Chapter 149 - Chapter 151: The Off-Script Operation

Amir looked at his master with the gaze of someone caring for an elderly person.

"I'm heading out for a bit later. A friend from Coruscant asked me to be a bodyguard for a while," Amir said. Seneal had already contacted him, and the meeting was set for tonight.

Just then, Kaiyin walked up. "Amir, the party at the Pyke spice base is tomorrow. Do you want to go check it out?"

"I have to go out for something. Why, are you going to join the fun?" Amir asked.

"Of course. I'm the one who invited the guests. I have to go see how it turns out," Kaiyin said with a laugh. "Boba Fett is going too. He invited me today, but I didn't agree. This time, I'll just watch the show. I don't plan on getting involved."

You don't plan on getting involved? You're the one who stirred up this whole mess...

It seemed this event was a rare feast in the galaxy's underworld. No wonder that old scoundrel Hondo was willing to go undercover for so long.

He even managed to become the second-in-command. And the boss just happened to die. If Amir hadn't stepped in, wouldn't he have become the new boss?

Amir was curious about what Seneal was planning this time. That squid-face definitely wasn't like those short-sighted bounty hunters and criminals who only saw profit.

Even if he did similar things, there was always a deeper layer to his schemes. It was hard to know what he was plotting.

They chatted for a while. Milisen overheard and started clamoring to go too.

"This is work. I have to go earn money. You stay here and learn with Obi-Wan. I'll be back soon," Amir said.

"Haha, I can take you to meet a new friend," Obi-Wan suddenly said, remembering something.

Ever since Obi-Wan had stopped insisting on Luke becoming a Jedi, the Lars family had begun to accept him. When he "happened" to ride his Eopie past the moisture farm, he wouldn't be driven away. He could even sit and chat for a bit.

But after it happened too frequently, Owen became unhappy. He looked at Obi-Wan the way a father-in-law looks at a suitor, always feeling like his precious cabbage was about to be snatched by a pig. He would then mercilessly chase him away.

Fortunately, it had been a long time since his last visit. It should be fine to go again... He should bring a gift. What to bring...

Obi-Wan glanced at BD-4, who was lazing in the corner. The little robot shuddered, sensing a malicious gaze.

Feeling that was a no-go, Obi-Wan looked at the square backpacks in the corner, and an idea struck.

"My good apprentice, you're not using all those backpacks, are you? I'll take one to... study..." Obi-Wan said, without a shred of justification.

"You think I don't know what you're up to..." Amir said helplessly. "Take one. There's a small one over there, a children's version. Just remember to have Milisen teach him how to use it, so he doesn't hurt himself."

"Thank you, Amir." Obi-Wan went and picked up the backpack. "Could you spray-paint it? Like Milisen's."

Amir laughed. The Obi-Wan right now was exactly like a doting father picking out a gift for his son, with none of the aura of the galaxy's top-tier combat power.

"Of course!" Amir was thrilled that someone liked his work. He grabbed the spray gun and started painting.

This time, he didn't spray anything strange, but a small X-wing fighter against a background of stars, explosions, and blaster beams.

Obi-Wan held the backpack and nodded, satisfied. Little Luke will be happy for a long time.

On the other side, Milisen, having heard about a new friend, had been pestering Obi-Wan, but had only managed to get a name.

"You're coming with me, 32," Amir said. 32 was different from Milisen. His tough body and strong combat power could ensure his own safety. Amir wouldn't have to worry about him, and he could be a lot of help.

More importantly, without 32, the Traveler had no First Mate. After experiencing the luxury of having help flying the ship, Amir was getting too lazy to pilot it alone.

"Mm," 32 grunted.

Soon, everyone set off, scattering in different directions.

. . .

Seneal and Amir had arranged to meet at a well-known space station. This station had no official name. It was once a Republic supply depot, but it was taken over by pirates during the Imperial era. After several shootouts, it finally fell into the hands of a Hutt. The station's former designation was AX-30. With no one giving it a new name, it was still called that today.

Now, AX-30 had become a black market. It was a chaotic mix of people, and countless deals were made in secret.

The Traveler landed in the port without attracting much attention. Amir and 32, both wearing hoods, walked inside.

The environment here was far worse than the Eternal Ark. The Eternal Ark was undoubtedly a sanctuary of entertainment. This place was more like an open-air sewer. All kinds of garbage and sewage were scattered on the ground, and no one cleaned it up. Jawas, Trandoshans, Rodians, and various other species mingled. Shouts, curses, and even blaster fire rang in their ears.

Amir sighed. It seemed he wouldn't find any good food here.

He walked to the designated bar and saw an unhidden squid-head at the counter.

"Seneal," Amir walked up.

"Amir? Is that you? Why are you all covered up? And you brought a droid?" Seneal turned his head and asked.

"This is 32. He's a cyborg, not a droid," Amir explained.

"You..." Amir looked around. "You're not even in disguise? Aren't you a big shot now?"

"Hehe, what big shot? I'm just a worker. Who knows me!" Seneal picked up his glass, drained it, and took a napkin to wipe the moisture from his tentacles.

"Let's go. We'll talk on the way. Let me see how that ship is doing. If I hadn't been desperate for someone to use it back then, I wouldn't have given it to you," Seneal said, standing up.

"The spice base location isn't being released until tomorrow. Where are we going now?" Amir asked.

"Spice base? We're not going there. I'm taking you somewhere good, hehe," Seneal said, rubbing his hands.

"Where exactly? When are you going to stop being so cryptic?" Amir couldn't help but get annoyed when he heard him laugh.

"My men will leak the info to the Pyke syndicate first thing tomorrow morning, letting them know a base is about to be attacked. They will definitely redeploy a lot of forces. Since they don't know which base, they'll have to spread their troops thin. When that happens, the defenses in some other places will be weaker," Seneal said.

Amir frowned. "How will you make them believe they're about to be attacked?"

"That's simple. The people who are supposed to move out will already be moving tomorrow morning. We just need to give the Pykes a little tip, and they'll discover the threat themselves," Seneal replied.

"So what's our target?" Amir asked again.

"To get something." Seneal's smile became even more punchable.
