Chapter 619 - 7

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C106: A Gift Or A...

Kyle had handed Calista an ultimatum, he wanted to see if this would be a deal breaker for her but the chances that it would be low.

Not everyone had the means to satisfy her financial cravings like him but this helped him confirm that she was emotionally attached to him if she was affected by something like this.

Kyle found this funny but he wasn't going out of his way to please her.

If anything, he was the one out of her league, not the other way round and with a snap of his finger, he could crumble her career.

He could make her lose it all and send her right back to ground zero.

"You were supposed to leave with me…" Calista sounded unsure of the words that came out of her mouth.

"I can go home with whoever I want, Calista…" Kyle said sternly before redirecting her gaze to face him.

"And you look at me when you speak," Kyle warned her.

"Were you jealous?" Kyle asked but Calista couldn't muster the courage to speak about it.

Kyle realized that she might not like what she heard but had no choice but to accept the reality of it.

This was to test her reaction as his hand left her chin before finally revealing.

"I didn't take anyone home, they had a bit too much to drink so I had to take them home," Kyle revealed.

"I don't care, you can do whatever you want." Calista rolled her eyes but he could sense the relief in her voice.

"I can do whatever I want?" Kyle questioned, pausing briefly.

"And what if that thing is you?" A smirk creased his face and this almost broke the nonchalant face that Calista had.

He noticed that she had on different clothes so she clearly went back home and she didn't look tired or hungover either.

That meant that she called it a night early after spotting him leaving the area.

"Here…" Calista said, digging her hand into her bag to bring out a box.

"What is this?" Kyle had to ask because it was wrapped in foil.

"Just open it," Calista responded, sounding almost embarrassed.

Kyle shrugged before unwrapping it but he saw something inside that he didn't expect to find.

It was a ring but not just any ring, it cost approximately $10,000.

Kyle knew she didn't have this kind of money just sitting around in her bank account.

"WOAH!" Kyle explained, taking it out of the box.

"You like it?" Calista asked, sounding hopeful and Kyle nodded without hesitation.

"I love it! I don't receive a lot of presents so this is a first! Why did you get me this?" Kyle wanted to know her reason but Calista's eyes softened.

"I want you to wear it at all times!" Calista demanded.

"Wait, are you proposing to me?" Kyle questioned her with a raised brow.

"OF COURSE NOT!" Calista barked before clearing her throat to compose herself.

"This is sweet, I mean it, Calista. Thank you," Kyle tried it on and Calista sat there, content with what she saw.

She wanted to surprise him with it for quite some time now but was waiting for the check to clear before she could pay for it in full.

This money might be insignificant to Kyle but Calista, it was everything because she hadn't been paid yet for the movie she was still shooting but she wanted to show Kyle that he was special to her and his reaction was everything for her.

Kyle wore it, he didn't know how much it cost because these weren't things he usually shopped for but even he knew that diamonds weren't cheap.

"You're welcome," Calista responded with a broad smile on her face but one could look at it in another light.

Kyle had sent her way more than this so it was simply her buying something with some of the money he had sent her.

But this wasn't how Kyle saw it because she didn't need to do this.

This was all that happened because Calista had work to return to, she came all the way here to see if Kyle had any women over or any signs of women but mainly to give him this gift.

She had to find a way to make an impression on him that lasts and what better way than a gift?

A constant reminder of her presence in his life, seeing him with those girls made her remember how in-demand men like him were.

She couldn't afford to lose him not only because of the financial benefits but her emotional attachment.

-

Jane was coming to it, she couldn't do anything because of the throbbing headache that rocked her head. It felt like her brain had a heartbeat and Ella was beside her with a bottle of water to help her hydrate.

Like she thought, Jane couldn't remember anything that she had done last night but Ella wasn't about to remind her either.

"God… Why didn't you stop me from drinking?" Jane questioned, clutching her head in pain.

"You needed to loosen up and have fun," Ella defended her alcohol intake.

"And besides, Kyle liked you in that state," Ella added and Jane's face flushed red.

"Wait, what!?" Jane screamed.

"You don't remember? You told him how much you liked him," Ella teased but Jane swallowed every word that came out of her mouth.

"T-That's a lie! There is no way I could say that!" Jane immediately shot down the idea.

"You don't want to hear what he said?" Ella questioned. Jane denied saying what she said but if she did say it by chance, she wanted to hear what Kyle had to say.

"He said…" Ella paused, stopping herself from completing her sentence.

"... Nothing, because you never said anything to him," Ella confessed.

"Gosh! You're the worst!" Jane barked, tossing a pillow in Ella's direction who couldn't stop laughing.

This was the first time that she had seen Jane act this way over a guy.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C107: An Unexpected Text.

Kyle was shocked by the gesture Calista had shown him because he never expected her to reciprocate his energy but this confirmed that this was becoming a serious thing.

However, his earlier conversation with her regarding Jane and Ella told him that she was one to accept him having multiple women as long as he didn't neglect her.

Or he would have gotten a more violent reaction from her when he told her he did leave with some women.

Calista's main concern was to maintain her spot in his life even if he did have other women.

She knew how these things worked so it wouldn't surprise her nonetheless.

She left Kyle alone soon after and allowed him to have the day to himself just like he planned to.

He hopped on his gaming console and played some games, most notably God of War: Ragnarok.

This was one of his favourite games because it symbolized Kratos' journey from a brute to a gentle god.

The character development was up there and this was one of those games that could be classified as the greatest of all time.

Kyle spent at least an hour or so playing but then his phone got an unexpected message from an unknown number.

He tried to figure out who he was but he came up blank, Kyle wanted to respond but he was in no hurry.

If someone was texting with an unknown number, it was common courtesy to introduce themselves. But this wasn't the first time that an unknown number had tried to contact him in the past couple of days.

Kyle wasn't the one going to drag this out as he had nothing to lose or gain by ignoring them because it was none of his business in the end. However, his phone soon buzzed again– a minute later.

Kyle looked at it again but this time, it was more than a simple greeting and he instantly recognized this person.

"Cassandra?" Kyle muttered to himself, dropping his controller because he thought she was done with him.

She had blocked his number after all so this was a surprise but this also confirmed it was her that called him that day.

Kyle picked up the phone and shot her a text, asking how she had been and Cassandra responded like she usually would.

Kyle realized that she might have needed time to process what had happened but if she was talking to him once again then things must be alright.

Kyle was surprised to see that she was inviting him over to her place once again.

"Is this some sort of set-up?" Kyle thought to himself, the timing was too convenient.

There had to be an ulterior motive for her to suddenly want him in her house considering she was married but then again, his system had an inaccurate read on her.

That shouldn't have been the case but Kyle knew that this might work out in his favor.

He agreed to meet up, he switched off his game but he didn't plan to use his car as that would draw unwanted attention.

There was no way they wouldn't notice a car of that calibre parked in the neighbourhood that wasn't used to such sights.

Kyle arrived there in a little over an hour but remained skeptical about the nature of the meet-up.

He noticed that the neighbourhood was a suburb with little activity, it was the perfect place to raise a family.

However, it was too drab for Kyle's liking as it reminded him of the neighbourhood of the show called, Desperate Housewives with nosey cheating housewives littered everywhere.

Maybe that was why Cassandra was the way she was. Not that he minded.

It wasn't in his place to act as a moral compass for anyone because she was even older than he was, she should have more experience when it comes to certain things.

Kyle texted her that he had arrived but he stood some distance away from the door to observe her.

This could be her husband trying to get his revenge on him but out came Cassandra.

She looked around but didn't see anyone, she picked up her phone and texted Kyle.

All while he was watching her do it and that was when he decided to come out.

Cassandra immediately caught him and waved him down, Kyle was surprised that she wanted to see him in public.

