The Unbroken Chain of Fate
The violent winds of the battlefield howled across the red-stained valley, carrying the scent of ash, ozone, and fresh blood. A suffocating silence seemed to envelope the immediate clearing around the Blue Moon royals, insulating them from the chaotic war raging in the distance.
Jade stood several paces away, her heart heavy, her chest heaving as she gripped her blood-stained palm. From her distance, she could only see Prince Leo holding his mother close, his lips moving frantically through a storm of tears, but the roaring winds swallowed his words whole. Jade couldn't hear what Leo and Irin were talking about.
"You might be surprised... how she became the Devil Goddess, Mom," Leo continued, his voice trembling with a profound, weeping sorrow as he wiped the crimson blood from Irin's lips. "I found a hidden black scroll in Zerath's private sanctum... It was prophesied long ago: a child born from the union of a Demon Father and a Goddess Mother carries a volatile, absolute fate. One of those twins was destined to awaken as a Devil."
Irin's breath hitched, her eyes wide with a agonizing, frozen shock.
"Zerath knew that truth early," Leo cried out, his tears trailing down his dirt-smeared face. "He knew Jade carried that fate! That is why he separated our sweet Jade from us the moment she was born. He cast her into the mortal realm, and later... he set a cruel, orchestrated plan to slaughter her mortal foster parents! Jade didn't kill Zerath out of senseless bloodlust, Mom... She killed him for vengeance! I uncovered the truth far too late... I never imagined she would end up turned into your enemy..."
Irin's shattered voice escaped in a ragged, broken whisper. "My... my daughter..." A violent sob ripped through her chest, her pale fingers clutching Leo's sleeves as her heart bled for her lost child. "No... Oh, Gods... how could this have happened to her...?"
Standing a short distance away, Jade slowly turned her gaze toward the wider expanse of the battlefield. Thousands of warriors lay dead across the scorched earth, their divine and demon armors shattered. A crushing, unbearable weight descended upon Jade's soul.
It is all because of me... Jade thought bitterly, a hot, singular tear escaping her dark lashes and tracing down her pale cheek. Queen Irin was right... I am nothing but a monster. A bloodthirsty curse upon this world.
Suddenly, high above the clouds, Prince Ryan's sharp eyes caught sight of his aunt, Queen Irin, coughing up blood on the ground. A dark, twisted fury exploded within him. He mistakenly assumed that Jade had dealt a lethal blow to Irin.
"Wretched devil!" Ryan bellowed, his voice echoing with the forbidden power of Ghostology.
Enacting a dark, malevolent spell, Ryan unleashed a colossal, crackling chain of dark fire straight from the heavy storm clouds! The pitch-black links of energy sizzled as they plummeted toward the earth with terrifying speed, aimed directly to incinerate Jade into dust.
Jade looked up, her dark eyes widening in sudden realization as the terrifying heat drew near. Exhausted, her core drained, she froze, her breath trapped in her throat. Nearby, Irin and Leo gasped in absolute horror. Jade slowly closed her eyes, preparing to accept the dark fire.
CLANK!
A blinding metallic shockwave shattered the air!
Jade opened her eyes, her breath catching in her chest. Standing directly in front of her was a tall, silver-haired figure. His regal frame trembled, but his grip was absolute as his bare hand wrapped tightly around the crackling, dark fire chain, stopping it inches from her face.
"Justin...!" Jade whispered, her voice cracking with raw, emotional disbelief.
It was Nine-Tailed Fox King Justin.
Having rushed back from his sanctum, he stood like an impenetrable wall before his beloved. But without his ancient Fox Core, Justin could not sustain such a vile, forbidden energy. The artificial core Jade had previously created for him inside his chest began to fracture under the immense dark pressure.
CRACK!
A sharp gasp escaped Justin's throat as a stream of fresh crimson blood spilled from his lips, staining his chin.
