For a fourth-year boy whom the school had practically allowed to go on dates, having a girl enter his tent wasn't particularly strange—especially since it wasn't nighttime.
When a girl entered, even the boys who saw her wouldn't come and go casually. This was precisely why that professor had chosen to drink the compound potion and disguise himself as a girl—an exceptionally clever move.
Unfortunately, he had come in such a rush this time that he had forgotten to update his information—though even if he had, it wouldn't have been instantaneous.
He knew nothing about the events of last night or that morning. He had simply rushed over, disguising himself, after obtaining Allen's location from his undercover agent here—so naturally, he failed.
Because Allen had handed over a perfectly legitimate leave request, the news of him being ill spread quickly.
Thus, it was not impossible for a little girl delivering meals to intercept him as he emerged from the tent.
Hurrying away from Allen's tent, Auror couldn't help but feel frustrated—he had lost the biggest support of his plan.
If Allen had helped him, taking a student away would have been a piece of cake. He would only need to manipulate Dumbledore a bit and could easily remove the student from the other professors he considered vigilant, without even exposing his agents.
Sadly, his bribe failed to sway that little money-lover, meaning none of his convenient plans would work. He had no choice but to push the plan aside and start over.
In his regret, he failed to notice that his latest disguise was somewhat messy, and the small coin pouch in his hand was far too conspicuous—especially since the little girl recognized it.
Because of Allen's unusual sense of finance, he carried a lot of cash. To manage it efficiently, Annie and Allen had bought several small pouches, each holding coins in denominations of twenty, fifty, or one hundred Galleons.
At that moment, the pouch in Auror's hand was instantly recognizable to Annie—it contained one hundred Galleons, and it belonged to her family.
So just as Auror was about to leave, a small girl, even shorter than him in his potion-altered form, blocked his path.
"Excuse me—sorry to bother you. May I ask who you are? If you don't mind, could we get acquainted?" The little girl's tone was calm, her eyes clear and impossible to refuse. Auror, however, could only feel that trouble had arrived.
Annie naturally did not recognize him, but he certainly recognized her—Allen's younger sister, who, of course, was far beyond the capabilities of that pervert. Yet he had no intention of greeting her.
At present, he was an unwelcome figure in the Japanese region. If his identity were exposed, he could face all sorts of attacks. Though he wanted to convince Allen through familial ties, now was clearly not the right time.
Auror gave a small, polite smile. "Sorry, I'm very happy to meet you, but I really have urgent business. I can't be delayed. If there's time, let's get to know each other another day."
He turned to leave, but a wand pointed directly at him, causing him to pause.
"Last chance. Who are you?"
"Alright—little girl, don't be angry, I'm actually—"
As he spoke, a badge on his clothes emitted a dazzling flash, forcing the girl to instinctively shut her eyes.
Silently apologizing in his mind, Auror ran toward the surrounding trees as fast as he could—he needed to hide before causing a commotion.
Annie stomped her foot in frustration, set down her basket, and chased after the disappearing figure. That person was definitely suspicious—possibly a thief!
Since it was class time, few students were around the camp, and Allen's group was in a more secluded area, no one else noticed the chase—just two 'girls' in pursuit.
Normally, Annie could never catch someone with Auror's longer legs. Unfortunately for him, Valor appeared at just that moment—much livelier than the owls, strolling around after bullying them.
Valor originally had no interest in the girl running ahead. But it also saw Annie chasing behind—so naturally, it intervened.
Just as Auror happily thought he could shake off the girl behind him, a sudden soul-piercing pain struck, forcing his body uncontrollably backward, while Valor's mocking caw filled his ears.
Auror's face turned pale—he knew this crow. It was that pervert's gift. Could it be planning to turn on him?
Having been an Auror for years, he found this somewhat normal—but he quickly realized he was overthinking. The pursuer was just the little girl. Of course, it was the family pet; its assistance made sense. He had worried unnecessarily.
Still—no one else was around to help now. While he wouldn't seriously hurt the girl, giving her a little lesson wouldn't hurt, as long as it wasn't excessive.
The little pervert could understand this excuse. After all, his sister was chasing too hard—he had no other way to escape.
What Auror didn't know was that Allen was already aware of the situation. Valor had urgently contacted him, sending a message that Annie was about to get into a fight, which startled Allen mid-read.
Oh no… who is it? Annie's current power would overwhelm normal wizards—real skill wasn't even needed. If Valor reported it, it must be a serious fight. What if someone got injured? Or worse… what if the little girl didn't hold back?
Worried, Allen magically locked his tent and stealthily ran toward the scene. He needed to hurry—if he arrived late, the other party could be in serious danger!
Meanwhile, Auror drew his wand, full of confidence. "Little girl—you are undoubtedly sharp and cautious, but you must understand one thing. For a wizard, strength is the most important. And when your strength is insufficient, some matters are best left alone."
