Chapter 23 - chapter 21The Blush and the Departure

The Gaze of the Predator

While Sofia was sitting on the velvet sofa, the pleats of her saree had shifted slightly. Dimitri's sharp, piercing gaze was fixed on Sofia's exposed waist, where the soft morning light danced across her skin and the folds of the fabric. Seeing that familiar intoxicating look and his deep observation, Sofia's discomfort began to grow.

Adjusting herself slightly, she looked directly into Dimitri's eyes and asked:

"What are you looking at like that? Are you thinking of drawing more patterns on my body?"

Dimitri did not shift his gaze. Slowly and deliberately, he traced an imaginary line with his finger near her stomach. Sofia froze in fear, but Dimitri only smirked—a mysterious, chilling smile.

In a low, hushed voice, he said:

"The saree has wrapped you in a strange magic, Sofia. I was noticing how extraordinary your body has become, beyond the Phoenix and the Alta I've already painted. I am thinking—art doesn't just belong on the back or the feet; art exists in every curve. Your stillness is giving me a new kind of inspiration."

Sofia replied bitterly, "Inspiration, or just another excuse for agony? Do you want me to keep acting as your 'art'?"

Dimitri leaned closer to her face and whispered:

"You used to act for the control room, Sofia. In front of me, you are completely transparent. I see the trembling of your body; I see the rise and fall of your stomach when you are afraid. That is my success—bringing you entirely under my control."

From his pocket, he pulled out not a bottle of Alta, but a thin, delicate chain studded with diamonds. Holding it near her waist, he said, "This will look exquisite with your saree. Make sure your hands don't shake when I put this on you."

The Navel Piercing Chain

Dimitri remained silent, his eyes filled with a dark, obsessive hunger. He pushed the saree aside further, exposing her midriff and navel. Sofia recoiled instinctively, but she was utterly helpless before him.

He took the slender diamond-studded chain. As the cold metal touched her skin, a shiver ran down her spine. Dimitri wrapped the chain around her waist with surgical precision. Then, using the tip of his finger, he set the diamond pendant of the chain right into the center of Sofia's navel.

The heat of Dimitri's touch against her navel sent a jolt of electricity through Sofia's entire body. He secured the jewel firmly, looked into her eyes, and whispered:

"Now, this center-point of your body is also captured under my seal. Every time this diamond brushes against your skin, you will remember—who you belong to. With every breath you take, this chain will vibrate, and that vibration will tell me exactly how close you are to me."

Sofia closed her eyes in pain. The diamond felt like a poisonous thorn piercing her skin. She whispered, "You have turned me into a doll, Dimitri. Does it give you joy to chain me like this?"

Dimitri lifted her chin, a triumphant smile on his lips.

"Not a doll, Sofia. You are my 'Living Art.' This diamond on your belly is the mark of my kingdom. From now on, even the rhythm of your heartbeat will be under my control."

He leaned in and placed a deep, lingering kiss on the part of her neck still stained with red Alta. Sofia realized then that Dimitri wasn't just claiming her body—he was enslaving her soul.

The Control Room's Despair

The Young DGFI Agent watched the CCTV footage as the curtains of Dimitri's mansion were drawn shut. He slammed his fist onto the desk in rage and hopelessness.

"F#ck! Dimitri is plunging her into darkness. He is destroying her in such a way that even if we rescue her, we might never find the old Sofia again. Is he shackling every inch of her body?"The moment the diamond was set into her navel was so intimate that a sharp tremor shot through both Dimitri and Sofia. Even Dimitri's stoic, stone-like exterior cracked for a heartbeat; his ears turned an otherworldly shade of red from embarrassment. Sofia, overwhelmed by a mix of humiliation and a strange physical surge, looked away—her cheeks burning bright with a blend of shame and fury.

Breaking the suffocating silence of the room, Dimitri suddenly composed himself. Without a word, he swept Sofia into his powerful arms once more. Her saree was still disheveled, and the diamond at her waist let out a faint, rhythmic sound as it brushed against the fabric of Dimitri's suit.

He carried her down the stairs and straight into the garage, where his favorite and fastest machine stood waiting—a jet-black Pagani Huayra.

