'Alfa Rodriguez? Can you hear me?' Arya tried to mindlink him.
'Who the hell are you, and what do you want?' Came a rough voice.
'Alfa Rodriguez, I'm Arya Moonstone. My pack is under attack by rogues. We need your help!' Arya said, her voice desperate.
'What pack?'
'Moonsglow pack.'
There was silence. Arya was now worried that he had cut off the link.
'You say you're Arya Moonstone. How is your pack Moonsglow?' Rodriguez asked, his voice sounded suspicious.
'That's not relevant. Moonstone pack is under attack from ....'
'Yeah, yeah, yeah.... under attack from rogues. If you want my help, answer my question first!'
Arya took a deep breath. 'I'm Luna Arya Moonstone Flowerew. Alfa Flowerew is my mate.'
Arya heard a laugh. 'So you got marked by the alfa of the pack that destroyed Moonstone pack.'
'Alfa Rodriguez, please help us. Not only will my pack members die, but so many rogues will lose their lives as well. Their blood will be on your hands.'
'Rogues know the consequences of attacking a pack. They aren't my pack members; they aren't my fucking responsibility. Deal with it yourself.'
The link was cut off. Arya tried to mindlink Rodriguez again and again, but he never answered.
'His not coming.' Arya informed her mate.
The women screamed one after another, as they felt the mate bond growing weaker or breaking.
When someone's mate gets injured, the woman feels the bond weaken. When one mate dies, the other could feel the bond break, which feels like dying.
Arya felt a sharp pain in her chest, and she knelt to the floor in agony. "What's happening?" She screamed.
Genevieve came to her side and held her tightly. "You can feel their pain. Stay strong."
Alfa felt several bonds break at once. Many of his pack members were dead. He knew Arya could feel his pain, as he felt her pain.
Many of his good warriors were on the ground. These rogues were mercilessly attacking everyone, mostly the younger ones.
Everyone in the house let out a loud scream as the power shut down. The lights were off, and every electrical appliance switched off, including the dead bolt on the main door.
Marcus and Natalie! They were also here.
"Mother, my cousins... " "Go. I'll take care here!" Genevieve said.
"The woman and children? What about them?"
"Take them through the back door. Take them towards the eastern border. Beyond that is the Bloodmoon pack, our alies. Contact Lord Caspian..."
Before she could continue, they heard growing near the door.
"GO!"
Arya ran up the stairs to get her siblings, while she mindlinked the woman and children to meet her at the back door.
"Marcus, Natalie, follow me now!" Arya shouted.
"What the ...." "NOW!"
Arya grabbed their hands and ran out of the room, and halfway down the stairs, she saw two rogues fighting their way in, while a beautiful grey wolf defended the door.
The blue-eyed girl jumped over the railing of the stairs, taking the two shaking teenagers with her, and pulled them toward the back door where the others were waiting.
She slowly opened the door and walked out carefully, looking around.
She saw a few rogues outside and asked the women, "Are any of you trained in combat?"
Out of twenty, only about ten said, "I am."
One of them was pregnant, so she was out of the picture. She couldn't fight.
"There are a few rogues here. We will try to go round them, but if they spot us, you have to fight," Arya told them.
They all turned to the humans.
"What's going on?" Natalie asked, shaking.
"You're about to find out. I'm sorry," Arya said.
Arya held their mouth from behind, and before they could free themselves, the women in front of them turned into wolves.
The humans gave a muffled scream. Their hearts beat like drums, as all the wolves went out in a group, with the children sitting on top of them.
They stared in disbelief. "Do not scream," Arya said as she let them go. "Follow me."
They complied. Arya only hoped that they get out without detection, as the rogues wouldn't leave anyone alive.
They slowly went out, staying in the shadows. They hadn't reached far when one of the children sneezed.
They all froze. Slowly, they turned to see the rogues staring at them. Then, everything happened in a blur. The rogues ran towards them, growling and snarling, the wolves who were trained fought, while the others ran with the children.
One rogue charged towards Marcus and Natalie, and right in front of them, Arya turned. Into a wolf.
They screamed as a white wolf defended them. They staggered backward, heart racing. What the heck was going on?
The white wolf was bitten in her hind leg, and she whined. Two more rogues jumped on her, and she howled as she tried to get them off.
Just as one of the rogues turned to the humans, everyone heard a deep, guttural howl from the forest. All the wolves froze, and the rogues whined and put their head in between their paws.
The ones on Arya jumped off and got down, almost like they were bowing in the direction of the howl.
Then, Arya saw it, a black wolf with red eyes coming towards them, all alone. As it came closer, the rogues seemed like they wanted to bury themselves.
He stopped a few inches away from Bella and then looked towards the humans. Bella instinctively stepped in front of them, but the black wolf wasn't looking at them. He was looking behind them.
Bella looked behind them and saw a rogue running off in the other direction.
One howl from their Alfa, and he was stopped by his own wolves. The black wolf walked up to him and pressed him down.
Bella knew he was mindlinking him and then saw him bite his neck, killing him.
By now, Alfa, Ronald, and the other members of the pack were there, standing beside the luna.
Turning around, the black wolf turned into a handsome young man with a beard and lots of scars.
"I didn't know about the attack, or I would have stopped it," he said.
"Thank you for coming, Alfa Rodriguez," Alfa said, and that's when Arya realized why he was covered in scars. "You saved my pack."
The young man nodded and turned around.
"Wait, Alfa Rodriguez... I'm..." "My answer is still no. You're not allowed near my territory," he said, without turning around.
"But please listen to me, I need to talk with you..."
"Listen," Rodriguez said, turning around. "I don't know who you are or who you think you are, but Alfa Michael left that pack to me, and I decide who comes in."
"Please," Arya begged.
"Alfa Rodriguez, you helped my pack, I want to show gratitude. Please stay for breakfast," Alfa Flowerew said, hoping he'd accept.
He just laughed.