He expected her to want to sneak him in so there would be no evidence of his being here but this gave him a sense of security as there was no way that he wouldn't be seen by at least one person.

If anything should happen to him, there would be traces of him here.

Kyle approached her and he could tell that there was something different about her.

She looked… happy and Kyle looked over his shoulder to see that a few people were watching them.

"Hey, you…" Kyle began the conversation but Cassandra gave him a full-teeth smile.

"Hi! Want to come in, stranger?" Cassandra requested, Kyle felt like he was talking to a different person.

"Does she have a split personality?" Kyle thought to himself, he dared not verbalize his thoughts.

"Sure thing Cassey," Kyle responded and they both entered the house.

"I must say, I'm surprised you reached out to me after that incident," Kyle brought it up right away but this was in part to see her reaction.

"I was overwhelmed, I didn't know what to do at that moment," Cassandra confessed.

"So it had nothing to do with the fact that you're married?" Kyle questioned, he noticed the portraits on the wall didn't have any male figures.

It was only pictures of her and her child, there was no way she would be married and not have a picture of her husband on there.

"About that…" Cassandra said, smiling awkwardly.

"We're in the middle of a divorce," Cassandra finally revealed the nature of her relationship with the man.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C108: Taboo?

Kyle was face to face with Cassandra and he didn't know what she wanted or why he was there.

He couldn't hear or see signs of anyone else too but the revelation that she was going through a divorce would explain why his system couldn't define her relationship with her spouse.

And he had verbal confirmation of this and Kyle couldn't contain his surprise either.

"You're getting a divorce?" Kyle questioned with a raised brow.

"Not all pieces fit," Cassandra responded, recalling one of their conversations.

"That is true but you told me otherwise that day," Kyle reminded her but she looked embarrassed by this.

"Y-You remember… How embarrassing. I just wanted to see what kind of man you were," Cassandra responded, temporarily covering her face to conceal her embarrassment.

Kyle noticed she had an apron on but from the way her nipples were poking out, whatever was inside barely concealed them.

His eyes darted down to her legs, she had on a long skirt that reached her ankles, it was loose enough for her to move freely in.

"Is that why you have invited me here, you wish to see if our piece matches?" Kyle questioned with a smirk on his face.

"I invited you here because I wanted to apologize in person. I would have done it over the phone but I wanted to see you," Cassandre reiterated.

"Is that so?" Kyle asked, sighing because this was a lot better than he initially thought.

"That is right so I'm sorry for my behavior. You did nothing wrong and I was the one that put myself in that position, I thought I could control myself but I guess I was wrong," Cassandra took accountability for her part in this.

Kyle was impressed by this display of maturity, who said women can't take accountability? Cassandra was debunking that theory right now.

"You're so serious, there is no need to apologize. I did have a role to play in all of this as well, I should have left you alone when I found out you were married," Kyle confessed.

"So why didn't you?" Cassandra questioned, the way she asked that question made it sound like it was something she had been wanting to ask him.

"Because I find you incredibly attractive, that is why," Kyle said but Cassandra snickered in response.

"So in the end, you just want to sleep with me, is that it?" Cassandra sounded disappointed.

Kyle realized the moment she didn't give in was because she thought he was like every other guy. No one wants to take care of a single mother, single mothers are fetishes and easy targets to get their dick wet.

They wanted the coochie with none of the responsibilities but who could blame them?

It wasn't easy taking care of a child but a single mother was an easy catch.

Cassandra resisted Kyle because she didn't wish to be just another number on his list.

He couldn't blame her, this was how she could maintain the advantage because Kyle knew he had the money to change lives.

There was no doubt that this woman could see that and qualified him as a possible candidate to take care of not only her but her child as well.

"I would be lying if I said I didn't but I could also take care of you and your child. As you can see, I have the means," Kyle boasted.

Cassandra was hesitant to give a response, she didn't expect him to respond this way.

"But naturally, no other man will have access to you but me. I'm not a man that fits a single piece," Kyle informed her, laying down his proposition.

"Y-You like me that much?" Cassandra couldn't believe what she was hearing because he had no reason to go through such lengths but Kyle realized that this might be the perfect means to get wealthier.

A married woman with a child? He couldn't imagine the expenses and he could handle the bills and earn passive income.

"I wouldn't use that strong a word. I simply wish to claim your piece for myself. You can call it greed but I'm a collector of beautiful women and you, Cassandra, are beautiful," Kyle confessed.

Cassandra was speechless, she brought him here to apologize and clear up all confusion about her supposed marriage but here he was, basically proposing.

"Y-You are crazy…" Cassandra blurted out.

"Am I?" Kyle questioned with a cocky smile plastered across his handsome face.

"You are…" Cassandra repeated.

"Maybe I am," Kyle responded, he didn't try to downplay how ridiculous this sounded.

"And what do you mean collector? Do you have other women?" Cassandra wanted to know what she was about to get herself into.

"That is right, I do have other women and I have to admit, I did plan to take you away from your husband regardless," Kyle confessed, even though the last part was only a recent thought.

"You see, it takes a special kind of man to keep a woman of your calibre pleased and that is why you were drawn to me," Kyle was smooth with his words and gave Cassandra no room to misinterpret whatever it was he was saying.

"Think it over Cassandra, if not for you, do it for your child," Kyle gave her a choice that she could either decline or accept.

Either way, he wished to claim her for himself because she had something that the others didn't have, that was a mother's nurturing nature with a combination of those gigantic melons hanging from her chest.

"Think it over, you don't have to give me an answer now but while you're thinking about it. Make sure no one touches you, including your husband or the deal is off," Kyle warned but there was no way for him to know if the husband did touch her but the way he spoke made it feel otherwise. Maybe he could? Maybe his system could grant him this information.

Cassandra couldn't even respond but this was good, it meant that she was thinking about it because part of him thought she would turn him down right away.

But the lack of an immediate response was a positive sign and this was the last thing he said before leaving the house.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C109: Ex?

Kyle was leaving the apartment but at the door, he ran into the most unlikely of people.

"Who the fuck are you?" A man barked and Kyle didn't need to be told who this man was.

It was clearly her husband, he was much smaller than him, standing at a height of 5 '7 but Kyle didn't say a word.

He just looked at him, he didn't feel threatened by the scrawny man in front of him.

Is this why Cassandra invited him over because she knew this man was coming over?

If anything, why was he here to begin with?

There couldn't have been a worse timing than this but Kyle wasn't about to make a big deal out of this.

"Hello to you too," Kyle finally responded, looking down at him literally.

Luckily, Cassandra came out before the conversation could evolve into something violent.

"What are you doing here, Justin!?" Cassandra barked at him.

Justin was a balding man in his early-mid forties, he looked like a worn-out rag doll with the eyebags under his eyes telling a story of his struggles with life.

He was out of shape but the moustache hanging above his lips made him look like an 80s paedophile. Kyle almost chuckled upon seeing that this was the man that managed to land Cassandra.

"Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder," Kyle mocked the man right in front of him.

The way he swore at him, Kyle knew he could take him on in a fight so he had no idea why he was being so rude.

"What did you say!?" The man barked but that was all he was, all bark.

There was nothing else he could do and Kyle wasn't worried about him swinging either.

Kyle didn't move past a certain point, standing in place because this man struck him as a violent man.

"It is fine, Kyle," Cassandra could sense that Kyle perceived him to be a threat.

"We haven't even finalized the divorce and you're already hopping on the next dick? You really are a slut and this is why I will win custody," Justin cussed her out but Kyle didn't say a word.

He knew that this wasn't his fight to have and Cassandra should be able to handle herself.

If anything, he could see why she was getting a divorce and she also didn't seem affected by his words as it was met with an eye roll.

Kyle knew that this must be routine but the fact that the man wanted to fight for full custody could be another reason why Cassandra was hesitant to sleep with him.

