After they cleared the goblins, they took a couple of days to hunt on the way back to the dwarven town. The wanted to be stocked up on meat and healing herbs. When they returned to the village, they set up the cottage again and Orion went to the town hall and received the reward for the quest. Then they headed back to the cottage and spared. With their swords for several hours and after Sherly read another chapter of the magic book. Did her meditations and then copied it in her journal. Sherly asked questions on each chapter and the songs, she found out that the song sung at her oath ceremony is the song of truth that actually does 2 things 1st it banishes all shadows in the area of the spell and keeps them out for many days, and 2nd anyone in hearing can't lie for the next 3 hours. She also learned that a part of how the song magic works is the intent that the singer has. If you sing of fire but are thinking of a tub of water you might get a bunch of water instead. Music is a guide on what you want the magic to do. It is not the only factor your intent and thoughts matter a lot. If you don't have the mental discipline and the fortitude then you can mess it up this is why to a sword mage muscle memory is so important. This makes it so they can fight and sing powerful spells at the same time not to mention that seeing someone slaughtering your forces wile singing makes a very scary scene. After a wile Orion was very pushy on how Sherly sung the song of truth, he seemed to be watching her tone as well as her mana he even went so far as to teach her to see both the tones and the mana flow to it. This had Sherly wondering if she messed up on their hunting of the bears and Goblins or if he was just being mean until on Friday 2 priestess and a priest showed up and of course Orion just turned to her and said "teach them how to Sing the Song of Truth. You should have seen the faces of them. Having a demon spawn teaching them the Song of truth you would have thought he had told them they needed to sleep in my bed with me. The fit they threw at my teacher was so funny he asked them to ask their god if I was evil and they did a ritual and many prayers and came back finally saying their god did not tell them that I was evil. Teacher then asked how long have they been with the church and they had different times spans then he asked how many have helped with war victims who decided to have the child after such atrocities that were victims and still had the child because they did not blame the child for the fathers' evils? All 3 of them gasped and said they didn't know and he says never judge a book by its cover. This is still a child of God she just has a bit of a different look. Please remember this it is only an outer cover not who she is. After this the priest started learning the song, Sherly had to correct them and this brought much distress on the priest part and it seemed to bring no end to Orion's mirth. He asked Sherly how it was going and She told him that they argued every time she corrected them and that they couldn't understand the intent of the song and that they did not understand the mana flow, she said it seems like they are still stuck on her having demon features and he reminds her that she can change her form to that of a human and tell him if it's any easier? So, the next day she does. At first, they complained but she found she still had the same problems she thought it might be because they still knew it was her but after a while she realized those who have prejudices will always find fault with others instead of taking the criticism and be open to learning this taught her that her teacher was a lot more than meets the eye because he never even thought to judge her but tried to help her. Then she thought about her self and how she talked to them and how she might be coming off as the demon she looked like instead of showing the same compassion as her teacher. So, she tried a different approach she showed them how to see the music and manna just like her teacher did and then sung it like he did and saw that she had finally perfected the song with her acceptance of the truth. The priest after seeing what she showed and that she was being humbler with them, realized that they were taking out their own issues on her because of their fears. They started to work with her and the change came with a friendship. They got to start singing in unison and it was very powerful. They Surprised her when they asked her to come to their temple and sing the song with them and asked her to do so in her human form so the rest of the dwarfs won't freak out like they did. They even laughed and had a miny party to celebrate their learning the song. A couple of days later Sherly Was in the temple singing with the priest and after they sang it once they sang it as the walked to the four corners of the town actually removing the shadows from the town completely. The town suddenly felt like it shed its darkness there was brightness where before there was gloom. After everything Orion sat down with her and asked What she had learned. And she explained it all. Orion laughed and said I knew you thought I was being mean but you learned everything I wanted you to learn. You see at times its best to train by having you teach. I am so proud of you.
