Chapter 159 - Chapter 161: The Empty Obi-Wan

After dinner, Amir updated Luke's study materials and led the group back to Obi-Wan's hut.

"I won't see him often anymore." Obi-Wan's eyes were clear. "A peaceful life suits him."

Amir thought of the future events from the movies: R2-D2 and C-3PO, carrying incredibly important intelligence, would accidentally land at this small farm. R2 had a hologram of Leia; he was looking for Obi-Wan.

It was because of this droid that the Empire, failing to find what they sought, brutally murdered Owen and Beru, leaving them as charred bones.

Although he had only met them twice, Amir really liked the seemingly cold but warm-hearted Owen and the understanding Beru. They loved each other and were happy. Although their life wasn't rich, they maintained a happy family on this barren land through their own efforts.

It was precisely because Luke grew up under their care that he developed a pure and kind heart.

They won't die this time, Amir vowed silently.

"There's no need for that. Even if you visit him occasionally, it won't affect him. As long as you don't succumb to the urge to take him as an apprentice." Amir laughed.

"What did you discover?" Obi-Wan couldn't help but ask. "Your perception is stronger than mine. How is Luke?"

"Are you sure you want to know?" Amir teased.

Obi-Wan fell silent.

"Actually, there's no need to ask. Luke's Force is very strong, just undeveloped." Amir stopped joking.

Although Obi-Wan said he didn't care, he couldn't help but sigh. "What do you think his future will be?"

Amir crossed his arms like a fortune teller. "Shall I cast a divination?"

He had the active skill of Force precognition; Obi-Wan knew this.

"Of course." Obi-Wan perked up.

Although Amir knew the future plot, he still used Force precognition to sense it.

After a long time, he opened his eyes. The images he saw were very blurry and abstract, but he still felt what he wanted.

"The Force will guide him on the path of the Jedi. I saw light and hope in him."

Obi-Wan felt a bit helpless. He had finally made up his mind not to guide him, but would things still develop uncontrollably?

"The future isn't set in stone, you know. Maybe he'll just be a peaceful farmer all his life." Amir comforted him.

Obi-Wan nodded.

Early the next morning, Kaiyin returned. He came in a hurry, but Amir saw a different look in his eyes.

"What, figured it out?" Although they hadn't talked about it, Amir knew what Kaiyin was thinking. Although he was older than Amir, he was still young. Growing up on Coruscant, he didn't have a clear understanding of the galaxy's full picture.

After seeing it clearly, Kaiyin would definitely not be content to live in fear as a bounty hunter.

"Mm," Kaiyin nodded. "I'm leaving. I met a group of people. I'm going to follow them for a while."

Amir knew that after he left this time, it would be hard to see him again for a long time.

But neither said much.

Just like on the prison ship, when Kaiyin realized that person was Amir, he immediately and decisively fired at the Imperial Inquisitor.

He trusted Amir, and Amir also trusted that he was walking the right path and would give him his utmost support.

"Come with me. I'll give you something good." Amir smiled mysteriously and led him to the Traveler.

Some time later, Kaiyin walked out in a daze, carrying two cases of precious metal ingots, a Smart Combat Pack strapped to his back, and two pieces of Beskar stuffed in his chest pocket.

He doubted his own eyes. What was this mountain of precious metals and credits? What had Amir been doing lately?

. . .

Another few days of training.

Amir became even more obsessed with practicing saber forms. He didn't get bored. To Amir, the lightsaber itself was a work of art. Every swing was enjoyable.

Milisen wasn't so happy. Under Obi-Wan's guidance, she and 32 spent most of their time meditating.

Importantly, she wanted a lightsaber. Her own lightsaber.

Even 32 had one. Although it looked old, he could already practice forms!

After Amir finished a sparring session with Obi-Wan, he saw Milisen running over unhappily, pouting at him.

"What's wrong?" Amir asked knowingly. Milisen had been envious watching them train these past few days.

"Hmph, hmph, hmph!!!" Milisen didn't speak, just stared at Amir.

"Hahaha, alright. I know what you're thinking."

Milisen's face relaxed, and she said happily, "So, when are we going?!"

"No time like the present. Let's go today." Amir stood up and pulled Obi-Wan toward the Traveler. Milisen bounced along behind them.

"So where do you want to go?" Obi-Wan asked Amir.

Amir thought for a moment. "Milisen needs a Kyber crystal. How about Ilum? Is it safe?"

During the Jedi Order era, younglings were mostly led by Jedi Masters to planets rich in Kyber crystals, like Ilum, to find the crystal that resonated with them and build their first lightsaber.

But after the Empire was established, many planets rich in Kyber crystals were occupied. Imperial mining teams were excavating Kyber crystals on a massive scale, shipping them to unknown locations.

"I don't know. I haven't been there in years. But I can tell you its location." Obi-Wan said. "Ilum is indeed a good place. I've been there many times to get crystals for younglings. The Jedi Order opened a special area there, full of scattered Kyber crystals. The Empire wouldn't mine there on a large scale."

"I'll go take a look."

This time, both Milisen and 32 would go. They had both grasped the basics of the Force. It was time for them to have their own lightsabers for training.

"Stay safe." Obi-Wan saw the group off and returned to his hut.

Amir had left him a lot of money. He wouldn't need to risk taking jobs for a while. He just needed to occasionally go to Mos Eisley to buy supplies.

Obi-Wan spent more time learning how to become a Force Spirit from Qui-Gon.

Since Amir's return, he had continued to explain everything he knew to Amir. Although there were still many things he hadn't thought of yet, being able to do what he had taught was already remarkable.

If Amir could learn it all and master it, he would be no less skilled than some Masters of the Jedi Order.

The most important thing was still the spirit. In this aspect, Amir had deep self-awareness, and he didn't need to say anything more.

For deeper learning, if there was a chance in the future, he would have Amir visit Master Yoda. Master Yoda was much more experienced than him and would definitely bring Amir new insights.

Obi-Wan felt a wave of emptiness. Why is the new apprentice ready to graduate before I've even taught him much?
