Chapter 34: [34] Blood Moon!
Levi, meanwhile, found his own secluded cave far from Ivory's. He activated the 'Veil of Shadows,' and covered himself with the cloak, its light-absorbing properties rendering him completely invisible to any outside surveillance.
He was finally safe to check his own rewards.
"System, use a spin."
[Better Luck Next Time! Please Try Again!]
He sighed. As expected.
"Again!"
[Better Luck Next Time! Please Try Again!]
Levi's face twitched slightly.
It seemed his luck with the lottery ran in extreme streaks. He shrugged it off. He had one spin, the one he had earned from killing the Stone-Shelled Titan.
"One last time," he muttered. "Use the spin."
[Congratulations! Ranked Technique: Divine Asura Cooking Art]
Levi stared at the notification speechlessly.
'Cooking?'
What was he supposed to do with this? Open a restaurant? He was about to curse his luck when he saw the description.
It was a cooking technique that allowed the user to cook the flesh of dimensional beasts to not only create food of unparalleled taste but also to perfectly extract and preserve 100% of the creature's Astra energy and special properties, infusing them into the meal when cultivated to the highest level.
The Blazewing rabbit he had just eaten probably only gave Ivory one-hundredth of its true essence. With this art, he could actually create meals that were as good as ranked serums!
Levi let out a dry laugh. It was a strange prize, but an incredibly useful one. He still had one more spin, the one from killing the dark cultivators.
He decided to use it now, while his luck seemed to be on a weird streak.
[Congratulations! You have won a High-Grade Prize!]
[Tier II Relic: Sky Piercer Spear]
"Eh? A weapon?"
Levi was slightly surprised. This was the first time he was getting a weapon. It would have been good if it was a cleaver though.
He opened his hands and the spear materialized above his palms.
It was a beautiful dark, two-meter-long spear.
It's body seemed to have been made of out ir a strange, dark metallic material and the spear tip made from a silver iron like material.
It was flexible and strong at the same time.
Levi stabbed at the cave wall and with little force, the cave wall was easily pierced through like hot knife to butter.
————
Deep within the dimensional zone, just at the center of the entire event, far from the students fighting dimensional monsters, a crazy scene was actually taking place!
At the very center of the forest, in a clearing, a few people wearing the Tier II Cloak 'Veil Of Shadows'.
They were the members of the Ancient Ground of Dark Matter, the dark cultivators who had snuck into the trial.
Their leader, a tall man whose face was hidden by hood, stood before an altar. The altar was made of black bones and was covered in foul-smelling, dark-red blood.
Around the altar, his followers placed the materials for their ritual which were pulsing monster hearts, still warm, that beat with a sick rhythm.
There were precious gems, bones, herbs and a few other materials.
The leader raised his hands, his voice was gruff as it sounded through the entire clearing.
"It's time for payback. Today, we will burn their garden to the ground. We will cleanse the future of these pests before they have a chance to grow."
"Cleanse them before they grow!"
"Cleanse them before they grow!!"
"Cleanse them before they grow!!!"
His followers suddenly began to chant. The leader took a sharp dagger and sliced his own palm, letting his dark, thick blood drip onto the altar.
The moment his blood touched the stone, the ritual began.
"BOOM!"
The monster hearts on the altar exploded like fireworks. The blood-inscribed gems shattered, releasing a sudden wave of dark red energy that went up into the sky, transforming into a beam of red light.
—————
Across the entire dimensional zone, the students that were busy fighting for their lives, suddenly felt something as the area energy within the environment surveyed like a flood. They all suddenly looked up at the sky.
The three moons that were both two silver and a single one red, suddenly began to change.
At this moment, the silver moons started to bleed, their pure silvery color started to change color first from pink and then started to change to red.
Soon, all three moons were the color of freshly spilled blood. There were in the sky like three blood red eyes glancing down at the world.
The sky itself followed, as the moon turns everything red blood.
The Blood Frenzy Moon.
It was actually the Blood Frenzy Moon.
It was a rare and terrifying event that happens once in a hundred years. And the last one that happened was twenty years ago so this wasn't supposed to happen.
But this one was not natural. It was actually been forced.
The gravity of the entire world suddenly increased, actually becoming fifty percent heavier than before.
A student who was in the middle of a leap suddenly found himself pulled down with immense force, and as he landed, his legs actually fractured under the unexpected pressure.
Another student, who was already tired, felt the pressure and his body slammed to the ground, unable to even stand the sudden pressure.
But that was only the beginning. The world itself woke up, and it was filled with hate for humans.
The massive, ancient trees, which had been quiet all along actually suddenly began to move.
Their branches suddenly twisted and sharpened, becoming weapons that lashed out at any student nearby.
Their roots tore through the ground like massive snakes, wrapping around the legs of anyone who stood still for too long. The tall grasses became a field of sharp, spiky vines that cut and tore at flesh.
But that wasn't all at all, the beast had significant changes.
The dimensional monsters, which had been fighting with animal-like instinct, suddenly went berserk.
Their eyes began to glow with a furious red light. Their muscles bulged, and their bodies grew slightly larger.
A wave of pure, mindless rage washed over them, and their strength instantly tripled. They no longer felt pain. They no longer felt fear as their strength increased by a significant amount.
A Rank 2 beast now had the power of a peak Rank 3. A Rank 4 beast now fought with the overwhelming strength of a peak Rank 5.
And an ordinary powerful Rank 5 beast was now a terrifying monster with the strength of a peak Rank 6.
The entire food chain had been thrown into chaos, and the students were now at the very bottom.
Worst of all, the beasts began to move together 1'd actually didn't attack each other.
Driven by a single, mindless command that resonated in their brains to kill all human beings without hesitation!

Chapter 35: [35] Nightmare Dimension!
In a small clearing, a young female student had just managed to kill a Rank 3 Spine-Thorn Lizard.
She was panting, her left arm was bleeding profusely but she managed to contract her muscles and reduce the blood flow, but she was incredibly happy as she had finally passed the round.
But then her face changed as she looked up and saw a Rank 4 Wind Razor Wolf staring at her from the branch of a massive tree.
It was the Wind Razor Wolf beast she had been avoiding since it got her scent, it was standing at the edge of the clearing.
But now, it was different now. Its fur was now tinged with blood, its eyes were gleaming with a hellish red color, and its energy wave was more than twice as strong as before.
Her face instantly changed and she immediately reached for her badge, ready to activate the shield and escape.
Her blood entered the badge and it glowed faintly for half a second, then in that moment, it suddenly fizzled out as the glow died completely.
Her face changed slightly and she tried immediately spat out a spoonful of blood and spit on the badge but the same thing happened!
Her face suddenly turned pale. The teleportation wasn't working.
The beast didn't let her react as it let out a terrifying howl and charged. She didn't even have time to scream as it descended on her.
Across the entire zone, the same story was repeating. Students who had been confident just moments before were now being overwhelmed.
The weak were torn apart by enraged trees and vines. The strong were crushed by the tripled strength of the beasts they had been hunting. The lucky ones, who were in between battles, found themselves in the path of a sudden raging beast tide.
The number of students began to drop rapidly like they were ants and they were offed one by one by the beasts.
