Chapter 266: Bo Saixi's Arrival, Three God-bestowed Spirit Rings
Suddenly, Qian Xunji sensed a somewhat familiar fluctuation of spirit power, as deep and boundless as the sea, seemingly without end or limit.
Off in the distance, a red spot of light slowly magnified, heading toward Spirit City. She appeared to stand about one meter eighty in height, her entire body draped in a long crimson robe. White hair flowed down her back, and her soft, graceful face looked at most thirty or so. Her beauty derived more from her aura—noble, elegant, and gentle. In her right hand, she held a staff about three meters long, gold in color—like the same gold that had just appeared in the sky. Its entire surface was etched with magical patterns, and the top ended in a triangular, spear-like point. About five inches below the tip gleamed a diamond-shaped golden gemstone.
Based on her looks alone, she was undeniably a rare beauty, but her bearing was incomparable to anyone else.
Sensing that familiar presence, Qian Daoliu instantly appeared in front of the Supreme Pontiff Hall to welcome this old friend—the only person he had ever loved—Bo Saixi.
When the guardian knights before the Supreme Pontiff Hall saw a tall, exceptionally handsome middle-aged man with a tranquil aura, bearing about seven points of resemblance to Qian Xunji, they immediately believed him to be the Supreme Pontiff. They dropped to one knee.
"Greetings, Your Holiness."
Qian Daoliu gave no particular reaction—after all, he really was the previous Supreme Pontiff. He waved a hand for the guards to withdraw.
At that moment, Qian Xunji took out the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud that had been stored in his soul tool and kicked it tens of thousands of meters away, accurately sending it into a certain soul beast forest outside Spirit City. After all, he wasn't sure if a single storage-type soul tool could conceal the Heart of the Sea God from Bo Saixi.
As for Ah Yin, who had both the Yearning Heartbroken Red and cultivation at a mature stage, Qian Daoliu took a quick look from up close. Just like before, he could see through her true form, yet now that she was already at rank 96 Super Douluo, he couldn't entirely perceive the depths anymore.
"Bo Saixi, long time no see. Why have you come to Spirit Hall?" Qian Daoliu asked.
Bo Saixi soon arrived in Spirit City, made her way up the Supreme Pontiff Mountain to Spirit Hall, and upon seeing Qian Daoliu outside the Supreme Pontiff Hall, her face broke into a friendly smile of an old acquaintance. "It's been a while, Qian Daoliu. I came to Spirit Hall to speak with your son about a certain matter."
"Senior Bo Saixi, welcome to Spirit Hall," came a voice from inside. The doors of the Supreme Pontiff Hall opened, and Qian Xunji emerged, saluting her as a junior would.
Noticing that Qian Xunji's aura rivaled her own, and that he possessed a god-level worshiper's divine power, Bo Saixi felt some regret for him. The last time they met on Sea God Island, Qian Xunji had looked around seventy years old. Through sheer effort, he'd already reached rank 97. Continuing on, it wasn't impossible for him to attain rank 98. Perhaps, like Tang Chen training alone to reach rank 99, Qian Xunji too might have had a chance to become a god.
Inside the Supreme Pontiff Hall.
Bo Saixi did not broach the subject of any trade at once; instead, she inquired about Bibi Dong.
"Qian Xunji, Hai Wang and Hai Ma have already told me what happened, but I still wish to ask again: Did Little Bibi Dong truly do those things?"
Bo Saixi indeed pitied Bibi Dong's experiences. However, if Bibi Dong's resentment ran so deep that she recognized no ties whatsoever, Bo Saixi would never offer her a sacrifice in the future, nor let her inherit the Sea God's divinity—only to harm Sea God Island or the countless worshipers of the Sea God in the ocean.
Qian Xunji sighed. "Senior Bo Saixi, we need to judge based on the facts. I can't reproduce evidence of Bibi Dong killing Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Spear Douluo. But she has now destroyed the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan."
Bo Saixi was puzzled. "Among the continent's top seven clans, why would Bibi Dong destroy the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan? Did she have a grudge against them too? I recall you once told me the man Bibi Dong loved was a disciple of that clan."
Qian Xunji shook his head with a bitter smile. "I can't figure it out either. Bibi Dong not only leveled the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan but even wiped them out completely—yet she spared Liu Erlong. She somehow coerced or convinced Liu Erlong to pin the blame on Spirit Hall for annihilating the clan, leaving us with no way to clear our name, publicly reviled across the entire continent. All aspects of Spirit Hall have taken a huge hit."
"The continent's situation has become extremely unstable. All major sects are rallying their strength, wary of Spirit Hall—especially the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and the Clear Sky Clan."
In the past, Bo Saixi might have taken Qian Xunji's words with a grain of salt, since Bibi Dong had loved that Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon disciple and suffered her tragic ordeal because of him. For her to commit genocide against them, no explanation would sound convincing. Yet Bibi Dong's murder of Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Spear Douluo, already a fact, barely made sense either, which lent some plausibility to her otherwise incomprehensible behavior.
"I suspect it won't be long before Bibi Dong strikes at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. When that happens, Senior Bo Saixi, you can see for yourself whether my words are true or not. My Six-Winged Angel Spirit is extremely sensitive to the aura of Bibi Dong's Rakshasa God Spirit. Once she unleashes it in earnest, I'll sense it right away."
Bo Saixi mulled it over, then nodded. It seemed she would be staying in Spirit Hall for some time. Given how important the Sea God's inheritor was—and how many millions upon millions of people in the sea looked to the Sea God—she could not afford the slightest oversight.
Bo Saixi turned her palm over. Three blue-gold spheres appeared in her fair, slender palm, each surrounded by a vague blue-gold energy.
"These are three God-bestowed Spirit Rings. Give me the spirit bones belonging to Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Spear Douluo. As for the three trials I promised to offer Spirit Hall on behalf of Lord Sea God, I'll nullify them now."
Seeing how easily Bo Saixi produced three God-bestowed Spirit Rings, Qian Xunji couldn't help but admire the Sea God's magnanimity. He flipped his own hand, taking out the four ten-thousand-year spirit bones of Sea Dragon Douluo and Sea Spear Douluo and handing them over to Bo Saixi.
Afterward, Bo Saixi stayed in Spirit Hall. From time to time, she investigated information related to Bibi Dong, learning that Bibi Dong loved someone called Yu Xiaogang, a lifelong rank 29 Spirit Grandmaster, a man who built his reputation on hollow bluster.
Yu Xiaogang had nearly ruined Tang Chen's great-grandson—Tang San, the genius with twin spirits—leaving Tang San and the entire Clear Sky Clan humiliated. For Bibi Dong to go crazy over such a man stunned Bo Saixi beyond words.
She adored Tang Chen. Yu Xiaogang had all but destroyed Tang Chen's great-grandson, dragging down not just Tang San but the entire Clear Sky Clan. That Bibi Dong would love such a person left Bo Saixi's impression of her plummeting.
Qian Daoliu was elated at Bo Saixi's presence in Spirit Hall—his spirits soared, and he seemed fifty years younger as he kept trying to find opportunities to talk with her. But she only ever responded politely, leaving him silently pained.