It was slowly beginning to make sense and Kyle understood her situation better.

He walked off but not before brushing past the misfit in front of him. He didn't know why a man this old was acting in such an undignified manner.

There was no telling what this situation would be but he knew one thing, Kyle wasn't going to allow this man to win custody over that child.

And he had the financial means to get not only the best lawyers money has to offer but this would be the final push to win Cassandra over.

She was a mother, and naturally, she would be drawn to a man who could protect her and her child.

Kyle left the area, he could see the neighbours looking as if they were hungry for drama.

"God, I hate the suburbs," Kyle muttered under himself, exiting the neighbourhood with the same Uber he had come in, waiting for him.

There was a fee for waiting but Kyle didn't care because money was the least of his problems.

-

Calista walked into work feeling giddy after giving Kyle the present because it felt like they were having something real.

But she looked at the script once again and she saw something different.

It wasn't just a kissing scene but it involved one explicit scene where she had to expose herself.

Nudity would surely drive viewership and marketability but this was where Calista drew the line.

She approached Lucas in his office once again but he was busy on his laptop.

"You again? Are you here to complain about the script?" Lucas asked, expecting Calista to be passive.

She wouldn't have had a problem with the script if it had been there from the start but these changes felt impromptu.

She didn't have to put up with it and this was where she was going to make a stand.

He couldn't sleep with her so he wanted to humiliate her on camera?

She wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and the last thing she needed was a movie like this because even the softcore film she acted in never included full nudity.

The sex scenes were her either grinding or humping on someone to simulate intercourse, there was no nudity so this would be her first in that regard.

Even though there were flashes of her breasts on screen, the nipples were never exposed as they usually had a band around them that pertained to the scene.

"I'm sorry sir but I cannot do this scene," Calista outright told him, she didn't beat around the bush.

"If you don't do it, we will find someone else who will," Lucas responded once again but this was him bluffing.

"I think that would be for the best, this wasn't the script I signed up for. I was fine with you adding the kissing scene but propping me up as some sort of sex object– a scene that wasn't originally in the script?" Calista challenged him but she didn't wait for a response before heading for the door.

She felt her heart drop. Of course, this was too good to be true and all the expectations she had crumbled right in front of her.

She had gotten too excited about something but there she held him clamping his laptop shut.

"Fine, I will take the scene off the script," Lucas conceded because he knew that Calista was one of the few people he couldn't lose as her role went beyond him.

Favouritism if you will and he was the one that could be replaced but of course, Calista wasn't aware of this and he hoped to take advantage of the situation.

But she wasn't having any of it and Lucas knew his little games had to end.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C110: Taste Buds.

Kyle left the area and the Uber driver was confused as to why he wanted him to wait outside for so long when he could have easily ordered another Uber without incurring additional charges.

There are some people that simply had too much money on them and this man in his backseat was an example of that.

He wasn't going to let him go without trying to somehow get more money from him but the moment he dropped Kyle off.

He looked at his phone and saw that Kyle had left a huge tip with a five-star review.

The man couldn't believe it, he didn't even need to ask for anything.

Kyle had dropped in at his just-opened nightclub to see how it was doing.

He was surprised to see how clean it was considering that it was a mess just the night before.

"Welcome boss," Nate greeted with a salute, he was energetic but Kyle knew why.

He got paid, there was no way anyone who got paid that amount wouldn't be excited.

"I can see you're taking care of things here," Kyle praised him but he noticed that there was no one else around.

That meant that Nate had either cleaned this place up himself or hired external help to do the job.

But judging from his tattered appearance, it was clear that he had done this job himself.

He was going above and beyond but there was no need to do such a thing.

Nate had already interviewed a few people that started work right away.

He retained the people in the restaurant section but none of the people he worked with directly last night.

They assumed Nate was one of them and Kyle was the one with the power, a right assumption and thus displayed their true personalities around him.

Kyle knew that Nate had a good sense of people's character and with the renovation of the apartment in progress, everything was going swimmingly.

It was now time for him to make his announcement into Hollywood, there was no doubt that his Nightclub would bring in multiple celebrities due to the amount he used in promoting it but Kyle added an additional rule.

A unique rule that made sure whatever happened in the club stayed in the club and that was submitting their smartphones at the entrance.

This made it impossible for anyone to record what was going on inside and allowed everyone to let loose without worrying about trending on social media.

Kyle knew this would provide a sense of security but it would also control what kind of deals could go on.

He knew that social media was a disease that celebrities couldn't escape because there was always someone with a phone in hand ready to post them.

This was to appeal to the higher-ups and due to the expensive furniture and drinks, this was no poor man's place even though the 50% off deal was still in place for a month.

"Nate, do you need help?" Kyle asked but Nate shook his head with such force that one would think it was about to fall off his neck.

Kyle got the message and walked into a different compartment, the drastic change in design would make anyone think they had walked into a different building altogether.

"Welcome sir, what can I get for you," A young lady greeted him but Kyle chuckled at this.

She was so full of energy, Kyle wanted to make this place like how Jones made that restaurant but didn't want to mix friendship with work.

Even though Mr. Jones would have been the perfect candidate to fill this role.

"Don't mind my daughter, sir. She isn't good with faces," An older man came out of the back.

This man was easily in his late fifties but he had an accent to go with it telling Kyle that this was a foreign chef.

Kyle looked around and saw the place was filled to the brim, people were eating and munching on food like this was their last meal but was this entire place handled by these two alone?

Kyle looked around and saw only two more workers here.

"Is this your team?" Kyle questioned with a raised brow and the man nodded right away to confirm this was the case.

"I expected something bigger, are you sure you won't overwork yourself?" Kyle questioned, showing concern for their health as he understood that pushing yourself too hard when it came to this sort of work could potentially make their body give up on them.

"I like my team small, it allows me to control the flow," The man assured Kyle.

Kyle looked down on his shirt and to his surprise, there was a nametag there already even though the rest didn't have one.

"Antoine," Kyle knew where he was from, he was French but he wondered if he had a secret rat in the kitchen giving him secret recipes.

Kyle wondered what kind of food was being served here but whatever it was, it was doing just fine.

But he knew tasting the food would help him understand why it was doing so well.

"What would you like to have sir?" Antoine asked him directly but Kyle had no idea what was even on the menu.

"You know what Antoine, give me a little of everything," Kyle requested.

He wasn't here to eat because he was hungry but rather to have an idea of what was being served.

-

Jane was hungover, she spent the rest of the night in bed, trying her best to sober up by drinking as much water as she could.

Ella had gone to work, she couldn't babysit her all day and Jane was fine with this.

It was just a hangover so she could take care of herself, she hated that Kyle had to bring them home.

She hated being an inconvenience but was also glad that he cared enough to go out of his way to make sure they were alright.

She stumbled to her feet and just like she suspected, Ella had made food for her.

All she had to do was to warm the food to consume.

"Oh Ella, what would I do without you," Jane praised her before warming the food to consume.

She didn't know what to do with the rest of her day. No, that wasn't right, she was going to text Kyle all day.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C111: Danger Alert?

Kyle tasted the food, and everything on the menu and seeing as he was the owner of the place, everything was free.

These people weren't being paid based on their sales as they didn't rent the building but instead, worked directly under Kyle.

This meant that their income was fixed regardless of their sales so it gave them a lot more freedom because what they would earn monthly was equivalent to the profit they would have made on a good day.

This was a strange business module but making money wasn't the reason this place existed.

Antoine employing his young daughter to work for him was like giving their family two sources of income as Kyle was paying more than the minimum wage.

One could easily make a living off this and with his daughter a mere teenager, this was perfect for her to understand the working force a little bit.

Antoine had a restaurant back in France until he relocated here with his daughter after his wife divorced him.