There was no escape and there wasn't a single change to even surrender.
There was only the blood red sky, the roar of the berserk monsters, and the desperate screams of students dying or about to die.
***
Inside the quiet, cave, Levi was completely unaware of what was happening outside the cave.
He sat peacefully on the stone floor, his back resting on the wall as he flipped open the `Divine Asura Cooking Art` manual on his lap.
It wasn't about fighting, but it was just as difficult as any combat art.
It described how to use one's own energy as a form of heat, how to identify and separate the potent extracts within a monster's flesh, and herbs, and how to cook it in a way that preserved every last drop of its power.
He was trying to get a basic feel for it, hoping to initiate it into the system so he could start practicing, hoping to get at least 10,000 times practice rate.
Levi was so focused on the ancient text that he didn't notice the changes that was happening outside the cave.
At that moment, the silver ray of light that entered through the holes of the cave began to change.
It slowly started to turn from pale silver to pale pink and then suddenly, changed to red and then a pure deep red!
At that instant, the strange, blood red rays of moonlight fell on the side of Levi's arm, making him look up and he immediately frowned in confusion.
Keeping the book in his spatial ring, he stood up and walked towards the entrance of the cave and he saw made his eyes blink rapidly and then widen as he realized it wasn't a dream.
The entire world outside was covered in deep red glow.
The sky was the color of blood, and the three moons looked like crimson eyes staring down at the entire world. It was as though a god was looking down at this dimension!
Suddenly, Levi felt the world grow heavier.
The gravity, which had already been slightly stronger here, intensified, pressing down on his body with even more pressure and even thought It wasn't enough to hurt him, he could feel the weight on his muscles.
At that same moment, the little thief, which had been sleeping peacefully on his shoulder, began to squirm.
"Chirp! Chirp!!"
It let out a series of soft, squeaks, and its tiny body started trembling.
Levi frowned and worriedly brought the little beast up to his face to check on it, slightly worried.
He saw it squirm for a few more seconds, and then it slowed and stopped as it continued sleeping like a baby, its breathing deep and even.
Levi frowned even deeper. It seemed that whatever was happening, the little thief was actually immune to the berserk moon.
It could be because of the massive amount of treasures it had eaten, from the Moonlit Jade Orchid to its share of the Geo-Essence Spring and others, it had started some kind of evolution.
Just as he was about to turn his attention back to the strange sky when he heard a sound far off the distance. It was a rustling sound, and it was coming from right outside.
He suddenly heard another sound, and then another, turning into a strange kind of symphony to him, making It sounded like a thousand snakes moving through the grass all at once.
Levi frowned as he walked outside the cave and deep into the forest.
His strength was high therefore he wasn't truly scared of anything.
But in that split second his thoughts had settles, he felt the hair at the nape of his neck stand on end!
His expression changed and he paused and without hesitation he started to walking back towards the entrance.
He had watched enough horror film to know what it meant.
In that second, a thick, thorny vine, as fast as a three meters Horned-cobra, shot through the air and stabbed at the spot where his head had been a split second ago.
"Thud!"
He stared at the vine close to his neck in shock. It was just a normal blade of grass just a minute ago. Now, it could move!?
"What the hell!?"
Another vine shot out, then another, then ten, then a twenty. The tall grasses outside had were actually alive!
Levi's expression turned grim.
"What the hell happened in just a few minutes!?"
Without hesitation, he drew his cleaver.
With his incredible speed and strength, he slashed through the vines easily.
They only contained the power of a Rank 1 beast, and they were no match for him. But as he cut them down, more and more appeared.
This place was filled with plants.
The grass, the trees, the flowers—everything was transformed, wanting to kill him.
He knew he couldn't stay in the cave. If the plants could attack, they could also block the entrance, trapping him inside. He had to get out, to find a place with no vegetation.
He took a deep breath and charged deeper into the forest.
This entire dimension was actullly turning into a truenightmare grade dimension!

Chapter 36: [36]Evolution; Super-Soldier 7
The moment Levi stepped outside, he was instantly assaulted from all sides.
"Boom!"
The spiky vines lashed at him from all sides!
The branches of the massive trees bent and twisted, powerful whips that slammed down at him from above.
Even the glowing fungi on the trees spat out clouds of poisonous spores that erupted from every corner!
However, Levi didn't just wait to die.
His blade was like a rotor as he slashed with incredible speed, forming some sort of blade barrier around him. Anywhere he passed was sliced through by his blade, severing plants like a blender slicing fruits to make beverages!
Sometimes he had no choice but to use his lightning speed techniques to dodge the worst of the attacks, his cleaver a silver barrier blur as he cut down everything that got in his way.
After a while he noticed inferno slash wa Steve bear ar clearing path die ti its internal properties. And he started to use his `Inferno Slash` to burn paths through the thickest parts of the grass, and he used his raw, physical strength to shatter the attacking tree branches.
He was still surprised as to why the forest suddenly come alive and turned against him?
Then, a memory from a book he had read in the academy's library surfaced in his mind. It was a book about the strange and dangerous phenomena of dimensional zones.
The book spoke of a rare event called a Blood Moon Frenzy, a time when the world itself would try to kill any invader and his face changed slightly. He was actually in the middle of a Blood Moon Frenzy!
He instantly figured out that if he remained here any longer, he wouldn't be able to win and after a while he would get exhausted and then overwhelmed by the monsters. There were thousands, maybe millions of plants within this place!
He couldn't kill them all. He just needed to escape.
Levi fought his way forward, pushing deeper the forest, hoping to find a clearing or a rocky area.
But the forest seemed endless. And the attacks were getting stronger but it was better than been trapped at the cave. Otherwise he would have been overwhelmed without knowing what had happened.
The vines he was facing at this omelet were getting stronger and some were as tough as steel cables, and the tree branches forces hit with the force of a battering ram.
He was no longer just fighting Rank 2 plants. He was now facing enemies with the strength of Rank 3 and Rank 4 strength with the fire power of rank 5 at the minimum.
He was so busy fighting that he didn't see the true danger until it was too late.
Levi had just slashed through a web of rank 5 branches and had landed in a clearing when the entire ground in front of him erupted.
"BOOM!"
A massive tree, far larger than any of the others, rose from the earth. Its trunk was a monstrous with twisted body, and its highest branches formed a monstrous, roaring face.
It was a Treant, and its aura it exuded was massive that Levi's face changed and he knew it was one of a powerful Rank 8 dimensional beast!
Levi didn't have time to react.
A dozen of the Treant's branches, each one as thick as a man's body as as strong as a rank6 branch attack slammed down on him.
"Divine Tiger Thunder Might!"
Levi roared.
Instantly, his eyes crackled with lightning as crimson streaks of thunder filled his body as intense power exploded from him, and instantly, hi ls entire body swoll up.
In that instant, his canines expanded past his lips and his face elongated to form a snort of a tiger and he basically transformed into a being mixed between a tiger and a human being.
Thunder crackled all over him like a thunder storm as he transformed and his claws enchanted and his body instantly a three meters long humanoid tiger body.
"BOOM!!!"
The ground cracked under the force of the impact, and the shockwaves destroyed all the surrounding grasses nearby, shattering them to pieces.