"Justin! Let go of it!" Irin roared from the ground, her voice laced with sudden panic. "It will completely demolish your core!"
Justin pushed through the agonizing pain, a weak, deeply romantic smile touching his blood-stained lips as he met Jade's wide, weeping eyes. "I don't care... even if my core is completely demolished," Justin spoke out, his deep baritone carrying an unyielding, serious devotion that echoed across the quiet plain. "I must protect my wife... as long as I still draw breath."
Tears overflowed from Jade's eyes, burning like hot iron against her cold skin. "No, Justin!" she cried out.
Wiping her tears with a desperate sweep of her sleeve, Jade violently shoved Justin away, stepping into his place to protect him. Raising her pale palm, a surge of vibrant purple Farina magic erupted from her skin, wrapping securely around the dark fire chain to hold it back.
"Jade, no!" Justin panicked, reaching out his hand as his heart screamed in agony for her.
"I must protect you!" Jade declared, her voice filled with a desperate, bleeding emotion. "I already failed to protect our baby daughter... I cannot fail to protect you too!"
Justin stood frozen, a profound, emotional devastation washing over his features as her raw words pierced his soul.
Above them, Ryan scoffed with cold, unhinged contempt. "What touching, tragic true love! I am truly impressed... But this pathetic love will only ensure one of you dies today! Look at you, Jade... my dark fire chain will shatter your very soul!"
Jade smirked through her agonizing pain, though her hands trembled violently as dark, corruptive veins began creeping up her arms. She felt as if the crushing weight of a thousand mountains had settled directly upon her chest, the dark energy violently fracturing her internal devil core.
BOOM!
Out of nowhere, a massive figure dashed across the war zone!
Demon King Dylan sprinted straight through the battlefield, striding past the stunned forms of Irin and Leo. He paused for a single fraction of a second, seeing his broken wife on the ground, before charging straight toward Jade!
With a mighty roar, Dylan unsheathed his grand demon sword and delivered a thunderous, silver-lit strike straight through the center of Ryan's dark fire chain!
SNAP!
The dark chain shattered into a million exploding embers! The violent backlash of energy erupted outward, throwing Dylan backward through the air. He crashed hard against the earth, coughing up a mouthful of dark blood as he planted his sword into the dirt to hold himself up.
Ryan stared down in utter, shock-filled disbelief. "Why... Uncle?!" he yelled, his voice cracking. He could not comprehend why his own uncle, a pillar of the demon realm, would stand against him to shield the Devil Goddess.
Because Dylan was born from the rare union of a Great Demon and a High Goddess, his bloodline carried the legendary Silver Star Power—the only divine frequency capable of severing the dark links of Ghostology!
Dylan slowly forced himself to his feet, wiping the blood from his mouth, his dark eyes blazing with an absolute, protective fury. "Leave her alone, Ryan!"
Jade and Justin looked at Dylan in complete, utter confusion, stunned by his unexpected sacrifice.
High above, Ryan roared in frustration, "Is she more important than me, Uncle?! She is nothing but a mere, wretched devil girl!"
"No, you fool!" Dylan's voice boomed across the entire blood-stained horizon like a clap of divine thunder, vibrating with raw, fatherly devotion. "She is my own daughter!"
Ryan froze, completely stunned, his mind shattering. "What...?"
A few paces behind, Leo let out a soft, emotional smile, while Irin remained on the ground, her pale lips repeating the same broken whisper like a sacred mantra: "...Jade is my daughter... my sweet baby girl..."
Justin's golden eyes widened, a breathless whisper escaping his lips as he looked at the Demon King. "His... daughter...?"
Jade stood frozen beneath the dying, ember-lit sky. Her chest heaved, her tears overflowing in a hot, continuous stream as she looked at the battle-worn King standing fiercely before her.
"...Dad?" Jade whispered softly, the long-forbidden word slipping from her lips as the deep, mysterious truth of her bloodline finally embraced her amidst the ashes of war.