He had problems since coming here, it wasn't easy establishing a restaurant here in America because there was no way for him to afford the recipes that were on his menu.

It was doomed to fail but this opportunity was something straight out of heaven because it not only saved him but kept his dying recipes alive.

Kyle tasted everything and he was astonished that something this good existed.

This man brought in original recipes and half of the things he tasted were things he had never eaten before.

Kyle couldn't believe something this good existed and he was tempted to ask for more but had to restrain himself because he was simply testing the meals served here.

He was done and he approved of this, these were some of the best meals he had eaten in his life.

Kyle was drawn from this world the moment his phone vibrated in his pocket, Kyle looked at it and was surprised to see a message from Jane.

She rarely started the conversation but this must be her being brave.

Kyle couldn't help but smile at his phone, he opened the message to see what she had sent.

[[Jane: Hi Kyle! I heard about last night and I'm so sorry to have been an inconvenience!]]

[[Kyle: It is alright, I don't mind being your knight in shining armor.]]

[[Jane: Hahaha! Thank you my knight in shining armor. What are you up to today?]]

[[Kyle: I have some business to round up but I don't have anything planned outside of that. Are you missing me?]]

Kyle was smiling at his phone, anyone looking at him would know he was talking to a girl he fancied.

Kyle waited for a response but it took a second later than usual to get one.

[[Jane: If I said yes, would you come?]]

Kyle was surprised that Jane was being this forward but this must have taken courage hence why it took so long for her to type.

She must have thought about it multiple times before hitting send but Kyle wanted her to think a little more.

He stared at the text with a wide smile on his face.

He saw Jane typing but the bubbles soon disappeared indicating that she had erased it.

"So fucking cute," Kyle said under his breath.

[[Kyle: In a heartbeat.]]

Kyle said, he got up and was ready to leave.

He knew part of this attraction was because she missed him but if she could see him whenever she wanted then she wouldn't miss him as much.

She began to type but erased it once again then started to type again but the bubble disappeared.

[[Jane: I miss you.]]

She took over five minutes of typing and erasing to send this, there was no way that three words took over five minutes.

This told Kyle that she was overthinking everything she sent to him but it also told him that she wasn't 100% comfortable with him or this wouldn't be happening.

It was a bittersweet feeling because Kyle knew he would only get this version of her once so it was best to savor it.

Antoine didn't charge Kyle but Kyle gave him a tip equivalent to the bill that would have been given to him if he was charged.

Kyle left the building soon after, it has multiple exists so he didn't need to walk past the club because this place had its exit.

He planned to meet Jane, why not but he ran into someone on his way out. It was Mike.

"What is with the timing today?" Kyle thought to himself. This was the same way he ran into Cassandra's husband and now Mike.

Both were people he didn't like but Mike didn't have that angry look in his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry…" Mike stuttered and Kyle couldn't help but wonder if this was the same problem.

He looked scared but this was none of Kyle's business.

Whatever was bothering him must have been the direct consequence of some action and knowing about his past, he knew he had to be careful around him.

" Kyle?" Mike questioned, he looked confused and Kyle raised a brow because he had been staring right at him throughout.

" Yeah?" Kyle responded in a dismissive tone reminding him that they weren't friends.

" Y-You need to help me, Kyle!" Mike shuddered, grabbing him by the collar.

" And why would I do that?" Kyle asked, breaking his grip on his collar and showing that the gym he had been going to was paying off.

" Because it is about Jane! She is in trouble!" Mike barked and this was enough to get Kyle's attention.

"What do you mean? Explain yourself," Kyle asked in a threatening tone but Mike looked over his shoulder.

"Here isn't safe, follow me," Mike urged him but Kyle didn't trust Mike enough to follow him anywhere; they had something in common and that was Jane.

This was the only reason Kyle followed him, a decision he would soon regret.

Kyle was in a hurry and he followed Mike wherever it was that he was taking him.

He didn't know why he was doing this, if it was anyone else he would have asked questions but this was about Jane.

He could ask questions later; besides, there was no way that Mike was crazy enough to attack him in broad daylight.

The urgency in his voice, this couldn't be an act and if it was, he should be on the screen with Calista Wave.

He followed behind him, he was walking fast but Kyle wondered if he knew where he was.

There was no way he would run into him randomly and present this emergency.

It was too convenient so there was something suspicious about all of this.

"Tell me what the hell is going on, Mike!" Kyle barked, stopping in his tracks but Mike kept going.

"We are almost there! Don't stop!" Mike barked and this made Kyle pick up his pace.

Everything in Kyle was telling him to turn back but there was a chance that all of this was a ruse to get him secluded.

Kyle quickly understood that he had to take action and deal with whatever threat that Mike posed later.

But he noticed the further he followed him, the fewer people there were.

Mike was leading him somewhere to speak but this place was far too secluded, it wasn't like he was about to expose the CIA or something that he would need to take such drastic measures.

This was when Kyle knew something was up and knew he had to take action.

"Hey Mike, where are we going?" Kyle questioned, stopping in his tracks.

"This is far enough…" Mike muttered but his words fell on deaf ears as Kyle was too far to hear him.

He looked around and saw that this place looked like a den for the homeless, if he was going to be ambushed this would be the perfect place.

However, it was absurd that they would attempt something like this in the first place over Jane.

Mike couldn't be this deranged.

"Mike, what is this really about?" Kyle asked but Mke didn't say another word.

Three other people came out behind him with a baseball bat.

Kyle was beginning to understand why Ella was concerned and Mike used his relationship with Jane to bring him here.

"So the story was true," Kyle thought to himself.

Ella had a suspicion that Mike was more than met the eyes and this crowd right here confirmed he just might be scum.

Only degenerates moved with a crowd like this, these men had tattoos all over their bodies and he could tell that these weren't homeless people being paid to attack but actual criminals.

" So what, are you going to kill me?" Kyle asked, chuckling at the absurdity.

" Kill you? I'm not a monster Kyle but I hope you like vegetables," Mike turned and the facial expression he had on his face made even Kyle shudder.

Kyle was scared but he knew he couldn't let them know this.

He had to put up a brave face and knew he couldn't reason with Mike if he was willing to do this.

The man approached him from behind, laughing like hyenas as they dragged their metal bats along the ground but Kyle just froze.

Kyle knew he had to stall for time and the only place available to retreat was if he ran towards Mike but he didn't know what Mike had with him.

There was no way that he would be unharmed in this type of situation but Kyle knew he had to risk it because there was nothing going to save him at this point in time but himself.

If Mike was willing to go this far to get him away from Jane then he was right. Jane was in danger but the threat was him. There was no way in hell Kyle was about to leave Jane with this monster even if it meant him becoming a vegetable, he was going to take Mike down with him.

"Hurry up! " Kyle thought to himself right before the men charged at him and Mike acted as an observer with a grotesque grin on his face.

-

Nate was working when he suddenly received a notification from Kyle out of the blue.

Kyle never sent him a message and always called him when they had something to talk about so this was out of character for him.

He opened the message and saw that Kyle had simply shared his location.

He was out of the store and in what people would deem the bad part of Los Angeles.

Nate had to look at his phone closely to see if his eyes were deceiving him because Kyle was here only minutes ago.

"This is strange," Nate thought to himself because he knew that the only reason Kyle would share his location would be because he was either in danger or wanted him to come and find him.

Nate ran to the compartment that Kyle had entered.

"Where is Kyle!?" Nate asked, the urgency in his voice palpable.

"He left with a man not long ago," Antoine's daughter responded, oblivious to the situation at hand.

Nate realized that Kyle might be in danger and there was no way he was going to let something happen to him because Kyle wasn't only a man he had grown to respect but his direct source of income.

Nate hurried and dialed 911.

Unlike Kyle, Nate had a little fighting experience and could hold his own should a fight break out.