The force blasted Levi several steps backwards as his arms trembled violently.
His face changed drastically. "Too strong."
He immediately knew fighting here was useless.
"Tiger Thunder Step!"
"Boom!"
The air exploded as Levi transformed into a streak of red lightning, dodging the Treant's attacks. He ised the least bit of attack to try to fight back.
He ran, weaving through the forest in a blur.
The Treant roared in fury, but its massive size made it slow. After a tense and destructive chase, Levi finally managed to break free from its attack range.
He didn't stop running as he attacked with his strength, his body covered in small cuts and scrapes. He finally understood the true terror of the Blood Moon.
Levi knew it was almost impossible to kill the beast and ran all the way back to the only place he knew was safe: the grotto behind the waterfall. The plants there had already been cleared by his earlier fight with the Stone Titan.
And in that moment he crashed through the curtain of water and collapsed inside.
He was truly tired and exhausted!
Levi slumped to the cold floor of the grotto, his chest rising up and down as he breath heavily with pounding heart.
The Rank 8 Treant was incredibly powerful, coupled with the fact that it possess more then triple its strength, it was even more terrifying! Even a peak level 9 Super-soldier would undoubtedly die in its hands.
The only reason he was able to escape was its limited agility.
The Blood Moon had turned this entire dimension into a living hell, where even the plants and trees wants to feed in human blood.
He looked over at his shoulder, where the little mole-like thief was still sleeping peacefully. Its small body was surrounded by a faint golden light making Levi sigh in relief.
At least it hadn't gotten the natural berserk ability in his head.
Clearing his head, he knew he couldn't just sit here and wait for the Blood Moon to end. He was trapped, and the world outside was filled with berserk monsters. If he wanted to live, he needed to get stronger.
Levi sighed and then pushed himself into a sitting position, and cleared his mind.
He had just escaped a fight with a Rank 8 monster. He might meet an even worse creature therefore he needed to grow stronger.
Levi brought out a bottle and sipped a few drops of the geo milk and instantly, energy flowed into his muscles and his arching body started to be refreshed.
He placed the bottle back into his ring and then closed his eyes and began to circulate his meditation technique.
Instantly, the energy within the air began to surge as they penetrated through the vortex of his pores, pulling the rich void energy of the grotto into his body.
Hewas close to the next rank, and now was the perfect time to make that final push.
He focused all of his will, all of his determination, into this one task. He activated his system, hoping for a bit of luck.
[Ding! Random multiplier activated: 2,500x!]
It wasn't as high as his last one, but it was more than enough.
A powerful wave of pure energy surged through him.
He gritted his teeth, as he felt his meridians expand as energy surged through his body, saturating his muscles bones and his very cells.
After a few moments of intense, agonizing pressure, he felt a barrier inside him shatter. A new, deeper well of power opened up within him.

Chapter 37: [37] Intense Trouble!
[Congratulations! You have broken through to Rank 7 Super Soldier!]
He opened his eyes, and a thick streak of lightning zapped through his eyes, striking the ground a few meters away.
He clenched his fist, as he felt his muscles growing stronger rapidly. In just a few minutes, his cells had doubled in size and his strength and stats had also doubled compared to level 6.
With the doubled physique, the small cuts and scrapes on his body healed instantly, and the fatigue from his long run vanished. He felt healthier and more lighter then before.
Just as he was getting used to his new strength, a new sound reached his now enhanced senses.
It started as a low rumble, a faint vibration he could feel in the stone floor. But it grew louder, and louder, until the entire grotto was shaking.
Levi's face turned pale. He didn't hesitate as he jumped to his feet.
He cautiously moved to the entrance of the cave and peeked out from behind the waterfall at the entrance of the cave
"Fuck my life!"
It was a beast tide!
A massive river of hundreds of berserk monsters was crashing through the forest, toppling trees and trampling vines as they headed directly for his location.
They were beasts of all shapes and sizes.
There were giant, armored boars, packs of shadowy wolves with glowing red eyes, and massive, ape-like creatures that smashed trees out of their way. They were all covered in blood, their eyes burning with the mindless rage of the Blood Moon Frenzy.
And at the very front of this horrifying scene, just a few meters ahead was a single, familiar figure.
It was the girl he had saved before!
She was running for her life, her face pale with terror. She used some kind of incredible movement technique to dodge and weave through the trees, staying just out of reach of the fastest monsters. She looked back over her shoulder, her eyes wide with panic. She looked over and seen to have noticed Levi at the distance and chose to move towards his direction!
Levi's face, which had been filled with alarm, changed into pure anger.
She was leading them here!
She was leading,an entire army of berserk monsters, straight to his doorstep! He had saved her life from the dark cultivators, and this was how she chose to repay him?
His anger grew hotter and his face flaming hot. He frowned when he watched her movements, the way she effortlessly dodged the attacks of Rank 6 and even Rank 7 beasts.
How could a mere Rank 3 student, even a talented one, survive for so long at the front of a beast tide like this? How could she outrun monsters whose strength had been tripled by the Blood Moon, monsters that even he would have to fight seriously?
But he had no time to think. She was already at the waterfall. With a stomp, she crashed through the curtain of water and tumbled into the grotto, landing in a heap on the floor.
"You!"
Levi pointed at her in trembling anger.
And then, the beast tide followed.
The entrance of the grotto, which had been a safe just a moment ago, was now like a gate to an E grade 4th dimension!
"Roooar!"
The fastest beast was a massive, rank 7 red-eyed Devil Ape.
Its body smashed through boulders in its way as it shot into the cave.
It let out a deafening roar that shook the entire cave. It was followed by a pack of Rank 6 Shadow Wolves, their shadowy forms slipping through the water like ghosts.
And behind them, several dozens of other beasts that pushed, trampled their way into the cave creating a terrifying sound as their roars and snarl combined.
Their red eyes locked onto the two humans, and with an indescribable hunger for blood, they charged!
The cave transformed into a death trap with monsters. Levi was trapped and there was basically no way to escape.
The muscles of the Devil Ape trembled violently.
"Roooar!"
There was no need for other signals, that was all the dimensional beasts needed to attack.
They poured mindlessly into the cave, wanting to rip everyone to shreds.
"You!" Levi's growled in anger as he glanced at the girl cowering on the floor.
He had no time to be angry right now as the first monster attacked.
The Rank 7 Devil Ape was the first to attack.
At this moment, it's strength had more than doubled by the Blood Moon Frenzy.
It stood 7 feet tall, slam it like a mountain of pure muscles with eyes glowing red like magma.
Suddenly, its massive fist as large as a boilder, slammed into the ground as it charged.
Its speed was so fast it almost reach Mach-1 as it arrived before Levi like a rocket launcher, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
Levi's eyes flickered but he right back down.
His anger surged like a tide and his newfound Rank 7 strength bellowed like a ragging tsunami. But it was barely enough.
"Divine Thunder Might!"
His eyes flashed with streaks of thunder but they remained hidden.
He clenched his fists and the air trapped around the exploded, cas he punched outwards.
A loud shriek exploded as the air was forcefully ripped apart.
"BOOM!"
His fist, now crackling with the unseen power of his `Divine Thunder Might`, slammed into the Devil Ape's fist.
