The contraction of the front line gave the Dead End Butchers an opening. One of them stomped on a pile of Ethereals, which then detonated, launching the one-ton behemoth towards the Shiyu Pillar.
A massive mech stood in the Butcher's path, but it was swatted aside by a sweep of its arm. The Shiyu Pillar was left exposed, and the others could only watch helplessly as the Butcher raised its long-handled weapon to strike.
Whoosh!
A storm erupted. The anticipated destruction of the Shiyu Pillar never happened. A figure now stood before it, effortlessly catching the Butcher's descending weapon with one hand. The sudden stop of immense kinetic energy was what had created the gale-force winds.
"Aaargh!"
The Dead End Butcher, enraged that its powerful attack had been blocked, roared at the Kamen Rider before it, oblivious to the fate that awaited.
"Noisy," Mo Xuan said.
Gripping the Butcher's weapon with his right hand, Mo Xuan raised the index finger of his left hand towards the sky. A moment later, a miniature black hole appeared at his fingertip. With a flick of his finger, he sent it flying.
The Dead End Butcher was hit square in the chest. Its body, as if suddenly weightless, was pulled backward by the black hole, flying into the horde of Ethereals. The black hole then rapidly expanded, completely consuming the Butcher and a large number of surrounding Ethereals, leaving a hemispherical crater in the ground.
An eerie silence fell. The soldiers stared warily at the mysterious rider who had appeared out of nowhere. Their training held, and though they were confronted with something beyond comprehension, they did not panic. Still, tension was unavoidable. They didn't know if this powerful being was friend or foe, and accepting help from such a mysterious source could come at a great cost.
Mo Xuan tightened his grip on the long-handled weapon and hurled it at another Dead End Butcher. The weapon became a black blur, instantly piercing the Butcher's chest and shattering the black hole hidden within. A gaping hole now ran straight through its torso.
The colossal body of the Dead End Butcher crashed to the ground. Two new arms sprouted from its body as it entered its second phase. This one was luckier than the first, which hadn't even had the chance to transform before being swallowed by the black hole.
Mo Xuan vanished, reappearing at the front lines, face to face with the Ethereal horde. Dozens of Thanatos-class Ethereals aimed their bows at him, loosing a volley of energy arrows at his vital points.
Mo Xuan simply clenched his right fist and punched forward. Countless Ethereals exploded under the force. The ground itself couldn't withstand the impact and erupted. Scientifically speaking, his punch had compressed, collapsed, and then annihilated the space within a certain radius.
It was a simple, direct punch that no Ethereal could withstand.
As for the incoming arrows, Mo Xuan didn't even bother with his void-space shield. According to the specifications of his Black Hole Form armor, he could take a few Rider Kicks to the face without a scratch. The shield was just an extra precaution, mainly for dealing with his "Evolt" family.
The moment the arrows touched his armor, they melted like ice in the sun, failing to even polish the surface. Mo Xuan couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
After clearing the Ethereal cluster, Mo Xuan vanished again, reappearing next to a Thanatos. The Thanatos reacted instantly, attempting to escape with its teleportation ability. But Mo Xuan was faster. He grabbed its arm mid-teleport, pulling it out of the dimensional rift and crushing its head.
"Slow as a grandmother with a cane," Mo Xuan remarked, dropping the headless Thanatos as it dissolved into black particles. He had previously used Faiz's Axel Watch to easily catch a teleporting Thanatos. But now, relying solely on Kamen Rider Evol's own speed, he was completely overwhelming them. It felt like he was bullying children, a stark contrast to their usual role as reapers of human souls.
The next moment, Mo Xuan appeared beside two more Thanatos. Their Hati-class armored escorts rushed to intercept him, but Mo Xuan backhanded them. The blow landed on their most fortified part—their heads. The Hati's head armor shattered, followed by the rest of its head and body. By the time it hit the ground, only its lower half remained.