Nate gave the dispatcher all the information they needed while also sharing the live location that Kyle had shared with him.

Nate knew that Kyle would have called him if he could talk so the fact that he didn't even bother trying to reach him might be because he couldn't.

The last thing he would want was to call Kyle and they ask him to get rid of the phone.

Nate hurried to the location himself, shut the shop behind him, hopped on his bicycle and cycled in that direction.

Kyle knew he had to buy time but the men approaching him had a single mission and that was to turn him into a brain-dead vegetable.

But then he remembered he had money, that was the ultimate power in the end.

"Are you sure you want to attack me when I can change your lives?" Kyle offered, his composure gave them the impression that he wasn't scared.

This helped in his stance as he noticed that they reacted to this, momentarily stopping in their tracks with a raised brow.

"What the fuck does this little bitch mean?" One of the men asked.

"$10,000,000? $20,000,000? Is it $50,000,000? Each?" Kyle questioned because he found a language that they finally responded to.

"There is no way he has that kind of money. Are you people buying it?" Mike dismissed it because he truly believed that Kyle was bluffing.

There was no way this man had that much sitting in his bank account, it was ridiculous.

The men continued to walk towards him, Kyle simply laughed because the men continued walking towards him with the bat in hand.

"Let's make this fun, how about I put a bounty on Mikey-boy there and the first person to bash his head in gets $100,000,000? And if I don't pay up, you could just kill me," Kyle shrugged.

The men became hesitant and Mike could no longer tell if Kyle was bluffing or not.

"Prove it to us you shit fuck!" The second man of the three barked but they all had one thing in common and that was their foul mouth.

The last thing Kyle expected from them was etiquette and knew they would need proof.

He took out his phone and tossed it towards them, they caught it and the men all gathered to see what he was trying to show them.

"Holy fucking hell!? Is that real!?" The third man out of the three questioned and Mike was beginning to sense that he might be in danger.

"Wait! Did you mean that shit about giving $100,000,000 to who bashes that fucker's head in?" The first man asked to which Kye simply nodded.

Kyle had sent his location to Nate the moment he sensed something was off but only thought to buy his way out of it as a last resort.

He wanted to buy time but he didn't know they would go for it.

"I'm sorry Mike, I know you will understand," They said as they handed Kyle back his phone while walking past him, headed right towards Mike.

"I knew something like this might happen, you cunts are fucking useless! I can't rely on anybody! I hope the money was worth your lives," Mike muttered.

The men charged towards him but three loud bangs rang out and they all dropped to the ground.

"W-Wai-!" One of the men tried to plead but Mike put a bullet right through his skull without flinching.

"What the fuck!? Did he just fucking kill them?" Kyle thought to himself.

He wasn't aware that Mike was a fucking killer or he wouldn't have attempted this because he now had the nozzle of a gun pointed right at him.

"I didn't want to kill you, Kyle. I know it may be hard to believe but I liked you," Mike blurted out.

"So what, are you going to kill me?" Kyle asked.

"Even in the face of death! You look so cool! At least beg or something for fuck's sake!" Mike barked with a look of disbelief.

"You want me to beg? Is that it? You want me to beg you to spare my life?" Kyle scoffed.

In reality, it was taking everything in him not to piss himself but once again, he couldn't give him that satisfaction.

He was beginning to realize that Mike felt small and he needed to feel superior to him before executing him.

Kyle knew he needed to stall for as long as possible.

"Get on your fucking knees!" Mike barked at him, Kyle noticed that the men he had killed.

He shot two with perfect accuracy, hitting them right in the head.

These were moving targets so he had experience with a gun and there was no way he could take him off guard either.

Kyle knew he would be shot in the head before he could take a step and there was no universe where he was faster than a bullet.

Kyle got on his knees, he couldn't agitate him even more or he might lose his cool and just put a bullet in his head.

"Now beg me to spare your miserable life," Mike screamed, waving the gun at him.

"Do you know what Jane said about you?" Kyle began and he knew there was no way he wouldn't want to know. That was the power of a curious mind.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Mike asked.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. She told me how she feels about you," Kyle said with a satisfied smile.

"I hope you don't think stalling for time will save you-!" Kyle knew he had to tell him something that would keep his mouth shut and he knew just what to say..

"I know about the girl you raped… Oh, Mike, the little rapist," Kyle teased him but with this information, there was no way for him to know if someone didn't tell him and he assumed that someone was Jane.

"Who the fuck told you that!?" Mike was losing his cool but this was what Kyle was hoping for, he needed an opening.

"Who else? Jane and guess what? She believed the accusations," Kyle said with a satisfied smile.

"You see? Killing me or not makes no difference, you will never get Jane!" Kyle mocked him.

"SHUT UP!" Mike screamed at the top of his lungs but an opening presented itself at this moment. He reached for the gun but a loud bang echoed in the distance with blood spilling onto the ground but whose?

The gunshots echoed, and Nate, who was close to the area, heard them. This was when he understood the urgency of the situation.

Nate stopped the moment he did because there was a chance that these were the police.

The last thing he would want was to be caught in the crossfire but he hadn't heard any sirens.

It would make sense that the police arrived first considering how dangerous this area was

There was no way the police car wouldn't be nearby, and if they got the amber alert, then Nate had done all he could, but he had to trust the cops to do their job now.

He checked Kyle's location and noticed he was no longer moving.

He was stationary but Nate knew that Kyle should be able to survive long enough for the police to get to him.

He had to get off the road and this was why he opted to take shortcuts, he wasn't a stranger to this terrain either.

He had been here when he was younger even though the area wasn't in this state back then as it had become a den for criminals.

He saw multiple homeless people strung out on drugs and alcohol littered everywhere on the road.

This allowed him to move faster and undetected, he hoped Kyle was okay because he knew he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if he wasn't.

It took a little over a minute for Nate to close in on the target and in no time, he arrived at the location but there was nothing in sight.

Nate's body recoiled the moment he saw three dead bodies, there was no sign of a struggle because he didn't know that the police would attempt to go for the kill shot against people holding bats.

But he wasn't surprised, this was a common theme in America, and the value of human life was equivalent to a trending meme.

Nate wanted to run away but this was where Kyle's location ended so there was no doubt he was here but where?

Nate couldn't establish any visuals on him but managed to find his phone on the floor but what was more worrying was the trail of blood along the floor.

There was no sign of the police, if the police were the ones responsible, there was no way in hell they wouldn't secure the area.

That could only mean one thing, this wasn't done by the police.

Nate gulped; realizing that he might have bitten off more than he could chew but why was it taking the police so long to get here?

Nate decided to follow the blood trail because he knew time was the enemy.

"Kyle, what the hell have you gotten yourself into!?" Nate questioned, picking up one of the metal bars on the floor just in case he would need it, parking his bicycle some distance away.

Nate followed the blood trail into a rundown house, he didn't like the way things were looking but who did the blood belong to? But who would find them first? Nate or the police?

-

A few minutes prior to Nate arriving at the scene, a gunshot echoed the moment Kyle reached for the gun but Mike had missed.

He involuntarily pulled the trigger upon being startled by Kyle, this allowed Kyle to tackle him to the ground, inadvertently knocking the gun out of his hand.

They struggled on the ground for dominance, Kyle managed to land a few punches to his face but Mike was much stronger than him so there was only so much he could do in this situation.

It was only a matter of time before Mike regained control of the situation, knocking Kyle off him.

Kyle rolled on the floor but was closer to the gun than Mike.

Kyle dashed towards the gun, he didn't know if he was capable of killing a man but was about to find out.

But Kyle underestimated Mike, Mike displayed speed that shouldn't be possible for his body size.