It was as though two speed trains had collided between two monstrous forces.
A visible, circular shockwave of pure kinetic energy exploded outwards from the point of impact. The very air in the cave screamed, and the stone floor beneath them cracked and splintered into a spiderweb of fissures.
The force of the blow was so immense that it sent a powerful gust of wind blasting through the grotto, making the waterfall outside explode.
Levi slid three steps backwards, his boots carving deep lines on the cave grounds.
The Devil Ape, was instantly thrown backwards by the force as it retreated three steps back.
Its arm was actually trembling from the thunderous force that had traveled up its limb.
For a moment, the beast was stunned as it couldn't figure out how a small creature could possess such terrifying strength.

Chapter 38: [38] Beast Tide!
But Levi wasn't given any time to rest at all!
The pack of Rank 6 Shadow Wolves, took advantage of the opening, as they moved, their speed so fast they were like ghosts in the cave as they attacked.
Theg were silent and just like predators, their shadowy forms were insane, making them almost invisible in the dim cave.
Three of them leaped from behind the Devil Ape that had been thrown backwards as they flew into the air, their terrifying claws extended, aiming to rip out his throat from three different directions at once.
Behind him, Levi heard a soft voice shouting. "Watch out!"
It was the girl. She had stood back up and her yes was filled with fighting intent as she held a thin, elegant rapier in her hand, and a faint, shimmering aura surrounded her.
"My name is Lucy. I'm really sorry!" she shouted over the roar of the beasts. "I didn't mean to lead them here! I was just trying to survive!" She looked genuinely apologetic, her expression very innocent as she apologized.
Levi didn't have time to care if she was sorry.
He was too busy fighting for his life. He ignored her and focused on the three wolves descending upon him.
He didn't use his `Crimson Thunder Step`. His new Rank 7 speed was more than enough.
He body flashed as he transformed into a blur.
In a split second, he moved, sidestepping the first wolf.
His hand moved as he withdrew his cleaver, slashing at the air which transformed into a silver beam arc in midair.
His Level 8 Cleaver mastery, sliced cleanly through the wolf's neck.
His waist twisted, avoiding the second claw as his body dropped low to the ground, and swung his cleaver in a rising slash that met the second wolf in mid-air.
The slash instantly split it in two from buttom to its head.
He finished the spin, his momentum moving him as he cleaved one more time, using the force into a powerful, horizontal slash that cleanly separated the third wolf, sending its top half flying across the cave.
Three kills in less than a second. It was his highest kill record so far as his reaction speed had also increased drastically.
But for every beast he killed, two more actually took its place. The cave was now completely filled with monsters.
It was incredibly chaotic.
Levi fought at the center of the gathered beasts, his Cleaver slashing through the monster tide, creating a silvery arc circular barrier as though he was a living rotor.
Monsters below level 7 were killed in a single attack. His legs, arms, shoulders and even his head turned into a killing machine
Void energy surged out of him like a tsunami and he suddenly activated his `Inferno Slash`, and his blade was roared into flames. As he leapt upwards, dodging a tackle by a rank 7 beast as he slashed through the level 7 spine as though it was made of paper.
As he landed, a Rank 6 Armored Boar charged him, its tusks glowing with a deadly light as it pierced towards him like a tank.
Levi licked the blood off his lips as he stomped his feet to the ground.
"Boom!"
The ground shattered to pieces as he moved like a bullet, arriving before the beast as his flaming cleaver slammed into the boar's armored head,
"BOOM!"
The air exploded as shockwaves of force and fire blasted off the surroundings like a small grenade.
The boar's head was smashed to pieces and its horn fragmenting, sending fragments of horn through the entire surroundings, sending the smaller beasts flying.
He was like a god of war, Every punch shattered bones, every kick collapsed chests. And every slash cleaved through bodies. The ground beneath his feet started to pool with blood and guts.
But Levi wasn't alone, the girl Lucy, was also there with him.
She was not as strong as him, but she was surprisingly effective. She held her own against the weaker beasts, her rapier moved rapidly as she slashed through nearby weaker beasts.
She would use a strange, illusion-based technique to make a beast see a false image of her, and as it attacked the empty air, she would then flash at its side, her weapon finding a weak spot in its neck or eyes as she attacks.
They were forced into a back-to-back position, as they attacked and killed the beasts.
Levi took on the strongest beasts, parrying or injuring them back.
While Lucy ,handled the weaker ones that slipped past his guard, perfectly complementing him.
At this moment, The Devil Ape, had recovered from their first clash.
"Roooar!"
It roared in even more fury as it charged again.
This time, it was not alone. It was joined by a Rank 7 Stone-Shelled Rhino, a creature whose charge could break through a panel 8 defenses.
They attacked him from two sides, trapping him in between them as they moved with lightning speed.
Levi's eyes flashed with a crimson light and he didn't even think of retreating.
"Boom!" "Boom!"
He stomped his feet one after the other as they dug deep into the ground like a clamp, making the entire cave tremble from the intense force.
"Pipe Down!!!"
He roared as he activated inferno slash, cleaving at the ape's fist while he grabbed the rhino's horn with his left arm as the two attacks collided into him.
"BOOOOOM!"
As he parried the Devil Ape's fist with his flaming cleaver, the impact creating a shower of flints that lit up the entire cave like fireworks.
At the same time, he used his free hand to catch the horn of the charging rhino.
His muscles bulged as though inflated as the the veins on his arms expanded and wriggled like snakes underneath his skin as his muscles trembled, violently counteracting the massive force from the Rhino.
For a moment, he held them both. The sheer, raw power of the scene was breathtaking.
"I. Said. Down!!!"
With a deafening roar of his own, his cells trembled, as he squeezed strength from deep within his body, unleashing power like a raging tide.
He blasted the Devil Ape back and then spun as he threw the massive beast straight into a crowd of smaller monsters, clearing a path like a bowling ball hitting pins.
But the fight was taking its toll.
The berserk monsters didn't feel pain.
They didn't feel fear. They just kept coming.
He knew he couldn't keep this up forever. He had to end this.

Chapter 39: [39] Monster!
"And the enemies we face on the battlefield will show them mercy because of their age?" Scarlet retorted, her voice dripping with scorn.
An invisible mountain of pressure slammed down on Mr. Pearson. His knees buckled. He couldn't breathe. His vision swam. It felt as though the entire weight of the sky was crushing him. He was like a ant in front of her.
The Seventh Elder sighed. He raised a hand, and the pressure on Pearson vanished.
"That's enough, Little Red," he said gently. He looked at her, a hint of sadness in his wise old eyes. "It is a bit cruel to the students."
Scarlet did not back down. Her gaze was as hard as diamond. "The world is cruel, Grandpa Seventh. How can they survive the wars of tomorrow if they cannot even survive the trials of today?"
The Seventh Elder had no reply. He knew she was right, in her own brutal way. What she experienced when she was younger was much worse than this.
He turned his gaze to the black, silent hologram, and he sighed once more.
The grotto was quiet. The beast tide was gone. The only sounds were the crackle of leftover lightning and water dripping from the ceiling. It smelled like ozone and burnt monster.
