Chapter 14 - chapter 14The Spy's Choice: Jasmine and Dmitry

Jasmine, who was sitting on Dmitry's stomach, felt her smile completely vanish. Her fear and disgust surged again upon hearing Dmitry's words. To her, this game was no longer about taking a risk for her lover—it was an intrusion and a betrayal of her private life.

"I won't go to Korea," Jasmine said forcefully. Her blue eyes held firm resolve. "I will not participate in any more games. You and Ji-Han, you both have used me. Alia is trying to do the same."

She tried to get off the bed, but Dmitry held her down firmly.

"Listen to me, my Sorceress," Dmitry said. "This is necessary for the final game."

Jasmine burst into rage. "It's not the final game! It's my life! And I know what you're planning. Alia will use my modelling fame. And I also know that Victor's wife, Alia, is going to use your sister as a model to frame me!"

Dmitry was stunned. The smile disappeared from his face. How did Jasmine know this secret information?

Jasmine stared into his eyes. "Yes, Dmitry. I know. I know your secret weakness. Alia wants to use your sister, Elina, in my place to infiltrate the mafia network. Elina looks like me, doesn't she? That's why Elina will be made a model, so everyone thinks it's Jasmine working with the mafias. And I will be used to keep an eye on Ji-Han—so that I end up ruined on both fronts."

There was intense pain in Jasmine's voice.

"I won't be part of this anymore," Jasmine said. She freed herself from his grip and moved to the other side of the bed.

"My love for you might be real, Dmitry. But I will not participate in this disgusting game. I can't lie anymore, or take risks. I refuse to be a puppet in anyone's game—Ji-Han's, Alia's, or yours."

Jasmine looked at Dmitry with determination.

"We separate here. This chapter ends now. Please, allow me to close this chapter here."

Dmitry remained silent for a while. Jasmine's courage and her emotional rejection defeated him for the first time. He could not force her.

Dmitry conceded. "Alright, Jasmine," he said slowly. There was deep disappointment in his eyes. "If that is what you want… then so be it."

Dmitry got out of bed. With his tall, blonde hair and regal posture, he stood in the middle of the room.

"I set you free. But remember, my Sorceress—the key to my heart will remain with you. You might want to end the game, but fate might not be ready yet."

Dmitry did not speak another word. He slowly opened the door and walked out. Just as his presence was dramatic, his exit was silent and final.

Jasmine was left alone in the luxurious room. Moonlight outside, a silent peace within—which might not last long.

The Final Kiss

Dmitry opened the door and left. Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief, yet a fierce storm still raged in her heart. She thought she was finally free from this dangerous game.

Jasmine still sat motionless on one side of the bed, trying to calm herself. The silence that had fallen after Dmitry's departure was terrifying.

But that silence was shattered in an instant.

The room door burst open again. Dmitry had returned. His long blonde hair was dishevelled, and his blue eyes held a mad intensity.

Before Jasmine could react in surprise, Dmitry leapt towards her with lightning speed.

Without giving Jasmine a chance to speak, he held her face firmly in his hands and fiercely kissed her (Lip Kiss).

The kiss was brief, but deep. It held the sorrow of farewell, the claim of love, and an indomitable promise. It was as if this kiss was his final message—he was not leaving Jasmine, merely stepping away temporarily.

As soon as the kiss ended, Dmitry pulled himself away in a rush. The same madness was still in his eyes.

Dmitry did not speak. No explanation. He just quickly opened the door and left again, as if nothing had happened. This time, his departure was final.

Jasmine remained stunned. The lingering heat of Dmitry's kiss and his madness still burned on her lips.

She touched her lips with her hand. Her eyes were still wide with surprise.

"Is he crazy?" the word slipped out of Jasmine's mouth in a whisper.

Jasmine knew Dmitry was gone. But that final kiss made it clear—even if she wanted to close this chapter herself, Dmitry would not allow it. He might not force Jasmine to go to Korea, but he would exert his influence on her life, even from afar.

The New Resolve

After Dmitry's dramatic exit, Jasmine sat on the bed motionless for a long time. The lingering sensation of the kiss on her lips pushed her toward a mix of feelings—anger, attraction, and intense confusion. Rather than enduring the silence, she decided to prepare herself.

