Chapter 114 - (S2) Final Chapter - blinding Light...

Chapter: The Eternal Star

The blood-stained wind died down, leaving the sky frozen in a bruised, violet twilight. Between them, the ancestral white globe pulsed with a terrifying, ancient power as it drank greedily from Jade's spilling Devil blood.

Jade's body trembled violently, her breathing ragged, her lips drenched in crimson. Looking up into Justin's panic-stricken golden eyes, a soft, heartbreaking smile touched her pale face.

"Do you know, Justin..." Jade whispered, her voice trembling with raw, romance-novel tragedy, "...in my previous life, when I was Farina... I was the one who sealed your ancestors' souls inside this white globe. I did not know then that one day, my own blood would be the key to bring them back to life." She scoffed weakly through the pain. "It is my karma... Do not be sad for me. More than that... in this life, it is your sacred duty as Fox King to bring them back. I am simply doing this... for my husband."

A fresh stream of blood spilled from her lips, staining her chin.

"Jade! No!" Justin wept hysterically, his strong hands shaking as he tried to staunch the wound. "I know it is my duty! But I cannot lose you for that! I don't want them if it costs me you!"

"It is already done, my love..." Jade murmured softly.

With the last of her failing physical strength, Jade broke his hold and stepped back. Raising the glowing white globe in her trembling palm, she channeled her essence into it. The globe floated up into the mid-air, radiating a brilliant, celestial light. High above the battlefield, the majestic spectral forms of the ancient Fox ancestors began to materialize across the sky, returning to the mortal realm one by one.

Jade watched the miraculous light, a peaceful smile gracing her lips before her knees completely buckled.

"JADE!" Justin lunged forward, catching her falling body in his arms. He sank to the earth, gently resting her head on his lap, pulling her fragile frame tightly against his chest.

Tears trailed down Jade's pale cheeks. "I am happy now, Justin..." she choked out, her voice dropping into a fragile whisper. "But... I have only one regret in this life. My daughter... I couldn't find her... I never got to hold my baby..."

"I will find her!" Justin promised frantically, pressing his forehead against hers as his tears rained onto her skin. "We will find her together! Just stay with me, Jade! Please!"

Jade scoffed softly, her vision fading. "It is too late, Justin... But I know a way..."

"What way?" Justin asked desperately.

Jade slowly brought her trembling, bloodied hand toward her chest, channeling her remaining, volatile devil power. Realizing what she was about to do, Justin quickly seized her wrist. "What are you doing, Jade?! Stop!"

"Trust me... Justin..." Jade whispered softly.

Using her absolute willpower, Jade pulled her own glowing, purple Devil Core out from her chest. The radiant gem shone with a blinding, ethereal light in her palm. With a soft, final gasp, Jade shattered her own core with her bare hand!

"Find my daughter... wherever she is in this world!" Jade commanded, her soul holding on by a single, desperate thread.

BOOM!

As the core shattered, a powerful stream of pure, intelligent Devil Energy evicted outward, sweeping across the battlefield. It bypassed the crowd, zooming straight toward Princess Merin. Merin gasped in sudden panic, wrapping her arms tightly around four-year-old Fiona to shield her. But the gentle purple light wrapped around the terrified little girl, effortlessly lifting Fiona into the air and carrying her through the sky, gently setting her down right beside Jade.

Jade looked up, a radiant, tearful smile blooming across her dying face. "...My daughter."

Justin froze in utter, shock-filled disbelief, staring at the little girl. "Fiona...?"

Beside the crowd, Merin slowly turned her tear-stained face toward her husband, King Henry. "So... Fiona is Jade's daughter...?" Merin choked out, her voice breaking with profound betrayal. "You lied to me all this time, Henry?!"

Henry could not meet her eyes. He slowly bent his head in deep, silent guilt. Merin collapsed into tears, her heart breaking for the child she had raised as her own.

Meanwhile, little Fiona stood trembling beside the dying Devil Goddess, terrified by the sheer intensity of the moment. Jade reached out her blood-stained, pale hand, gently grasping Fiona's tiny fingers, and placed them firmly onto Justin's open palm.

Jade looked up into Justin's eyes, her smile filled with a mother's ultimate relief. "Take care of her, Justin... I never thought the Heaven Realm would hide my daughter from me again. In my previous life... they did the exact same thing."

Jade's tears overflowed, her tone turning deeply serious and desperate. "Justin... she faced so much trouble and bitter hardship in her previous life... But I want her to have all the happiness in the world in this life. Promise me... you will give her everything."

Justin wept openly, squeezing Fiona's tiny hand within his own as he held Jade close. "I promise you, Jade! I promise on my life and soul!"

Jade let out a soft, peaceful breath, her dark eyes shining with quiet contentment. "I can close my eyes in peace now..."

She smiled one last, beautiful time. Her chest rose in a slow, heavy breath—and then, her hand slipped gently from Justin's grip, falling lifelessly onto the earth.

Fiona gasped in terror, stepping back instinctively.