The Price of a Father's Sins
"Impossible..." Ryan muttered, his voice cracking as his blood-red eyes darted frantically across the clearing. The revelation of Jade's true parentage had shattered his sharp, calculated concentration for a single, fatal heartbeat.
Jade did not let that split second go to waste.
With a silent, blinding tear in space, she vanished from where she stood. Before Ryan could even raise his dark-fire aura, Jade materialized directly beside him in the air. Her eyes burned with a terrifying purple glow as her hands moved in a fluid, lethal motion. Concentrated Farina magic burst from her fingertips, wrapping like incandescent iron cuffs around both of Ryan's wrists, sealing his dark Ghostology power instantly.
With a brutal, sweeping strike of her palm, Jade slammed Ryan straight out of the sky.
BOOM!
Ryan crashed heavily onto the scorched, blood-stained earth, coughing up a dark cloud of dust and crimson blood. Before he could push himself up, the sharp, cold tip of Jade's twin-edged sword pressed firmly against his throat, mere millimeters from his racing pulse.
Her midnight-black hair fell like a dark shroud around her porcelain face, her chest heaving as she stared down at him with an icy, terrifying intensity.
"Tell me..." Jade roared, her baritone echoing across the silent war zone like thunder. "...where is my daughter?! I know you have wanted to destroy my life for five long years! What did you do to my flesh and blood?!"
Pinned to the dirt, Ryan merely sneered, a mocking, unhinged smile twisting his bloodied lips. "I won't tell you," he whispered, his voice dripping with poisonous spite. "You will never find her, Jade. You will suffer in the dark forever."
"You monster!" Nine-Tailed Fox King Justin roared from the ridge. He tried desperately to haul his broad frame off the ground, but his chest spasmed violently. The artificial core Jade had forged for him was fractured beyond repair, and he collapsed back onto his knees, scoffing up fresh crimson, his golden eyes burning with helpless, desperate fury for his queen.
A terrifying rage exploded in Jade's soul. Her jaw clenched, her dark purple eyes flaring with absolute, murderous resolve. "Then die with your secrets!" she hissed, raising her sword high into the sky, ready to drive the lethal blade through Ryan's heart once and for all.
FLASH!
A radiant, blinding sphere of pure white celestial aura split the heavens, descending directly between Jade and her fallen enemy.
As the blinding light dissipated, Emily sprinted forward from the portal, throwing her entire body over Ryan's fallen form! Step by step behind her emerged the highest royals of the High Palace—Emperor Ren, Queen Lia, Princess Merin holding tiny Fiona close to her chest, and Ryan's four-year-old twin sons.
Jade's sword halted in mid-air, inches away from slicing through Emily's back.
Emily turned her head, her face pale, her wide, tear-stained eyes looking up into the face of her old companion for the first time in five agonizing years. "No... Jade, please! Stop!" Emily sobbed out, her voice breaking into a million pieces.
Jade stood frozen, her dark eyes scanning Emily's weeping face. A bitter, hollow scoff escaped Jade's lips, her tone dropping into a low, emotionally raw whisper. "Emily... Why am I forced to see you again... in a state like this?"
"Leave him... Please, I beg you, leave him!" Emily pleaded frantically, her hands trembling as she held them out to shield her husband. "Please, Jade... leave him for me!"
Jade's eyes welled with hot, bitter tears, a harsh, tragic laugh escaping her throat. "Leave him...? For you?" Jade's voice trembled with a deep, romance-novel grief, her lips shaking violently as she looked down at the woman she once cherished. "Five years ago, Emily... I had already forgiven him for his past sins! I knew he was one of the perpetrators who slaughtered my mortal parents and my sweet sister Gloria... Do you know why I stayed my blade back then? Only for you. Because you were marrying him!"