He sprung to his feet and dashed towards the gun, Kyle got to it first and pointed it in Mike's direction but Mike slammed his foot right into Kyle's face, fracturing his jaw and sending him reeling.

This force nearly knocked him out but Kyle held on to his sanity as best as he could.

He knew that Mike was the real deal and needed to get out of here

He was no match for this monster and that was when he chose flight because he couldn't even reach his phone at this point.

There was a sharp pain in his rib and upon closer observations, he saw that Mike had a bloodied knife in his right hand.

Kyle clutched his abdomen and blood was spilling out of it but he still had the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He needed to get out before it subsided.

At that moment, he knew he had been stabbed but the adrenaline running through his body didn't let him feel the pain and Kyle took off.

He ran in a zig-zag formation and this made it harder for Mike to hit his mark, he fired a bullet or two before running out but none of those bullets hit their mark as it narrowly missed Kyle.

Before long, Kyle was out of sight, taking a sharp turn but Mike wasn't about to let him get away.

He had seen too much and if he reported to the authorities, there was no doubt that he had the influence to force these cops into action.

"You can't run forever, you fucker! You once told me you would put a bullet between my eyes. Isn't it funny Kyle? That I'm the one about to do that," Mike shouted.

He knew Kyle couldn't go far and the trail of blood on the ground gave away his location no matter how fast he ran.

He would eventually succumb to his wound and the game of cat and mouse began.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C115: Dead Or Alive? Where Is Kyle!?

Jane was getting worried, it had been over thirty minutes without hearing from him.

Kyle wasn't one to go silent for this long so there had to be a reason for this.

She tried to call him but for some reason, it didn't go through and she couldn't understand why.

It went straight to voicemail but this shouldn't be the case because the phone was being tracked or was it?

The answer was no, Kyle's phone had gone off shortly after Nate had left the area.

This wasn't because of a low battery either so there was no way for Nate to have anticipated it.

Jane was worried and had no other way to contact Kyle, she didn't know any of his friends that she could reach to check in on him.

And there was only one person she could call to support her in this situation, that was Ella.

"Pick up! Pick up!" Jane muttered to herself, pacing around the house.

[[Hello Jane, are you alright?]]

"No! I'm freaking out! I think something bad happened to Kyle," Jane fired immediately.

She didn't hold back because she was aware that this was out of character for him and she couldn't explain it either but her gut feeling told her that he was in trouble.

[[What do you mean he is in trouble? What's going on Jane!?]] Ella was concerned.

She grew to like Kyle and there was no reason why she would be unaffected by any misfortune that befell him.

"He was supposed to meet me but I haven't heard anything from him and his phone isn't going through. I can't shake it but I feel something is wrong," Jane responded.

[[Or his phone could be dead? You do this a lot Jane…]] Ella called her out.

This was one of Jane's negative traits when she liked someone, she became affected by every single thing that they did.

She couldn't help her overthinking and Ella had to stop her friend's mind from spiraling out of control.

"You're right, he is probably fine…" Jane responded, taking a deep breath to calm her mind.

[[Now what do you plan to do with Kyle today?]] Ella diverted the conversation from her friend's fear while still keeping Kyle as the topic of the conversation.

"I don't know… I haven't thought about it…" Jane confessed.

And now that she was thinking about it, it gave her anxiety because the last thing she would want Kyle to think was she was boring.

She had to entertain him like he managed to entertain her, what would she even cook?

Would she be able to cook as good as him?

She couldn't use the same method he used and Ella could tell by her silence that she was overthinking it.

[[No need to overthink it, the best moments are those that happen spontaneously.]] Ella reassured her.

"You're right. Thank you so much, Ella," Jane showed her gratitude before hanging up the phone.

She still couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong and little did she know, she was right.

-

Nate had done the smart thing, he took Kyle's phone with him so the police would track him directly through the GPS.

But the phone died and by doing this, Nate had inadvertently thrown off the police tracking him because they had to use a different path to intercept him.

The blood trail would have been found if the phone had been left there, the police couldn't reach there with their vehicles and would have had to use their foot but they would have been able to track the blood trail.

But by Nate taking the phone, the police no longer had any reason to come to that specific location and simply took a different route to intercept this signal.

And that would throw them off the blood trail, the place the signal was lost was during the time that Nate had taken a wrong turn.

This meant that there was no police coming, at least not for a while.

-

Nate found the end of the trail, it was within a building that looked abandoned, he was frightened and his heart was thumping as well.

Nate knew the police were coming but didn't know how long it would take for them to come here.

This worried him but even in the movies, the police never came on time.

They only came when the chaos was all over but Nate was hoping that this wouldn't be the case.

He was confident in his fighting ability but if there was a gun involved then the chances that he would be successful was close to zero unless he could somehow catch the assailant with a sneak attack.

That was his only hope of coming out of this situation alive, he pushed the door open and the place was dark.

Nate could barely see the trail, the blood was being absorbed by the dusty ground.

All he was met with was darkness and silence.

"... Kyle?" Nate called out in a whisper, taking out his phone and triggering the flashlight but he didn't need to search for long because he heard a painful grunt coming from behind a door that was barely standing.

"Kyle?" Nate called out once again, clutching his bat with one hand because he didn't know who or what was behind that door.

He called Kyle but he wasn't getting any response, he tried to open the door but realized it was locked from within.

"Huh…? Nate muttered the moment his feet came into contact with something damp.

At that moment, he knew whoever was behind that door would give him the answer.

Nate tried to force it open but to no avail. Luckily, he had a metal baseball bat and the old wooden door must have taken a beat just moments ago because it looked like it was on the verge of breaking.

Nate began to pound away at the door with the bat until the door gave way and what he saw next was horrid.

It was Kyle curled up in a puddle of his blood.

Kyle had been stabbed but the good news was that he was still breathing.

He managed to get away from Mike by locking himself behind this door and with Mike running out of bullets.

He had to break through the door to get to Kyle but he couldn't get through.

He saw that Kyle was bleeding out either way so there was a near 2% chance he would survive but this was only because he didn't know that Kyle had taken precautionary measures already.

Kyle's quick thinking might have potentially saved his life but he wasn't out of the woods yet.

Nate was terrified, he quickly took out his phone and dialed 911 once again to ask for an ambulance.

He didn't care about the police anymore but the police nearby received this alert.

They knew it had to be related to the case they had been sent to handle.

This allowed them to reach the location a lot sooner.

Nate noted that Kyle had lost a lot of blood, it was a miracle he was still conscious.

Kyle's body was getting cold and something told him that if he allowed him to sleep, he wasn't going to wake up.

"Kyle! Stay with me!" Nate barked at him, but he had to be careful.

He didn't know why but the thought of someone attempting to take his life was frightening.

Nate couldn't believe that someone would go through this length, he didn't know Kyle all that but murder was crossing the line.

If Kyle hadn't locked himself here, he would have been slaughtered, the only thing that saved him was the door.

Nate didn't know if he was to move Kyle from his location or leave him.

He didn't know the extent of his injury but he saw where Kyle's limb hand was.

He quickly raised his shirt and noticed it was a stab wound.

Nate immediately removed his shirt and pressed it against the wound to apply as much pressure as he could.

Kyle didn't even react to the pain anymore because his body was numb.

But the sirens outside told Nate that it was only a matter of time.

"IN HERE!!!" Nate screamed at the top of his lungs and they rushed in.

The police officers on the scene immediately spread out to secure the area.

They had to make sure that the threat wasn't around.

The police officers heard faint gunshots but they were too far away to pinpoint it.

And with this area being a haven for crime, this wasn't a strange occurrence.

Police officers tended to stay out of their place unless they were specifically called.

An officer pulled Nate away from Kyle, taking over the first aid.

It was only a matter of time before his body went into shock, he had lost too much blood.

"Stay with me sir," The officer tried his best to reassure him in the calmest voice he could muster.

