Don't you have any idea whether you can actually beat me?
Professor Auror, of course, did—after all, even that pervert he had faced back then had gone blow for blow with him. How could he possibly lose?
He had seen the girl named Annie fight before. While her skills were decent, they were still far from the level of that pervert back in the day. Fighting her should be effortless… Of course, what he didn't know was that Annie had held back her full strength back then—after all, they couldn't beat the group, and she needed to cover their retreat. Tibbers, due to his magical contract, could only cause serious injury but wouldn't kill.
So, Auror felt quite confident this round. Still, to prevent unnecessary danger, he cast a protective shield around himself—just in case things went sideways.
"Little girl, next time, be careful. Don't meddle in things that aren't your business—"
Although he spoke lightly, the spell fired as he tried to warn her. Naturally, he didn't dare use a stronger spell—after all, casting a powerful one on a child might have unintended consequences.
Unfortunately, the incoming spell was easily dodged, and the girl didn't counterattack with magic. Instead, she hugged a small stuffed teddy bear.
Are you kidding me? Doesn't that pervert understand how crucial combat experience is for a wizard? Or has he spoiled his sister so much that she has zero real battle experience?
While Auror was lost in thought, his years of life-and-death experience screamed at him—dodge immediately, or you'll be in mortal danger!
Thanks to countless past experiences saving him, he obeyed instinctively, and in the next moment, he was thankful for his caution.
The little, seemingly mundane Muggle toy was tossed lightly, and immediately afterward, intense magical energy surged above him—a ball of searing flames, hot enough to burn the air, plummeted from above, radiating overwhelming force. Auror instinctively rolled aside, barely able to control his body.
Fortunately, momentum allowed him to shift slightly, narrowly avoiding being crushed. Had it landed directly, he would have been meeting Merlin face-to-face.
But that wasn't the end of the news—because as the flames hit the ground, Auror finally saw what they really were. A terrifying, giant teddy bear, its body wreathed in flames, rose from the crater it had created.
Frozen in place, Auror noticed the bear's ugly patch on its enormous head—and suddenly realized this looked familiar…
No, Merlin above—this sibling pair were both maniacs!
There was no time for commentary—he hadn't even shouted "don't touch her" in time.
The flaming giant raised a massive paw, half-standing, and brought it down with a roar of air slicing through the wind—CRACK! His supposedly sturdy shield was instantly riddled with cracks.
Tibbers paused for a moment—the opponent's shield seemed solid.
Then—SLAP! Another paw strike.
This time, the shield shattered like glass. Auror, propelled partly by the shockwave and partly by the paw itself, flew into a tree, coughing up blood.
Yet—luckily, he finally broke free from the bear's oppressive control.
Without hesitation, he cast another protective shield around himself.
A white spell shot slowly from his wand, and as it skimmed across the battlefield, frost rapidly formed. Any small insects caught in its path froze solid—clearly, a ruthless environmental-control ice spell. Usually, the spell's slow speed made it easy to dodge, but the giant Tibbers was a perfect target.
Not waiting to see the result, Auror immediately cast another spell. He could no longer treat Annie as a child—who is this terrifying little girl?
Almost instantly, two stunning spells fired from tricky angles—but they only made the flames on Annie's shield swirl without effect.
Then, to Auror's disbelief, the flames on her shifted, turning a cold, icy blue that seemed to freeze everything it touched.
He turned instinctively—and saw the fire around the bear also turning color…
Of course, his earlier ice spell merged perfectly with the blue flames, and the bear even let out a satisfied low growl.
In disbelief, Auror watched as the bear opened its mouth wide, forming a ball of ice-flame in the center. The ball expanded, chilling the air around it.
Instinctively, he raised his wand to strike—but an extreme sense of danger surged through him.
Rolling, he suddenly felt sharp pain in his back, losing all sensation. Apart from the chilling pain that felt like it could freeze his marrow, he glanced sideways—azure flames raged around him, freezing every plant and turning it to powder in the wind.
A bitter smile spread across Auror's lips—What was I thinking? I should have explained myself earlier…
Who could have imagined that a mere little girl would crush him so utterly on the first strike? Would he even survive today?
He barely summoned one last protective shield with his frozen, uncooperative hand. But it was too late—the ice-flame ball shot straight at him.
The shield shattered effortlessly, and as he braced for impact, a warm sensation enveloped him. A faint purple dome appeared before his eyes, and a familiar voice echoed:
"Don't kill anyone—bad guys can be handled quietly. What if you get yourself dragged into this chaos?"