"JADE!" Justin's agonized roar echoed across the desolate plains, a sound of complete, ungodly heartbreak that shattered the quiet sky.

Leo, Queen Irin, and Queen Liora rushed forward, dropping to their knees beside her. Irin wept hysterically, clutching her lost daughter's cold hand. "If she had never been separated from me... she would never have had to endure such a painful, tragic life!"

Leo buried his face in his hands, sobbing uncontrollably, while Liora whispered in a broken, bitter tone, "I have witnessed your death once again before my very eyes..."

Ten Days Later: The Heaven Realm

In front of Prince Ryan's sleek, marble tombstone, a silent, somber crowd had gathered under the dim celestial light. Emperor Ren, Queen Lia, Princess Merin, King Henry, Ryan's twin four-year-old boys, and Emily stood together.

The twin boys were weeping softly, clutching their mother's dress, while Lia silently wiped away her tears. Emily stood pale and quiet—heartbroken, yet composed after the ancient funeral rituals concluded.

Noticing Merin standing nearby, hollow and desolate after losing both her brother and the child she loved, Emily took a slow step forward, leading her twin boys with her.

"Don't worry, Merin..." Emily spoke softly, her gentle voice cutting through the solemn quiet. "You still have my boys. They love you just as much as they love me... You can raise them as your own children alongside me."

Merin looked up, her wall of grief instantly crumbling. She threw her arms around Emily, sobbing deeply into her shoulder. Emily held her tight, while Emperor Ren and Queen Lia let out a deep breath of relief at the sight of their newfound, healing bond. Henry watched with a quiet, grateful smile as the twin boys wrapped their tiny arms around both Emily and Merin.

The Fox Realm Palace Terrace

High atop the grand palace terrace in the Fox Realm, the cool evening breeze whistled through the carved stone pillars.

King Justin sat quietly on a smooth stone bench, his silver hair fluttering softly in the wind. Beside him sat little Fiona, her legs dangling over the edge as she stared down at her lap.

Justin looked down, reading the quiet fear on her delicate face. "Are you afraid of me?" he asked gently.

Fiona shook her head slightly. "No..."

"Then what is it?" Justin inquired softly. "Are you afraid of your mother?"

Fiona looked up, her small voice hesitant. "I'm not afraid of Mother Merin..."

Justin paused, his golden eyes filled with a tender sorrow. "I am asking about Jade."

Fiona quietly nodded her head.

Justin reached down, gently lifting her small frame and placing her comfortably onto his lap. "I know you were afraid," he spoke out softly, his baritone filled with deep understanding. "You saw her when she was delivering judgment... when she ended Ryan."

Fiona looked up into his eyes, her brow furrowing with childlike confusion. "But... isn't it wrong to kill someone?"

A bitter, quiet scoff escaped Justin's lips. "It is not wrong... to destroy a monster, even if we are forced to become a monster ourselves to do it."

Fiona wondered aloud, "Was... was Uncle Ryan truly a monster?"

Justin nodded slowly, gently running his fingers through her soft hair. "You do not know how much pain and dark suffering he inflicted upon my Jade... upon your mother. How can I even begin to explain it to you?"

SWOOSH!

A swirl of elegant purple smoke materialized on the terrace, and Queen Liora stepped out into the evening air. Justin remained completely calm, while little Fiona gasped in surprise, clinging instinctively to Justin's robes. Justin wrapped a protective arm around her.

"She was never a monster," Liora spoke out, her voice unusually soft as she looked at the young girl. "They turned her into one. They forced her hand. Your mother was actually a pleasant, exquisitely beautiful mortal girl... so kind, so full of warmth. I knew her better than anyone."

Justin smiled faintly, his gaze distant. "Me too..."

Fiona looked between the two of them, her small heart swelling. "So... my mother wasn't a monster?"

Liora's usual sharp patience snapped into gentle conviction. "Why do you keep calling her that?"

Fiona shrank back slightly. "No... I didn't mean..."

Fiona turned her wide eyes to Justin, her tone softening with sudden realization. "So... she didn't deserve to be mistreated by them? It wasn't her fault... they changed her?" She paused, her small hands clutching Justin's tunic as she looked up with a hopeful, tearful plea. "...Dad? Can I see her again?"

Justin's golden eyes filled with a sudden, painful ache.

Liora looked away quietly. "We cannot..."

Justin offered Fiona a tender, deeply loving smile. Bending down, he pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead. "We cannot go to her... but she can always see you."

Fiona and Liora both looked at him in wonder.

Justin raised his hand, pointing up into the vast, dark velvet sky, toward a single, brilliant star shining brighter than all the rest. "Look there... That brighter star in the sky... that is your mother. My Jade. She is watching over you from up there, every single moment."

Fiona looked up at the blazing star, a breathtaking, innocent smile blooming across her face. "...Mom."

Liora and Justin shared a quiet, bitter-sweet smile under the starlight. No force in heaven or earth, not even death itself, could ever break the unbreakable thread connecting a mother to her child. Jade's eternal love would forever wrap around her little Fiona like a warm, protective shield.