Another set of sirens echoed outside, these were the ambulances and they had arrived faster than the police did.

It showed that the dispatcher had already sent an ambulance their way during Nate's first call.

The second call simply helped them confirm his current location, this was the ultimate reason why they had arrived so fast.

They quickly placed an oxygen mask around his face before putting him on a stretcher and carting him away.

Nate tried to follow him but the police officers needed more information at that moment.

They also needed to allow the paramedics to do their jobs and they wouldn't be able to do that with Nate in the ambulance being a nuisance.

But the big question was, would Kyle make it?

That question was answered moments later as his heart flatlined.

"We have lost him! Begin chest compressions!" One of the paramedics commanded and the desperate attempt to save his life began.

If Kyle died, there would be no way to tie Mike to the murders unless Antoine had taken a good look at him.

He was the only loose end.

-

Calista's stand showed her that she did have a say in the way the movie plays out as long as it deviated from the original plotline.

This included the kissing scene, which was returned to the script they had presented.

She noticed that Lorenzo looked relieved as well which was surprising, she expected him to jump at the chance to have that kind of access to her.

But this wasn't a problem, she didn't see it as a bad thing– quite the opposite.

"I'm so relieved you spoke up, I could never do that," Lorenzo confessed the moment that Calista was having this thought, it was almost like he read her mind.

The other cast looked at her with a sign of respect as well because it wasn't only her script that had been perverted.

This single brave act would ultimately shape how she was perceived in this studio.

"I didn't do much, I just said what we were all thinking," Calista tried her best to be humble.

"We thought it and you said it," Lorenzo responded.

"I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate me locking lips with a woman as beautiful as you on my first major movie," Lorenzo added and there it was.

" You're gay? I would never have guessed!" Calista exclaimed, shocked at this sudden revelation but it made sense.

"You expected me to be some sassy drama queen?" Lorenzo questioned, he spoke like a normal person but this allowed Calista to heave a huge sigh of relief.

If he was into men then there was nothing to worry about but she also knew that bisexual people existed so she couldn't be too relaxed.

Hollywood depicted a certain way over the years and that's effeminate.

The man before he was anything but that, he had a masculine air around him but did these people cast him knowing that? But once again, like he could read her thoughts, he responded.

He placed his finger over his lips before whispering.

"It is a secret,"

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C117: Grim Reaper... Teased.

Nate closed down the section to the building he was responsible for, he didn't know what else to do because business couldn't come to a standstill.

He didn't want anyone to know what had happened until he had to reveal this information.

Nate tried to together if someone suspicious had entered the club last night or if Kyle had any altercation that would make someone want to hurt him.

How did the person manage to get Kyle to follow them?

It had to be someone he knew or Kyle might have raised an alarm.

No. What if the person threatened to shoot up the place and Kyle had no choice but to follow them?

He was a rich man that just opened a club walking around without security.

However, no one could tell he was wealthy simply by looking at him but this was the only thing Nate could do.

Kyle was in the ICU, he wondered if Kyle had any family to call or otherwise.

The hospital would have contacted his next of kin but it had been a few hours and no one had come.

Nate would imagine that they would drop everything and rush towards the hospital the moment they heard their loved one was in danger.

But that wasn't the case, Kyle was fighting for his life and he had no one but Nate.

This robbed Nate the wrong way but there was nothing he could do about it but be present for him.

The fact that he was in the ICU right away, was a reflection of how urgent this situation was.

But a doctor soon came out and he had a grim expression.

Nate hoped that he was simply exhausted rather than having some bad news.

"Are you the one responsible for the patient who came in earlier?" the doctor asked, to which Nate nodded.

He heaved a loud sigh. This was the same doctor who had taken care of Ella on that fateful day.

So in a sense, he knew Kyle.

"I'm happy to say that the patient is stable but has lost too much blood," The man reported.

Nate didn't know if he should be relieved or not, losing too much blood couldn't be a good thing.

"Do you need my blood!?" Nate questioned, the desperation in his voice telling the doctor he would do anything.

"There is no need to worry about that. Our blood bank is taking care of that," The doctor pointed out and he doubted that Nate could donate.

Kyle had one of the rarest blood types, AB- and they knew that if they transfused the limited blood in their bank, they could potentially have a new donor.

But before the conversation could develop any further, Jane and Ella came busting through the day.

Nate recognized both ladies from last night.

"Where is he!? How's he!?" Jane questioned, ignoring everyone around her as she went straight to the familiar doctor.

The self-conscious Jane no longer cares about how she is perceived at that moment.

The doctor had called them because he didn't have anyone to call regarding Kyle when he was initially brought in, Nate only came hours after the call.

"He is fine. Unconscious but fine, the surgery was successful," The doctor reassured her.

"H-How did this happen?" Ella questioned.

They were both out of breath suggesting that they had run here.

"I'm afraid I cannot go into details but it appears the patient was stabbed but it just missed his vital organ, an inch deeper and we would have had a different outcome," The doctor confessed.

However, he reassured them everything would be alright before leaving the vicinity.

"You… You were at the club last night," Jane pointed out.

Unlike Ella, she wasn't aware that Kyle was the owner of the place.

"That is right. I also remember you too…" Nate said, pausing as he stole a glance at Ella.

She was even more beautiful than he remembered but now wasn't the time for such thoughts.

"Kyle and I are… friends," Nate introduced himself but the pause before the last sentence made it sound like he was uncertain about their relationship.

He wondered why Kyle chose him of all people. He trusted him with his life and that wasn't something Nate was ever going to take for granted.

Nate explained the situation to them in great detail before he could complete the story.

Jane hugged upon realizing that this man right here had saved his life.

"Thank you so much!" Jane sobbed. The thought was scary because she could have lost Kyle.

Ella realized, at that moment, that Jane's worry earlier that day must have been about this.

She felt guilty that she dismissed it because what if Kyle had died?

Ella knew she would never forgive herself if that happened but who would want to hurt him?

That was the big question.

-

The assailant, Mike, returned home to clean himself. He didn't know why Jane made him do this.

If only she agreed to go out with him then none of this would have happened but he had removed the problem.

Mike truly believed that he had done the right thing and there was a slim chance that he was already dead.

Mike was certain that he struck a vital organ but Kyle's body jerked back at the last second, this was unknown to Mike or he would have finished the job.

He stabbed and twisted it within to open up the wound, if that knife made contact with a vital organ, there was no way Kyle would survive even with the paramedics in play as it would have been too late.

Mike hummed and danced in front of a mirror with a broad smile on his face

He tossed his clothes inside the washing machine but Kyle's suspicions about Mike were spot on.

Mike was a dangerous man that needed to be stopped but he was even better at covering his tracks as he muttered under his breath.

"One more…"

Kyle was unconscious but that didn't mean his mind was dead so where was it?

Unlike the nightmares he has been having, Kyle couldn't voluntarily wake up from this.

But unlike his previous nightmares, he was self-aware that he was in a dream.

Kyle had no idea this time, to him, what he was experiencing was as real as it gets.

He was a boy, no more than seven, seated on a deserted table.

The pieces of furniture were worn out, there was no way that this apartment was healthy enough to live in.

Yet a child was on the table with a bowl of cereal right in front of him and the sound of a radio blasting off in the distance.

"You stupid bitch! I told you to get rid of it but you don't fucking listen now look at the mess we are in!" A man barked behind the door.

"Don't speak that way about him! He is your son!" A woman screamed back.

"My son? I'm not even sure that thing is human! Fuck it! I'm done!" The man screamed.

Kyle just sat there, eating his cereal, unmoved by everything he had heard.

This was a frequent occurrence in this household and the fact that he was being blamed for their unfortunate predicament showed that they weren't ready for a child.