Levi was on one knee. He was wiped out. Unleashing the `Thunder God's Wrath` took everything he had. He felt empty. But he won. He survived a whole beast tide by himself.
He used his cleaver to stand up. The floor was a mess of black ash and huge, smoking monster bodies. Total carnage. A victory written in blood.
He saw Lucy come out from behind a big rock. Her face was white. Her eyes were wide. She looked at him, then at the pile of dead monsters. She couldn't believe what she just saw.
"You... you did it," she whispered. Her voice was shaky. "You actually killed them all."
Levi didn't answer. Too tired to talk. He just nodded and leaned on the cave wall to catch his breath.
She started walking towards him. She looked worried. And thankful. "Are you alright? You're hurt. You used up all your energy, didn't you?"
He watched her get closer. He didn't trust her, but they'd just fought for their lives together. He was too tired to care right now.
She stopped right in front of him. Her dark-blue eyes looked at his face. "Thank you," she said. Her voice was soft. "You saved my life. I don't know how I can ever repay you."
He was about to tell her to shut up so he could rest. Then he saw it. Her face changed. The nice, worried look was gone. In its place was a cold, crazy smile.
"You really are a monster, Levi Borne," she whispered. Her voice was a triumphant hiss. "A monster that's too dangerous to leave alive."
Her hand shot out. It wasn't to help him. It was a weapon. A thin, black dagger with poison on the tip appeared in her hand. She moved fast. Faster than a Rank 3 should. Faster than the monsters.
"Shk!"
Sharp pain exploded in his chest. He looked down. It felt like it was happening in slow motion. The black dagger was buried in his chest, right through his heart.
He looked back up at her. As though he couldn't believe it.
She laughed. A high-pitched, crazy sound. "You thought I was a helpless student? You're a fool. A big, strong fool."
His body started to tremble as though getting weaker. The poison was spreading. She leaned in close to give her big speech.
"My real name is Seraphina. I serve the Ancient Ground of Dark Matter. My mission was to find the strong geniuses here and mark them for my friends to kill. But you were a surprise. An F-rank nobody who got strong overnight."
She twisted the dagger. More pain. "I had to get rid of you. Your talent is a threat. I led the beast tide here to kill you. But you were stronger than I thought. It doesn't matter. You're tired and you trusted me. That was your mistake. Now, you will die, and I'll take that bloodline of yours as a prize."
She stared at him, waiting for him to fall over and die.
But then she heard a sound. It made her blood run cold.
From the other side of the grotto, someone was clapping. Slow. Deliberate. Mocking.
Her head snapped around. Her crazy grin froze. Her eyes went wide with disbelief.
Leaning against the far wall, looking perfectly fine, was Levi.
The "Levi" she just stabbed looked up at her. It smiled a weird, empty smile. Then its body flickered and fell apart into a pile of wet mud and leaves. It was a dummy.
"A good speech," the real Levi said. His voice was calm, but it was deadly. "You almost had me."
Levi pushed himself off the wall. He wasn't tired anymore. He was cold and angry.
"I knew something was wrong with you from the start," he said. His eyes were glowing with red light. "A Rank 3 student outrunning a beast tide full of Rank 8s? Your acting was good. But your story was crap."
He played along to see what she would do. The dummy was a test. She failed.
She was cornered. Her plan was wrecked. The human look on her face disappeared. She let out a scream that wasn't human. Her body started to twist and change. Green snake scales covered her skin. Her ears got long and finned. Fangs grew in her mouth. Her legs twisted and fused together into a long, powerful snake tail.
It slammed against the ground. *Thud*. Bat wings sprouted from her back.
She wasn't a human anymore. She had actually transformed into a terrifying monster.
She looked at him with her new snake eyes. Her forked tongue flicked out in the air.
"It doesssn't matter," she hissed. Her voice was like poison. "Dummy or not, you're still tired from that last attack. I will still kill you, and I will enjoy picking the flesh from your bones!"

Chapter 40: [40] Demon Thunder Tiger Transformation!
The air in the grotto grew thick with tension as Levi took a slow, deliberate sip from the small vial of Geo-Essence milk.
The moment the liquid touched his tongue, it was as though someone had lit a fire inside his throat as the liquid slid down into his body, evaporating as it flowed and melted into every cell of his body, reigniting his dried up cells with Astra energy.
The fatigue he was feeling at that moment vanished rapidly as his energy started to increase.
At that moment, his meridians surged with energy with a tingling warmth that made his muscles tremble, realizing energy waves.
Seraphina watched this and her serpentine eyes narrowed into slits.
She could sense the subtle change of energy wave in his body, the energy wave he released kept increasing rapidly.
Her forked tongue flicked out again, tasting the air, increasing her sense and what she sensed made her scales ripple with unease.
"You think a little drink will save you?" Seraphina hissed with a snarl.
"I am half a step into the Genetic Soldier stage. You are merely a Rank 7 Super Soldier. The gap between us is is as wide as heaven to earth'"
Levi simply looked at her calmly.
He placed the empty vial back into his spatial ring with a deliberate slowness that seemed to mock her words.
Then, for the first time since she had revealed her true form, he smirked.
"You're right about one thing," He suddenly spoke."There is a gap between us. But you've made a mistake about which direction it goes."
Before she could process his words, Levi's body suddenly trembled as thick veins popped up underneath his skin an to change.
Suddenly, his fingernails started elongated rapidly, extending into razor-sharp claws that was easily four inches long and curved.
His hair, which had been pure dark suddenly tramsformed as it turned white as snow, growing longer and thicker until it fell down his neck, letting it look like a mane in his neck.
His eyes narrowed into vertical slits, like those of a cat, while the irises blazed with an inner crimson light that seemed to pierce straight through to the soul.
His ears stretched and pointed upward, becoming more animalistic. Then, from his forehead, two magnificent horns erupted through his skin, drawing blood.
They curved backward, looking extremely elegant.
But the most dramatic change was in his physique. His muscles, which had already been impressive from months of brutal training and cultivation, suddenly swelled and expanded as though someone had pumped them full of liquid power. His shoulders broadened, his chest more muscular, and every muscle group in his body became extremely streamlined.
He looked like an ancient war god who had descended from the heavens to walk among mortals.
This was the true form of his Divine Thunder Might bloodline ability when pushed to its absolute peak!
In this state, his strength skyrocketed dramatically, multiplying several times over until he stood at the peak of Rank 9 Super Soldier, despite his actual cultivation only being at Rank 7.
The transformation had taken less than a second but to Seraphina, it was extremely quick.
The confident sneer had completely vanished from her serpentine features, replaced by something she hadn't felt in years, fear!
Her eyes widened and she knew if she didn't attack now, things might get even worse. She didn't give him time to settle into his new form as she moved with the of a missile!
Her snake-like lower body suddenly coiled and then released like an arrow being shot by a bow, launching her forward with an insane speed that she seemed to simply vanish from where she had been standing.
"Whoosh!"
The sound of her movement was like a whip crack amplified a thousand times.
She instantly appeared directly in front of Levi, her body moving in a snake like pattern that made her trajectory almost impossible to predict.
Her black dagger flashed as she slashed through Levi's throat, the edge of the blade leaving afterimages through the air.
The speed of the slash was so fast that not even a normal level 9 Super soldier's speed could match it!