The next morning, Jasmine entered her luxurious bathroom. The bathroom was made of marble, with a huge tub in the centre.

The Head Maid, named Ana, was ready to bathe Jasmine. Ana carefully mixed fragrant milk and rose petals into the warm water of the tub.

Jasmine slowly lowered herself into the tub. The water reached up to her white hair. Ana gently began cleaning her hair with shampoo. Jasmine's eyes were closed; she seemed to be trying to free herself from the memory of Dmitry's frantic love.

Just then, four more young maids entered the bathroom, laughing. They were dressed in clean uniforms, and their eyes were filled with curiosity.

They gathered around the tub. Ana, busy tending to Jasmine, looked up and smiled softly.

The first maid whispered, "The Queen looks even more beautiful today. We heard... the Queen stayed awake all night."

The second maid laughed and said, "We were wondering, how is Brother Dmitry? Will he go abroad again now?"

The maids looked at each other and laughed. There was a suppressed excitement in their laughter. They were amused by knowing the secret news of the mafia boss's personal life and his lover.

Jasmine opened her eyes. This unexpected curiosity from the maids slightly irritated her, but she knew she had no private life here. She was now just a model-Queen, whose life was in the hands of the mafias.

Ana gently chided them, "Focus on your work! The Queen needs rest."

The third maid, with a bit more courage, stepped closer to Jasmine and said, "No, Queen. We have no work. We just wanted to bring you a little joy."

The fourth maid praised Jasmine, saying, "Your white hair... honestly, we never thought a person could be so beautiful."

The maids continued to talk and laugh like this. Jasmine understood that they might have been sent by Alia-Victor to monitor her, or were merely curious. However, their laughter and presence sparked a new thought in Jasmine's mind.

She shook the water from her white hair and sat up.

"Are you laughing?" Jasmine asked in a calm voice. "Do you think this game is over?"

The maids fell silent. There were no tears in Jasmine's eyes now, only a new resolve.

"Alia told me to go to Korea," Jasmine said. Her voice was firm. "Go and tell Dmitry—I am going. But this will not be Alia's game, this will be my game."

The Cold Deal

After Jasmine's unexpected declaration, the maids looked at each other in surprise. Ana (the Head Maid) quickly composed herself. She understood that Jasmine was not going against his wishes, but was acting as Dmitry had instructed.

Ana leaned in and whispered something into Jasmine's ear so the other maids would not hear.

"Queen, Madam Alia asked me to deliver a message," Ana said. "She said—'She will not bother you, and hopes you will not bother her.'"

Ana carefully watched Jasmine's reaction. Alia's message was a cold contract. Even after sending Jasmine on her personal mission to Korea, Alia wanted to avoid a direct conflict with her. This meant Alia was working for the security of the ancient clan, and was not concerned with Jasmine's personal revenge or her weakness for Ji-Han.

Jasmine stood up from the tub. Ana quickly wrapped a soft towel around her.

Upon hearing Alia's message, a calm, calculated expression returned to Jasmine's face. She smiled—this was the smile of the model-Queen who knew when to face the camera.

"Alright," Jasmine said. Her voice was clear and firm. "If she wants that deal, she will get it."

Jasmine shook her white hair.

"We are keeping this chapter closed."

The meaning of this deal: Jasmine would now go to Korea. Her sole goal there would be to find weaknesses in the Victor-Alia network through Ji-Han. But as long as Alia did not directly harm her, Jasmine would not try to infiltrate the depths of the mafia network either.

This peace was fragile. Jasmine knew that she was stepping onto Korean soil with her modelling fame, and she would soon have to work for both her former lover, Ji-Han, and her current owner, Dmitry.

The New Identity

As Jasmine was leaving the bathroom, having accepted Alia's deal, the maids prepared to dress her. After drying the water from her body and applying perfume, she was dressed in a specially made silk outfit.

One of the four maids present, perhaps the most curious, bravely asked the question.

"Queen," the maid whispered. "Are you married? At the cathedral…"

The maid could not finish the sentence because Ana was about to reprimand her. But Jasmine raised her hand, signalling Ana to be quiet.

