"Everything has been scouted. We're preparing to set up an ambush. Come to Planet Adrian first," Ahsoka said to Amir from her ship.
"Okay. It's a good chance to see what the Jedi predecessors left for me in the Adrian Temple," Amir said with a smile.
"Hehe. And leave Milisen here. It's going to be dangerous," Ahsoka said.
"Ah~! I want to go too! I'm stronger now, I can help!" Milisen leaned in and shouted at Amir.
"Next time, definitely."
. . .
Taking too many ships was useless. Ahsoka wasn't going to let Amir get into a dogfight, so Mando's Razor Crest was left on Tatooine. He boarded the Traveler with them.
Amir was also wary of him. He didn't want the Mandalorian to know the location of the Adrian base until he fully trusted him.
32 was now generally familiar with the ship's operating procedures and was becoming more adept in the co-pilot's seat. Not only that, but his speech had also become more fluent.
Mando sat in the second-row seat, looking at the Traveler's high-tech control panel, the two rows of weapon systems, and the spacious, comfortable lounge outside. He said nothing, just kept telling himself: Don't be envious, don't be envious. The Razor Crest is my true love!
Obi-Wan, knowing the layout, ran to the kitchen, grabbed some food, and sat on the sofa in the lounge to rest comfortably. Milisen, seeing this, felt she was missing out and immediately rushed to the refrigerator.
After starting the Traveler, it wasn't long before the familiar green planet appeared before them.
Following the previous record, Amir flew directly into the mist-shrouded mountains. Soon, Amir saw a crude base.
The Resistance had leveled the gaps between the mountains, paving a solid platform with rubble and dirt. Many ships were parked on the platform, and dozens of people were moving and talking below.
A long, melodious cry rang out. Seeing the familiar Traveler, Yunyin also took flight from the mountain peak, circling them. On Yunyin's head, the red-haired girl waved.
"Veronica!" Milisen stood on her toes, waving back.
Finding a spot, Amir parked the ship.
As soon as the ship stopped, Milisen was seen sneaking into the kitchen, grabbing a pile of things, and rushing off the ship in a flash.
Obi-Wan, in the lounge, also walked off the ship, unable to wait.
"Master Obi-Wan!" Ahsoka had already returned and was waiting at the entrance. Seeing the familiar yet unfamiliar figure, her heart was filled with mixed emotions. It was as if, in an instant, she had become the little apprentice from ten years ago.
But ten years had passed, and Ahsoka was no longer that willful girl.
"Ahsoka..." Obi-Wan was also filled with emotion. His eyes held nostalgia, joy, and deep guilt.
Obi-Wan knew what Anakin meant to Ahsoka. They had the same bond he and Anakin shared.
And he had not only failed to save him, but had raised his own sword against him, leaving only indelible hatred.
Amir, walking down, sensed Qui-Gon in the corner. He thought to himself, I guess this counts as four generations, only I've taken Anakin's place.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka didn't dwell on the past as he might have imagined. Their hearts were firm. The sentimentality was kept inside.
In their previous calls, Ahsoka had already told Obi-Wan what she was doing with the Resistance. Obi-Wan had a decent understanding of everything here.
"Seeing you, I feel much more at ease," Ahsoka said, leading Obi-Wan into the ruins. The inside had already been converted into the Resistance's command center, housing their most important communication network.
"On the contrary, I feel at ease after seeing your efforts," Obi-Wan said with emotion. "I've been in hiding all these years, even forgetting to resist. But you are still the same as before, Ahsoka."
"Haha, well, welcome back."
Yunyin descended from the sky, beating its wings, and landed in front of Amir. Veronica jumped off, her face flushed.
"Addicted to flying, are we?" Amir said with a smile.
"No! Just... occasionally." Veronica adamantly denied it.
Amir walked up, stroked Yunyin's head, and fed it some jerky. He saw Milisen and Mona nearby, each happily eating an ice cream.
My ice cream! Amir thought about his dwindling stock and decided he would have to limit Milisen's snack times in the future.
Unaware of her sad future, Milisen was happily telling Mona about the things she had seen these past few days. When she got excited, she would point at 32, who was standing nearby.
32 touched his bald head, feeling an itch on his back.
After greeting Parks and a few other acquaintances, Amir also walked into the ruins. The spacious hall was now filled with mechanical equipment and wiring. Many people were rushing about.
"Is there a plan?" Amir asked Ahsoka, who was standing in front of a holographic projection.
"This is the area around the base. We didn't risk scouting the interior," Ahsoka said.
"It's already very good." Amir looked at the hologram. The base was located inside a mountain. The surrounding cliffs were steep and unclimbable. There was only a specific landing pad at the very peak. The overall width wasn't large, but it was extremely tall. The base went from the mountaintop straight down to the foot; there was no telling how many floors.
Ahsoka said to Amir and Obi-Wan: "Our people found an abandoned cave at the foot of the mountain. It's likely a space left over from the base's construction. This cave leads directly to the outer wall of the base."
"We need to divide into two groups. One, led by me, will launch a frontal assault with the fleet to draw their defensive forces. The other, led by you two, will infiltrate the base from the bottom, find the children's location, and rescue them in the chaos."
"If possible, please also steal the data from the base. It will be very helpful for the children's subsequent treatment. We'll talk about the details on the way."
Amir thought for a moment and said, "We'll enter the base first. I'll find a way to shut down their communications. That can delay the arrival of their reinforcements and reduce the pressure on you."
Ahsoka nodded. "You are the most critical part of this operation. As long as we rescue the children, our objective is half-achieved. Don't take unnecessary risks."
After the discussion, Amir led Obi-Wan toward the depths of the ruins. There was still one "unopened" item waiting for him there.