"Thunder Step!"
"Crackle!"
Thunder crackled underneath Levi's feet and his senses expanded greatly.
Time seemed to slow down and he could suddenly see the individual scales on her arms shifting as her muscles contracted for the strike. He could hear the whistle of air being displaced by her blade. He could even smell the scent of the poison on her weapon.
Levi suddenly laughed like a maniac.
"Haha! Good!"
His muscles suddenly trembled as thunder astra energy crackled through his pores.
With insane speed, he lifted his arms as slashed at the blade.
"Clang!"
The sound rang out like a bell being struck by a massive hammer.
Sparks flew in every direction from the point of impact, illuminating the scarlet bright cave with brief flashes of orange and white light. The force of the collision was so intense that it created a visible shockwave of compressed air that rippled outward in a perfect circle, blasting loose pebbles and dust away from them in all directions.
Seraphina's eyes widened in disbelief. Her full-power strike, delivered with the enhanced strength of someone standing at the threshold of the Genetic Soldier stage, had been blocked.
The shock of the impact traveled up her arm, making her arms numb in the process.
She didn't even have time to process this impossible development because Levi was already counterattacking. His free hand shot out with blinding speed, reaching for her extended arm with those newly formed claws glinting dangerously.
Seraphin twisted her serpentine lower body in an impossible angle as though she was made of rubber spine bending at an angle that defied normal human anatomy.
Her powerful snake tail whipped around from behind her in a devastating arc, leaving white mark in the air as it aimed directly at Levi's midsection with enough force to shatter solid stone.

Chapter 41: [41] Intense Battle I!
"Wa-tooosh!"
The tail moved so fast it created a visible distortion in the air, a streak of green scales that blurred so fast it was barely visible with the bake eyes.
Levi's field of perception had been enhanced immensely by his transformation and he immediately caught the movement of her tail before it had even traveled half a meter.
Without breaking eye contact with her, without showing even a hint of concern on his transformed features, he suddenly stomped his feet and pushed off the ground with explosive force.
"BOOM!"
The stone floor beneath his feet cracked as spider web shaped appeared on the ground.
His body executed a perfect backflip, his body twisted through the air as Seraphina's tail swept through the space where he had been standing just a fraction of a second earlier.
Her tail slammed into the cave wall behind where Levi had been standing, destroying the wall which had stood in the dimension for countless years.
The wall exploded like ice sheet had been hit by a cannonball. Huge chunks of rock and debris blasted outward, and a spider-web of cracks spread across the entire surface of the wall.
Dust and small stones rained down from the ceiling, disturbed by the violent vibration.
Levi landed fifteen feet away, his clawed feet digging into the ground to absorb the momentum of his flip. He touched down as lightly as a cat despite his increased bulk, barely making a sound.
For a brief moment, they stared at each other across the blood-stained floor of the grotto.
"Impossible," Seraphina hissed, her forked tongue flickering rapidly in agitation. "You're only a Rank 7! Its impossible for your to match my speed! How can you match my strength? This makes no sense!"
Levi didn't bother to answer. He had learned long ago that people who spent their time talking in the middle of battle were usually the ones who ended up dead. Instead of wasting breath on explanations, he moved.
His powerful legs stomped hard as he was propelled forward with insane speed.
In an instant, Levi closed the distance between them in less than half a heartbeat, his cleaver already in motion, swinging in a horizontal arc that would have bisected her at the waist if it connected.
"Shiiing!"
The blade cut through the air with a sound like tearing silk, leaving a trail of displaced air in its wake.
Seraphina's serpent like body coiled and uncoiled in rapid succession, allowing her to dodge backward with a fluid grace.
But Levi seem to have expected this.
The moment she began her backward dodge, his other hand, the one tipped with those razor-sharp claws, thrust forward in a spear-hand strike aimed directly at her chest.
The air itself seemed to part before his clawed hand, creating a miniature vacuum in its wake. Seraphina's eyes widened in alarm as she realized she had been baited into a trap. She was in mid-dodge, her body moving backward with no way to change direction.
In desperation, she did the only thing she could. Her bat-like wings, which had been folded against her back, suddenly snapped open to their full impressive wingspan. With a powerful beat that created a thunderous gust of wind, she launched herself straight upward.
Levi's clawed hand passed harmlessly through the space where she had been just a moment before, finding only empty air.
She soared up toward the ceiling, her wings beating rapidly to maintain altitude in the confined space.
A low, rumbling growl emerged from Levi's throat. His glowing red eyes tracked her movement with predatory focus as she circled above him like a vulture.
Then, without warning, crimson lightning began to crackle across Levi's body.
"CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!"
The sound of the lightning was like a thousand sheets of paper being ripped simultaneously.
Seraphina face changed as she recognized that energy signature. Only those with the bloodline of the Thunder God could wield it, and she had foolishly believed his bloodline was still undeveloped and weak.
She had been wrong. Catastrophically, fatally wrong.
From her elevated position, she decided to strike first before he could unleash whatever devastating attack he was preparing. Her body twisted in midair, and she suddenly dove toward him with her wings folded back for maximum speed, transforming herself into a living projectile. Her dagger extended before her like the poisoned fang of a diving serpent, aimed directly at his exposed back.
"Screeech!"
She let out a piercing, inhuman shriek as she descended.
At the last possible instant, when she was mere feet from striking him, Levi moved.
But he didn't dodge away as she expected. Instead, he spun on his heel with impossible speed, his body rotating so fast that his white mane of hair fanned out around him like a halo.
His cleaver, still wreathed in flickering crimson lightning, came around in a devastating upward slash that met her dive head-on.
"BOOOOM!"
The collision between his lightning-charged blade and her poison-coated dagger created an explosion of conflicting energies that lit up the entire grotto like a miniature sun had been born inside it. Crimson lightning and toxic green energy spiraled around each other in a violent dance, each trying to overwhelm and consume the other.
The shockwave from the impact was so powerful that it created a crater in the stone floor beneath Levi's feet, the rock simply unable to withstand the tremendous force being channeled through his body.
"CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!"
The walls of the cave, already damaged from the earlier beast tide, began to shatter even more, creating new spiderweb patterns of fractures that spread like roots seeking water. Small stalactites broke free from the ceiling and crashed to the floor, shattering into thousands of fragments.
Seraphina was blasted backward by the force of the collision, her wings flapping desperately to regain control as she tumbled through the air. Her arms were numb from the impact, and she could see scorch marks on her scales where the crimson lightning had lacerated her flesh.

Chapter 42: [42] Second Transformation!
"CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!"
The walls of the cave, already damaged from the earlier beast tide, began to shatter even more, creating new spiderweb patterns of fractures that spread like roots seeking water.
Small stalactites broke free from the ceiling and crashed to the floor, shattering into thousands of pieces.
With a loud boom, Seraphina was blasted backward by the force of the collision, her wings flapping desperately as she tried to regain control of her flight as she tumbled through the air.
Her arms were incredibly numb from the impact, and she could see scorch marks on her scales where the crimson lightning had lacerated her flesh.
Levi didn't even give her any moment to recover, he stomped his feet heavily and leapt upwards.