Emily gasped violently, her breath catching in her throat as if struck by lightning. Her wide eyes turned in utter shock toward Ryan. "What...?" she choked out, her mind shattering under the truth she had been kept blind from for years.
"I spared his wretched life because I wanted you to be happy," Jade cried out, a hot tear streaming down her pale, dust-smeared cheek. "And how does he repay that mercy?! I still do not know what vile horrors he inflicted upon my newborn daughter... whether she breathes or lies buried in the dirt!"
Emily slowly turned her gaze down to the man lying beneath her. Her chest heaved, her voice cracking into a desperate, heart-wrenching sob. "Ryan... what does she mean...? Did you... are you truly such a heartless monster?!"
Ryan's expression hardened into a cold, manipulative mask. Looking up into his wife's eyes, he lowered his baritone into a deceptive, soothing tone. "Do you truly believe her over me, Emily? She is no longer the sweet Jade you once knew—she is a bloodthirsty Devil Goddess now! She is lying to tear us apart!"
"Liars!" Jade roared, her Farina aura flaring wildly. "You are the only liar here!"
Emily pressed her trembling hands against Ryan's chest, her tear-stained face filled with a terrifying, ultimate confrontation. "Tell me the truth, Ryan!" she screamed, her voice echoing across the silent plain. "If you ever truly loved me... say the truth right now!"
Ryan paused for a single, heavy second. Looking at Emily's desperate, broken face, the last lingering thread of his humanity snapped. A cold, cynical smirk touched his lips.
"Yes," Ryan admitted softly, his tone devoid of remorse. "I did it all. So what?"
The world seemed to stop moving for Emily. Her heart shattered into dust as the terrifying reality of his cruel confession washed over her. She slumped back slightly, staring at the man she had loved with an absolute, tragic despair.
"You monster..." Jade hissed. Raising her sword once more, she aimed the point straight for Ryan's throat. "It ends now!"
"No, Jade!" Emily cried out again, throwing her pale arm across Ryan's chest to block the blade.
Jade froze, completely stunned, her eyes wide with deep confusion. "Still...? You are still protecting him after he shattered your heart?!"
Hot tears rained down Emily's cheeks as she looked up at Jade, her voice shaking with an unyielding, maternal devotion. "Not because he is my husband, Jade!" Emily wept, every word laced with a mother's profound, high-stakes sacrifice. "He broke my heart! He lied to my face and destroyed my love... But... but my sons need a father!"
Ryan froze beneath her. A sudden, piercing pang of genuine guilt shot through his dark soul as he stared at his wife. He had given her nothing but dark secrets and pain, yet here she lay, shielding his life with her own body for the sake of their children.
Jade scoffed in agonizing, emotional pain, her chest heaving as she pressed a hand over her own broken heart. "Your sons need a father...?! What about me?! Did my innocent baby daughter not deserve a mother's love too?! Why did he rip her from my arms?!"
Emily closed her eyes, tears spilling continuously over her lashes as she spoke out the most devastating, unanswerable plea.
"Jade..." Emily whispered, her voice carrying the crushing weight of a tragic romance novel. "...do you truly want my innocent sons to grow up... without the warmth of a father's love? Don't you already know how terrifyingly painful that void is? Why... why are you forcing that exact same agony onto my four-year-old boys?"
A short distance away, standing beside Queen Lia, the twin four-year-old boys were sobbing hysterically, their tiny hands clinging tightly to Lia's silk skirts as Lia wept silently alongside them.
Jade stood completely frozen in the wind.
Her sword hand began to tremble violently as Emily's raw, agonizing words pierced straight through her cold, devil armor. Jade looked from Emily's broken face to the two weeping little boys in the distance. She knew that pain. She had lived her entire life in the shadows of a missing family, her heart hollowed out by the loss of her own newborn child.
The heavy silence of the battlefield hung suspended, as the Devil Goddess faced the ultimate, tragic choice between the blood of vengeance and the mercy of a mother's heart.