As the gull-wing doors swung upward, Dimitri carefully placed Sofia into the passenger seat. She remained frozen in embarrassment. The moment Dimitri hit the ignition, the monstrous roar of the Pagani's engine shook the entire garage.

He placed his hand on the gear shift, looked at Sofia, and said calmly:

"Are you blushing, Sofia? This crimson glow makes you even more beautiful than my Alta ever could. But remember—my love is like the speed of this Pagani: once it starts, there is no way to stop."

He floored the accelerator. The car shot out of the mansion like an arrow, tearing onto the main road.

The Meltdown in the Control Room

Back in Dhaka, the control room was practically on fire. Seeing the speed of the Pagani and Sofia's disappearance, the Senior Commander's blood pressure hit the ceiling. He turned on the speakerphone and began a verbal assault on the young agent—this time using raw, unfiltered language.

The Commander roared:

"You son of a b#tch! You pack of idiots! Are you there to suck your thumbs? What do you mean he's in a Pagani? The car is doing 200, and you're sitting there watching it like a movie? F#ck! If that girl is lost, I'll make shoes out of your skin, you hear me? Where is that bastard Dimitri taking her?"

The Young DGFI Agent, trembling with rage, slammed his headset onto the table. He didn't stay silent this time; he screamed back at the Commander:

"Shut up, sir! Just shut up! You can sit in your AC room in Dhaka and scream f#cking insults, but you have no idea what's happening here in the field! Dimitri has gone mad! He has made Sofia a part of his own body. Am I supposed to stop a Pagani engine with my bare hands? The drones aren't working against his jammers! Keep your insults in your pocket, because Sofia is now beyond our reach!"

The other agents cringed in fear. No one had ever imagined the Young Agent would talk back to the Commander like that. A terrifying silence fell over the room.

Inside the Pagani: The Great Betrayal

While chaos and screaming reigned in the control room, there was an ethereal silence inside the Pagani. Dimitri held the steering wheel with one hand and gently touched Sofia's flushed cheek with the other.

Suddenly, Dimitri hacked into the control room's audio feed and played the recording of their insults through the car's high-end speakers. Sofia heard, with her own ears, how her own department was speaking about her in the lowest, most vulgar terms.

Dimitri gave a mocking smile and said:

"Do you hear that, Sofia? To them, you are just an 'asset'—an object. And me? I am carrying you toward the stars in this royal carriage. Tell me, who is more vile? Those men in the control room, or me?"

Sofia stared out the window at the blurred world rushing by. A single tear escaped her eye, falling directly onto the diamond resting in her navel.

The Ultimate Hack

Sofia looked at Dimitri in stunned silence, her eyes wide. The harsh insults of the control room still echoed through the speakers. She couldn't believe the agency she had risked her life for was treating her this way.

She asked in a trembling voice, "How... how do you know this? How are you hearing them? Have you hacked their entire system?"

Dimitri took a sharp turn with effortless grace. His mysterious, confident smile widened. He pressed a blue glowing button on the dashboard to kill the audio.

"Sofia, did you really think someone could breathe in Dimitri Alexievich's empire without me knowing? Your control room's security is like a glass wall to me. I haven't just hacked them; I've been recording every insult and every scream for the last three hours."

He glanced at her once more.

"They don't want to save you, Sofia. They just don't want me to have your information. To them, you are a computer made of flesh and bone. Yet, look—while they scream f#ck at you, I have carried you in my arms into this masterpiece of a car. Now tell me, who is your real enemy?"

Sofia slumped back into her seat. His words pierced her heart like arrows. She realized Dimitri hadn't just painted on her body; he had systematically destroyed her faith in her own people.

"So... they knew from the start that you had caught me?" she whispered.

Dimitri laughed—a cold, terrifying sound. "They knew everything. But they didn't warn you because they wanted to see how far you could go. You were an experiment to them, Sofia. But to me? You are my art, and I will never let this world take you away."

The Final Message

Back in the control room, the Young Agent suddenly jumped back and ripped off his headphones. A graphic appeared on the screen—a smiling emoji followed by bold letters:

"STOP BARKING, COMMANDER. SHE IS MINE NOW."

Every system in the room jammed. The Commander turned red with rage, his mouth moving in a scream, but no sound came out. Dimitri had muted their microphones as well.