His body shot out like a missile, jumping more than ten meters in just a few milisecond. His right claws slashed upwards at extreme speed at the floating Seraphina.
Seeing this, Seraphina's face changed immediately and she desperately beat her wings, trying to gain more altitude but the cave's ceiling was barely thirty meters high, limiting her flight!
In that split second, she did something unexpected and suddenly folded her wings completely as she dove downwards with astonishing speed, letting gravity increase her speed even further as she dove down.
Executing her moment art, her body suddenly snaked around Levi like a massive python moving through the air, letting Levi's claw slash through the air with a loud 'whoosh'.
As she fell past him, her tail suddenly whipped out in a horizontal slash that carried all of her momentum behind it. The attack was beautifully executed, timed perfectly to catch him while he was still ascending and unable to easily dodge in midair.
"Whoosh!"
Levi managed to twist his body in midair. Her tail swept past his chest, missing him by less than an inch.
As her tail passed beneath him, Levi's clawed hand shot sideways and grabbed at her tail.
"Got you!" Levi smirked as he growled.
He suddenly spun around in mid air, swinging her in a fast wide arc and then slammed relaxed his grip as he slammed her heavily on the ground like a hammer.
"Boom!"
The ground exploded, creating a massive five meters wide crater in the cave.
Dust and debris exploded outward from the point of impact.
For a moment, Seraphina lay there stunned, her vision swimming with stars and her entire body screaming in agony. Multiple bones broken, her left wing was bent at an unnatural angle, blood, darker and thicker than human blood, seeped from multiple wounds across her body.
S-she was actually on the losing end?
Seraphina almost couldn't believe it. She was talent trained by the House Of Dark Matter and had even been given the grace to kill and consume the geniuses of this academy after killing then but she had actually failed halfway and by a youth who barely had any talent.
Anger suddenly clouded her sight.
With a sharp hiss filled with anger and frustration Seraphina forced herself back to her feet. Her body swayed unsteadily for a moment, then she stabilized herself with visible effort.
Her remaining functional wing spread out slightly to help her maintain balance.
Levi landed softly on the ground about twenty meters away from her, his tail lightly tapping against the ground.
He stood there watching her struggle to her feet expressionlessly. There was not a single bit of mercy, not was there pity.
"Is this all half step Super Soldier can do?" he said in a mocking tone.
Seraphina was so angry she actually burst into a pained laughter. Though the sound came out as more of a wet, gurgling cough. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, staining her chin and dripping onto her scaled chest. "Do you think you're strong?" she hissed,
"From the prey to the predator? How amusing. But I think you misunderstand the situation, little runt."
Her remaining hand reached into a hidden fold in her transformed body and withdrew a small serum.
The liquid was a sickly purple color that pulsed rhythmically, like a heartbeat captured in liquid form.
Levi's face changed slightly as he could feel the energy pulsing within the serum.
"This," Seraphina continued, holding up the vial with a trembling hand, "is a Berserk Dark Serum. It will push my transformation to its absolute limit, burning through my life force to grant me power that exceeds even the Genetic Soldier stage, if only for a brief time. I was saving it for one of the other geniuses. I didn't expect to use it on a nobody like you." She smiled, showing all of her sharp teeth in a rictus grin that was filled with madness.
"Congratulations, Levi Borne. You should be honored to have died in my hands. Don't worry, I will put your corpse into good use."
Levi's face changed and the ground exploded as lighting crackled beneath his pawed feet.
"Bang!"
He instantly transformed into a ray of crimson lightning, appearing before Seraphina in a split second.
However, he was still a few milisecond too slow.
Before Levi could stop her, she stabbed her self with the serum, injecting in into her bloodstream.
For a moment, nothing seem to happen.
However, as Levi's Cleaver stabbed towards her chest, a powerful force suddenly erupted from her.
"Screeee!"
The sound was so powerful it blasted Levi backwards like a ragdoll.
At that moment, Seraphina began to transform once more.
Her body grew larger, her muscles swelling to grotesque proportions. Her broken wing regenerated in seconds, growing back even larger and more menacing than before. Her tail lengthened and thickened, and wicked barbs sprouted along its length like the thorns. Her claws extended until they were as long as daggers, and her fangs grew until they protruded from her mouth even when it was closed.
But the most dramatic change was in her aura. The energy radiating from her body grew exponentially, multiplying again and again until it filled the entire grotto with an oppressive presence that made it hard to breathe. The very air seemed to vibrate with the intensity of her power.
Her eyes, now completely black with glowing purple irises, locked onto Levi with mindless hunger.

I CULTIVATE 10,000 TIMES FASTERC43: [43] Little Thief's Death!
Chapter 43: [43] Little Thief's Death!
Levi was shocked as he sensed the energy radiating from her transformed body. The oppressive aura that pressed down on him was unlike anything he had felt before—thick, suffocating, and filled with murderous intent that seemed to have physical weight.
Her energy level had actually surpassed the half-step Genetic Soldier threshold and had reached the true Genetic Soldier stage! This was a realm that stood at the pinnacle of mortal cultivation, a boundary that separated the extraordinary from the truly transcendent.
The difference in power level between a Super Soldier and a Genetic Soldier was as vast as the distance between the earth and the heavens themselves. It was said in all the ancient texts and modern military academies that even ten peak Rank 9 Super Soldiers working together couldn't handle a single Rank 1 Genetic Soldier. While it appeared to be just a single realm apart on paper, their actual combat power was insane—at minimum, ten times the amount of a regular Super Soldier, with some exceptional Genetic Soldiers being even more terrifying than that baseline suggested.
Levi's hadn't expected her to actually possess such a forbidden treasure, something that could forcibly elevate her to the Genetic Soldier stage just like that, even if only temporarily.
Seraphina gazed at him with those completely black eyes that held glowing purple irises, her expression one of cold indifference mixed with cruel amusement.
"This is power," she stated simply, her tone carrying the absolute certainty of someone who had just ascended to a higher plane of existence. "True power. In front of me, all tricks are useless."
In that single instant, before her sentence had even fully finished echoing through the cave, Levi felt every hair on his spine rise as an overwhelming sense of danger enveloped him like he had been submerged in ice water. His instincts, honed by countless life-and-death battles, screamed at him with an urgency he had never experienced before.
He had barely activated his Crimson Thunder Step and shifted his body to the side when he felt a sharp, burning sensation across his left cheek. Four razor-thin claw marks appeared on his face, drawing blood that immediately began to trickle down toward his jaw.
The pain was sharp and immediate, but what truly shocked him was that he hadn't even seen her move. One moment she had been standing fifteen feet away, and the next moment his face was bleeding.
"BOOOOOM!"
The cave wall directly behind where his head had been a microsecond earlier exploded with force. Chunks of solid stone the size of human heads blasted outward, and when the dust settled, four deep claw marks could be seen gouging into the wall, each furrow at least six inches deep and perfectly parallel to the others. If his head had still been in that position, those marks would have been carved through his skull instead of the stone.
Crimson lightning rippled out from beneath Levi's feet in chaotic, branching patterns as though he were riding thunder itself. He activated his Thunder Step technique to its absolute limit, pushing the skill harder than he ever had before. His body became a blur of red and white as he desperately tried to create distance, barely able to dodge Seraphina's relentless assault.
