Within no time, five years had passed and Finn had finished his training with his brothers and now he was a master at archery,
the sword, the axe, and spear. Now, it was time for him to move on to start his magic training. He would learn healing magic from his sister Emily and defensive magic from his sister Sophia.
Finn walked up to his sisters and told them that he was ready to start training in magic
Sophia and Emily smiled at him and told him he could only learn one type of magic at a time.
They asked him to choose - healing magic first or defensive magic.
Finn turned to Emily and asked, "How long would healing magic take to learn?"
Emily smiled at him, "Two years, it will take you two years to learn healing magic." she said with a grinn
He nodded and then turned to Sophia and asked, "And how long would defensive magic take?"
"One year and a half is all you need to learn defensive magic," she said with a smile.
Finn grinned, excitement radiating from his face. "Very well then, I'll learn defensive magic first and after that I'll learn healing magic!" he said enthusiastically.
Finn's eyes widened with excitement. "By the way, where's Aria?" he asked curiously.
Emily smiled and said, "Oh, she's meditating in the forest. She finished her healing magic and she knows defensive magic now."
"Now she's using nature magic - considering she's an elf, nature magic is a natural thing for her to learn ."
Finn nodded, a hint of envy in his expression. "She's so far ahead of me," he said with a chuckle.
Sophia chuckled and patted his shoulder. "Hey, you've got your own strengths, Finn. You're catching up fast."
Shortly after, three and a half years passed peacefully, and Finn had mastered all forms of healing magic and all forms of defensive magic. A top prodigy in his prime.
Finn's six siblings stood before him, beaming with pride. "Well done, Finn," Fredrick said with a smile.
"We've taught you everything we can.
Now, Mother and Father have something they'd like to say to you." Emily chamed in with a sorrowful tone of voice
Finn's curiosity piqued, he followed his siblings to the main hall where Amber and Franklin were waiting. They sat down, and Finn took a seat beside them, playing it cool.
Amber's expression turned serious. "Finn, do you remember your grandmother, Lyra, the Demon Queen?"
Finn nodded,. "Yes, Mother. I remember her." He responded with a frown.
Amber's eyes locked onto his. "The reason we've been training you for the past eight and a half years is... Because your grandmother has claimed you, as her next successor. In one year and six months, you'll have to join her in the Demon Realm to complete the succession ritual and become the Heir."
Finn's eyes widened, or so it seemed. He took Amber's hand, his voice filled with determination. "Mother, I already knew." He said shocking everyone.
Then he continued
"I've known since I was five. I snuck out of my room, to play Dungeon Quest with Aria that night, and I overheard you and Father talking to Grandmother's hologram in the dining hall."
"I've been training for this moment, to bring her down from the inside and protect our family... and Aria, and the Elvin Kingdom."
Franklin's eyebrows rose slightly, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "You know about Aria's connection to this, don't you?"
Finn nodded, his jaw set. "I do, Father. I'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe."
Franklin's eyes snapped open, his expression alarmed. "But You mean to say you knew all this time? Why didn't you say anything?" he demanded.
Finn looked up at his parents, a determined glaze in his eyes. "I didn't want to worry you both. I wanted to handle this on my own, to defeat her and protect everyone without you worrying about me."
Amber's face softened, a mix of surprise and concern etched on her features. "Finn, we're your parents. We'd always worry about you, no matter what. But... I'm proud of you for being so determined."
Franklin nodded, his expression still stern but with a hint of pride. "We need to talk strategy, then. How do you plan on defeating Lyra from the inside?"
Finn nodded, a hint of unease creeping into his expression. "I not sure yet and, There's just one thing... I don't really have experience fighting people. What if... what if I freeze up or something?"
"Franklin turned to Finn with a wide smile and said, "You know Finn, if you want to gain experience in fighting someone, you can fight me. Your old man may not look like much, but I was once known as the Fast Blade in the Elmon Kingdom," he said with a proud smile."
Amber shook her head. "No. If Finn is gonna fight someone, it shouldn't be you, Franklin. It should be me. He's going to the Demon Realm. So he needs to learn to fight demons first before anything else."
Franklin began to stumble, "But... but, my dear, if you fight the boy... you... you might kill him by accident. You are the second most powerful demon in the world, next only to your mother." His face turned pale.
Amber turned to him with a frown and replied, "If Finn is to survive the Demon Realm, he needs to learn to fight strong opponents. You cannot baby him." She said with determination in her voice
Franklin sighed and stepped aside, his voice laced with concern and desperation, "Fine, my dear. Just... just don't kill him, that's all," he said, his eyes pleading with Amber, fear etched on his face.
Amber turned to Finn, her expression stern, eyes blazing with intensity, "Finn, you will fight me in my demon form," she said, her voice dripping with authority and command. "On the battlefield, there are no friends, there are no families. There's only enemies, and only one goal: to survive," she growled, her tone menacing and cold. "So when you attack, when you fight me, fight with the intention to kill. Otherwise, you might end up dead yourself," she snapped, her eyes flashing with a fierce intensity. "Am I understood?" she demanded, her voice like thunder, making Finn's heart skip a beat.
Finn nodded, his eyes locked on his mother's, determination burning within him, "Very well, Mother. I understand. I will not hold back," he said, his voice firm and resolute, his jaw clenched in determination.
Amber's gaze narrowed, her lips curling into a fierce smile, "I would give you the courtesy of not holding back either," she said, her voice dripping with a deadly promise, her eyes gleaming with a fierce excitement.
