He said with a worrying voice. Hargal didn't go on a hunt today because the hunting squad is temporarily disabled in winter due to the terrain and climate conditions being harsher than normal.
"Im fine, haha.. Slipped on a puddle, my bad." Yulia replied, her voice clearly indicates that she was holding her pain.
"Let's sit on the couch, i'll clean this mess– Syla, help me accompany your mom" Syla's dad said while holding Yulia's hand on his shoulder, he brought her to the living room and made her sit on the couch, Syla also sat down and laid down beside her mother. All while her dad cleaned the aftermath of the fall.
"Does it hurt?" Syla asked.
Her mother looked at Syla with a strange feeling, to be comforted by a 2 years old child is something that she never knew she needed.
"Of course not, my dear, mom only scratched herself, there's no pain at all." She replied with a smile.
'Her smile is a bit forced.' Syla noticed the oddities in her mother's expression. She laid down on her mother's lap to try to comfort her, all while thinking to herself.
'She's the best mother i've ever had, in my previous life, my mother was a strict person when i was a child, she often scolds me, sometimes it was out of pure anger, but sometimes it was also because i didn't know about anything back then.. She wasn't a bad mother, but i wished she would listen to me and not force to keep my feelings.' Syla remembered the bitter memories of her previous life, she wasn't supposed to remember it, but now that memory suddenly came up to her brain on its own.
'There's been many things that had happened, at first i was scared, i didn't know what to do with my new body, i felt bad for being breastfed by my mother, i didn't want to look at my reflection because its not my old body, but over time i've come to realize, and noticed that i should not worry about these things– Since i do not plan on ever stopping, she will never knew about the true me, and i plan to keep it that way forever.' Syla said to herself, convincing herself once more to focus on this new reality, that god on the other side had played its own fun part, now its time for her to have her fun, and not sulk in her own mind for too long.
A few minutes later, Syla's dad appeared out of the back, he brought some warm water and some leaves that has sort of patterns all over it, Syla recognized the leaves from one of the book that she read.
'Flarebloom flower leaves?' She thought after seeing the unique patterns on the leaves. 'I remember it has a healing properties for minor injuries such as muscle cramps or small scratch, but aren't there side effect of it? Was it— The feeling of burning when applied to a skin.'
Syla's dad brought the water and the Flarebloom leaves and put it on the floor.
"Tell me where it hurts." He said to his wife.
Yulia then began touching the spot which she felt the pain was coming from, after confirming the spot, Syla's dad rubbed the spot with warm water and then applied the Flarebloom leaf to each of them, the leaves quickly stick to her skin, causing her to grunt as if she's in greater pain.
"Just hold it, it'll fade away eventually." Her dad said to comfort her mom.
"T- Thanks.."
'She must be feeling the burn in her skin, i wonder how much it hurts.' Syla thought, curious with the leaves healing properties and its effects.