She was so impossibly fast that she moved like a living blur—no, faster than that, she seemed to partially phase in and out of visibility as she attacked. He was completely unable to track her movements with his eyes and was relying purely on his danger sense to tell him where the next attack would come from.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"
The sounds of her claws cutting through the air created a terrifying symphony of death. Each slash created a visible distortion in the atmosphere, miniature vacuum trails that collapsed back on themselves with sharp cracking sounds.
However, as the battle continued, a realization began to dawn on Levi. She wasn't fighting him seriously. She was simply toying with him, the way a cat plays with a mouse before delivering the killing bite.
Each of her attacks was precisely calculated to wound rather than kill.
Her poisonous claws and blade scraped across his entire body, opening up numerous deep wounds that penetrated all the way down to the bone. His transformed white fur was quickly becoming stained with blood.
The poison coating her weapons was seeping into his system, attacking his nerves and making every wound feel like it was on fire from the inside out.
"Slash!"
All of a sudden she managed to get past his speed entirely.
Her claws, glowing with that sickly purple energy, suddenly swept horizontally across his left shoulder.
Levi's eyes widened in shock and pain as he felt his entire left arm flew from his body.
The limb, still transformed with white fur and deadly claws, flew through the air in a spray of blood before hitting the ground with a wet, heavy thud several feet away. It twitched once, twice, then lay still, disconnected from the nervous system that had controlled it.
The pain was excruciating, a white-hot agony that threatened to overwhelm his consciousness entirely. But Levi, gritted his teeth through the pain, controlled his muscles to contract as he stopped the bleeding almost immediately.
"Clever."
Seraphina licked her claw with her tongue as she chuckled.
Levi continued to use his cleaver in his remaining right hand to desperately parry and deflect the most fatal attacks, but the accumulating fatigue from both his wounds and the poison coursing through his system was beginning to slow him down noticeably.
His movements, which had been sharp and precise at the beginning of their fight, were becoming sluggish and predictable. His reaction time was deteriorating with each passing second.
After each successful attack from Seraphina that broke through his defenses, a notification from his system would appear in his mind's eye.

I CULTIVATE 10,000 TIMES FASTERC44: [44] Anger!
Chapter 44: [44] Anger!
The notifications kept coming, one after another, as his system desperately tried to adapt to the life-threatening situation he found himself in. His various resistance and recovery skills were increasing at a rapid pace, his body evolving in real-time to handle the punishment it was receiving. But despite these improvements, they were increasing too slowly to make a meaningful difference in his current predicament.
Levi gritted his teeth, his transformed fangs grinding against each other with enough force to crack normal human teeth. He was waiting,l for that critical hit.
That was his plan, his desperate gambit to turn this impossible battle around. He just had to survive long enough for it to happen.
"SHING!"
Suddenly, in a move so fast that even his danger sense barely registered it in time, Seraphina's tail whipped around from an unexpected angle. The barbed appendage, moving with the speed and force of a ballista bolt, struck his right leg just below the knee. The impact was accompanied by a sickening crunching sound as bone shattered and flesh separated.
Levi's right leg from the knee down was completely severed, sent tumbling across the blood-slicked floor of the grotto like a piece of discarded meat.
Levi collapsed, his body's balance completely destroyed. He managed to catch himself with his remaining arm and stump of his right leg, but he was now effectively crippled, reduced to standing on one leg while missing an entire arm.
Blood pooled beneath him, far too much blood for any normal person to lose and remain conscious.
Seraphina landed gracefully a few feet away, her transformed monstrous form somehow managing to look elegant.
She tilted her head to the side, studying him like he was an interesting specimen rather than a fellow sentient being.
"How disappointing," she hissed, her forked tongue flickering out to taste the blood-scented air. "I expected more from someone who managed to reach the top of the leaderboard. But in the end, you're just another piece of meat waiting to be carved up and consumed."
But at that precise moment, as Levi teetered on the edge of consciousness and death, something unexpected happened within his body. The strange Demonic Breathing Technique that he had learned earlier from the black monument in the secret realm suddenly started circulating by itself.
The dark, chaotic energy pattern of the Demonic technique spiraling through his meridians in that strange reverse-flow pattern triggered an immediate response from its counterpart.
The Divine Heaven Breathing Technique that he had also learned from the white monument began to circulate automatically as well.
The two techniques, which should have been completely incompatible and mutually destructive, suddenly found their rhythm within him. They began to circulate together in perfect harmony, one yang and one yin, one light and one dark, one creation and one destruction.
Together, they formed something greater than the sum of their parts—a complete and unified cultivation method.
The moment his Astra energy was circulated using this combined method, something happened within his body.
His Astra energy, which had always existed as a gaseous vapor distributed throughout his meridians and cells , suddenly began to compress. The pressure increased exponentially as more and more of the gaseous energy was forced together.
In the next moment, it felt like a small supernova detonating inside his chest, the Astra energy actually condensed and transformed into a single golden liquid that settled in the center of his chest, right where his heart was located.
The droplet was no larger than a teardrop, yet the power it contained was so immense that Levi was momentarily stunned despite his dire situation.
This was a sign of reaching the Genetic Soldier stage—the liquefaction of Astra energy. It was something that normally required months or even years of dedicated cultivation to achieve, yet the harmony of the two breathing techniques had forced his body through the transformation in mere seconds under the pressure of mortal combat.
At this moment, seeing that Levi appeared distracted and wasn't even looking at her anymore.
Seraphina's face changed as anger flooded her. For him to ignore her, to dare to lose focus on her during their battle, was an insult she couldn't tolerate.
"How dare you!" she shrieked, her voice sounding like a nails scratching a chalkboard. "You deserve to die!"
She laughed coldly, and struck forward with her blade. She stabbed directly at his chest, as the tip pierced directly through his head.
The blade moved so fast it seemed to have teleported.
An overwhelming sense of danger, stronger than any he had felt before suddenly flooded through Levi's brain and without hesitation, he immediately activated Crimson Thunder Step with every ounce of power he could muster, trying to phase out of the blade's path.
"Crackle!"
Crimson lightning exploded around his body as he attempted to move, but even with his enhanced technique and his newfound transformation, he was still too slow.
The blade was simply moving too fast, boosted by the overwhelming power of a true Genetic Soldier. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as Levi watched the blade stabbed directly into his heart.
But then Levi suddenly vanished as though he had never been there at all.
Levi blinked in confusion, his consciousness spinning from the sudden teleportation but he gritted his teeth and focused.
It was then he heard something. It sound like a squeak but then more like a whisper.
A small, weak, pitiful sound of pure agony.
His eyes snapped to the source of the sound, and what he saw made his slit contract to pinpoints.
The little thief, had somehow activated its Substitution skill and had been used to substitute itself for Levi's position.
Levi's eyes went blank and time seemed to stop entirely.
The little thief was now impaled on Seraphina's blade. Its tiny body convulsed, and a trickle of blood that looked far too dark ran from the corner of its mouth. Its usually bright and mischievous eyes were glazing over, the light of life rapidly fading from them.
Then, like a dam bursting under too much pressure, emotion flooded through him with overwhelming intensity.