Kyle was the repercussion of unprotected sex by two young people who hadn't even figured life out.

One wanted to keep it, the other wanted to get rid of it but unfortunately for the man, there was nothing that he could do about it.

"My choice, my body" This was the beginning of the hatred he had for Kyle because his family was in support of his then-girlfriend so he had no choice but to be a father to Kyle.

The door opened and a woman came into view but her features couldn't be made up.

She was a black silhouette, he couldn't make out any of her features.

The woman was sobbing and once again, Kyle just sat there eating his cereal.

He was unaffected by everything going on around him or would it be more accurate to say that he was dissociating?

"Maybe he is right… Maybe I should have gotten rid of you," The lady said and before Kyle knew it, the cereal in front of him that was swimming in milk soon turned red.

"Huh?" Kyle thought to himself and before he could compose his words, hands shot out from the bowl and dragged him in.

Kyle found himself drowning, he couldn't see or breathe, and he struggled but to no avail.

There was no way that his smaller body could put up much of a fight because of his smaller body.

Kyle managed to come up for air and found himself in a bathtub with a woman's hands around his neck.

"Mama?" These words inadvertently left his lips before being plunged into the water once again.

This was the woman who had defended his existence moments ago so why was she the one trying to kill him?

He could hear her muffled words beneath the water but could not make out what it was she was saying.

"I should have listened to your father! You don't deserve to live!" The female silhouette screamed.

Kyle recognized it, it was the same one he saw in the dark, there was something familiar about it and that was because she was his mother.

Kyle gave up the moment he saw it was his mother, he stopped fighting.

She was right, he hadn't done anything but bring her pain and his body covered in bruises showed that he acted as a tool for her abuse.

It wasn't always this way, his mother once loved him. In a twisted sense, Kyle believed she still did because she still had use for him even if it was to act as an outlet for her abuse.

But it became increasingly worse when his father abandoned them.

She hated Kyle because she began to see everything the man said, she sacrificed her education to raise him.

But he was soon brought up for air with the woman sobbing and apologizing.

"I'm so sorry! Mommy is sorry! I'm sorry!" She pleaded, hugging her soaked son for forgiveness.

However, in response to this, all Kyle did was smile because it confirmed that his mother still had use for him– she still loved him.

-

Jane and Ella stayed there in the hospital with Nate returning to work, he used this opportunity to give Ella his number. Informing her to contact him should the situation change here.

"How're you feeling?" Ella asked Jane but Jane was lost in thought.

"Jane?" Ella called out her name, gently placing her hand on hers to slowly ease her back to reality.

"I-I'm sorry, I was just thinking about…" Jane was visibly worried, she couldn't believe that someone tried to kill Kyle. But the thought of losing him made her heart ache beyond comprehension.

"It is fine… Everything will be fine," Ella assured her but there was no way for her to know this.

She knew Kyle was a rich man so there was no way that he wouldn't make any enemies but how bad must it be to try and take his life in broad daylight?

Jane began to sob, Ella couldn't blame her, she wasn't as close to Kyle as Jane and even she was greatly affected by this.

Ella held Jane in her arms, stroking her hair gently to comfort her as best as she could.

She knew silence was the best course of action right now, all that they needed to do was be there for Kyle when he woke up.

Ella told herself that she would never question Jane's intuition again.

They were glad that the ordeal was over or was it just beginning? That was to be seen because they saw the police walking into the hospital.

"Hm…" Ella thought to herself, she didn't allow Jane to see them because this would only make her overthink but there was no way that they were coming to take Kyle away.

HAREM SYSTEM: SPENDING MONEY ON WOMEN FOR 100% REBATE!C119: A New Target? [Trigger Warning!]

Ella and Jane spent the entire day in the hospital, Ella had seen the police and eventually, Jane saw them as well but only after she had calmed down.

Kyle was still unconscious so there wasn't anything the police could do but this attack looked like he was targeted.

It wasn't just a random robbery but an assassination attempt, the fact that Kyle would have ended in a worse state if he hadn't fought back.

He couldn't imagine living the rest of his life as a vegetable and instead, chose to fight.

If he was going to have his life ruined, he wanted to do so by fighting.

Kyle made a decision that saved his life because there was no way he would have seen this coming. But he was alive so that was enough for him.

He thought that Mike was simply a man taken by love but didn't know he was willing to go this far just because his ego was hurt.

Kyle was trapped in a nightmare, reliving the memories he had forced himself to forget, a never-ending loop of abuse and torment.

Kyle's father never laid a hand on him, all the physical abuse was from his mother because the older he got, the more he looked like his dad.

His mother saw him as a constant reminder of the man she had grown to hate and to cope with their hatred, she used Kyle as the placeholder of the abuse she wished she wished she could inflict on him.

It was a never-ending cycle of abuse and this ultimately warped Kyle's perception of what love should be like.

But in the end, his mother couldn't take it anymore and decided to imprint an image that triggered him to repress every memory leading up to that point.

Kyle came home from one of his daily hustles, he assisted his mother with the bills as best as he could but he was just 7, and what he could do was severely limited.

He earned way below the minimum wage but as a kid, he shouldn't even be working at all.

"Mama! I'm back!" Kyle exclaimed, excited by his haul today but he got no response from her.

Kyle assumed she was out and decided to pour himself some cereal and milk but they had run out of milk.

Kyle didn't know what else to do, so he took the plastic jug of milk and walked over to the sink, pouring some water inside and shaking it.

He returned to his chair and poured it into his cereal– it was more water than milk but it had to do.

Kyle ate and slept for a few hours but when he woke up, his mother was nowhere to be seen.

Kyle wasn't in a hurry to find her because she disappeared for days at a time forcing him to take care of himself.

This was no way for a 7-year-old to live but after a week, there was a disgusting smell coming from his mother's room.

Kyle never went there, she forbade him from entering but the smell was so bad that he had no choice.

Kyle broke his mother's rule and entered her room only to see her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling.

She was already decomposing and at that moment, Kyle's memory fractured.

This was the moment that Kyle forced himself to forget every traumatic event he had gone through reshaping his childhood with false memories.

-

Night had fallen and Antonio was leaving the area with his daughter.

Their shift was over and another set of people would take over for the rest of the night.

People personally approved of him because it was his kitchen so they followed his rules.

He was glad that Kyle came into his life because there was no telling what kind of future awaited him if Kyle didn't show up when he did.

Antonio needed to get some sleep and knew that his daughter would be a nuisance without him around.

Antonio didn't have a car, he couldn't afford one but didn't need to because he lived just around the corner.

He thought about these moments as an opportunity to bond with his daughter who would soon be off to college, this was why he preferred walking home rather than hailing a cab even if it took a little longer.

However, this might be a different night because someone was lurking in the darkness.

Antonio would come to regret this decision because the same man who put Kyle in the hospital was ultimately after his life.

This was clearly not Mike's first time taking a life, he was too calm and composed.

He must have done this numerous times but if he was about this life, what was he doing working in an Apple store?

The man and his daughter took multiple turns and they ultimately ran into Mike standing right in front of them.

Mike barged into him and the man quickly apologized, looking Mike right in the eye but the way he looked at him, Antonio had no idea how this was.

Mike could tell by the way he reacted and he had a choice to make.

Mike let him walk past him because any other thing he did, he risked leaving an impression but who remembers the random stranger you bumped into in the road? No one but if that stranger attempted to interact with you, he leaves an impression that allows you to recall that event with greater detail.

Mike realized that going on a killing spree would no doubt attract attention and if this man didn't know who he was, there was no need to harm.

Mike heaved a sigh of relief with a broad smile on his face.

"Get it together Mike, we have gotten rid of that fucker," Mike thought to himself but only if he knew that he failed in his assassination attempt on Kyle.

He would have been far more cautious with how he walked around on the street.