For the first time, the two Thanatos felt fear. They simultaneously activated their teleportation, fleeing in opposite directions, thinking Mo Xuan could only chase one. They still didn't comprehend the power of the Black Hole Form. Mo Xuan appeared next to the Thanatos on the left and delivered a kick, then vanished and reappeared next to the one on the right with another kick.
Both Thanatos exploded in mid-air. Against one of the most powerful bosses in history, even escape was a luxury they couldn't afford.
Floating in mid-air, Mo Xuan was suddenly struck by a feeling of godhood, as if everything below him were mere ants. Even the Hollow Zero would have to bow before his power. There was no challenge at all.
"Time to wrap this up."
Mo Xuan raised his right hand, a nascent black hole forming in his palm. He threw it to the ground, where it instantly transformed into a terrifying, gaping maw that began to devour the Ethereals. The maw seemed insatiable, consuming everything in its path. After clearing the surrounding Ethereals, it turned its attention to the remaining Dead End Butchers. The two surviving Butchers dug their massive fingers into the ground, but their lower bodies were still dragged towards the black hole.
The deep gouges in the ground, like tire tracks, were a testament to their desperation. But despair couldn't save them. When the black hole closed, the Dead End Butchers were gone.
Meanwhile, Mo Xuan had dealt with the Thanatos archers positioned on the high ground. The rooftops of the surrounding buildings were littered with the fragmented remains of Ethereal corpses.
Confirming that no Ethereals were left alive, Mo Xuan teleported to the center of the defensive team. Instantly, dozens of rifles were aimed at him. The soldiers' faces were grim, their tense cheeks glistening with sweat. They all knew that if this mysterious rider had any ill intentions towards the Shiyu Tower, no one could stop him today.
Mo Xuan glanced at the human soldiers around him, noted their numbers, raised his right hand, and snapped his fingers.
The space around them suddenly shifted. Before the human faction could react, they found themselves in a familiar-looking place. The Shiyu Pillar they were supposed to be defending seemed to have grown hundreds of times thicker. Was this the main Shiyu structure itself?
Even the most resolute among them lowered their weapons. Mo Xuan had teleported them all back to the outpost in an instant. This was beyond human capability. In his presence, even the seven Hollow Hunters would seem like children, let alone ordinary people like them.
"Don't just stand there. Get the wounded to the infirmary," Mo Xuan said, clapping his hands together. His voice was distorted, making it impossible to tell if he was male or female, but his meaning was clear.
The soldiers snapped back to reality. The comrades who had been injured in the battle were still lying on the ground. They would likely die if they didn't receive immediate medical attention. It seemed this mysterious rider had teleported them all out with the intention of saving them.
Seeing this, Mo Xuan prepared to leave. Since he was already here, he might as well go back into the Hollow and wreak havoc. His "Evolt Experience Card" was only good for a day, and he was determined to bring smiles to the faces of the Ethereals.
"Wait! Are you... here to help us again?" Zhu Yuan called out.
Mo Xuan would have ignored anyone else, but he was willing to stay and exchange a few words with his girlfriend.
"Help... is probably not the right word. I've been studying humanity recently." Mo Xuan paused, feeling that simply saying he was helping humanity would cheapen his image. He was, after all, an alien lifeform who had destroyed countless planets, a villain who threatened to destroy the world at the drop of a hat. He had a role to play, and he needed to stay in character as Evolt.
"You're not human?" Zhu Yuan asked, her question effectively killing the conversation.
Mo Xuan could only remain silent. What could he do? This was his girlfriend. He couldn't just throw a cane at her, could he?
"Mysterious Rider, you can't leave," a man's voice suddenly interjected.
Mo Xuan turned his head to see a group of well-equipped soldiers rushing over to surround him. Their high-tech gear was more sophisticated and powerful than what the soldiers in the Hollow used. They were clearly an elite unit.
"Are you... talking to me?" Mo Xuan asked, placing one hand on his hip and tilting his body slightly to look at Roland.
The air pressure suddenly dropped. Everyone except Zhu Yuan found it difficult to breathe, instinctively wanting to kneel to make breathing easier. A consensus formed in their minds: this rider was not human. He was a monster in a humanoid suit.