Jasmine's face was composed, cold. There was no hesitation in her blue eyes. That kiss and embrace with Dmitry—which Ji-Han would see as a betrayal—was for Jasmine a form of ultimate bond.

Jasmine looked directly at the maid.

"Yes, I am," Jasmine answered simply.

The maid felt relieved, as if a big question in her mind had been answered. But Jasmine's answer was a recognition of a harsh truth within herself. Although they were not legally married, that emotional surrender to Dmitry was a marriage to her.

Jasmine now accepted herself as Dmitry's wife. And with this new identity, she would set off for Korea, where her former lover, Ji-Han, still believed they were not married. Standing on this misunderstanding, Jasmine's new and more dangerous game would begin.

The Painful Truth

When Jasmine acknowledged herself as Dmitry's wife, the maid gained some courage. She slowly approached Jasmine, her eyes now showing deep concern rather than curiosity.

"Queen," the maid said in a low voice, keeping a distance from the other maids. "Boss Dmitry… he is not really good."

Jasmine's steady gaze slightly shifted. "What do you mean?"

Tears welled up in the maid's eyes. She hesitated and said, "His dealings with girls... he has them. I have seen it many times. Many girls used to come to his room... I am ashamed to say it."

Jasmine now looked at her with complete attention. Her white hair was spread across her back. "What did you see?"

The maid said in a trembling voice, "I... I saw many spending the night with him. It's... it's what everyone does. Everyone in this house knows it. It's normal in our mafia society... but for a good person like you... I am afraid to say. Boss... he is..."

The maid broke into tears. Her fear was evident—she was revealing the dark side of a mafia boss to his lover. "I am ashamed to say it. With a good person like you... he... he is like that."

All of Jasmine's resolve seemed to crumble in an instant. She quickly sat down on the bed.

Dmitry's frantic love, that dramatic kiss—under the cover of it all, his old, ruthless mafia boss character was hidden. Jasmine had forgotten that she was a spy who was fully aware of Dmitry's past and his habits. But because of her emotions, she had ignored that harsh truth.

The maid's words were the blow of a cruel truth. Jasmine took all the risks for Dmitry, rejected Ji-Han, but Dmitry? Was he really with another woman before returning to her that night?

There was no longer anger in Jasmine's blue eyes, but intense pain. She cursed herself—once again, she lost to her emotions. The maid was still crying, sitting on the floor beside Jasmine and whispering the words. Jasmine sat still as a stone, watching her model-perfect smile and tough defence crumble.

"Dmitry... he... he doesn't just spend the night with other girls, Queen," the maid said in a trembling voice. "I saw... he has a special room. There are many... many things kept there. Things that if you see…"

The maid couldn't finish her sentence out of fear, her face turning pale. She looked helplessly at Jasmine.

"What did you see?" Jasmine's voice was cold, hushed. This time, the spy's sharpness returned to her eyes—not her own pain, she only wanted information now.

The maid tremblingly touched her throat. "They... they were always with girls who looked... just like you. White hair, blue eyes like yours. As if he always wanted someone just like you by his side when you were away."

Jasmine got goosebumps upon hearing the words!

Dmitry was not just a betrayer, he was obsessed with her. He used other women in her image—out of a frantic sense of ownership and adoration. To Dmitry, Jasmine was not a person of flesh and blood, but a beloved doll or a personal symbol.

Before the maid could finish her sentence, the Head Maid Ana (who had been silent until then) quickly rushed forward. Ana's face was stern, her eyes fearful.

"Go now! Get out of here immediately!" Ana sharply scolded the maid.

Ana quickly pulled the maid and pushed her out of the room. Ana closed the door and swiftly turned back to Jasmine.

Ana leaned close, almost at Jasmine's feet. "Queen, I am sorry. They are outsiders, they know nothing. Please don't listen to their words. Boss Dmitry... he loves you the most."

But Jasmine was still motionless, the sensation of that horrifying information still lingering in her body. Jasmine said nothing. She knew that what Ana was saying was a lie—Dmitry's madness was the real truth.

Jasmine stood up. Her white hair swayed in the air with electric speed. There was no emotion left in her eyes for Dmitry now—only extreme resolve.

"Ana," Jasmine said. "Prepare my ticket for Korea. Tonight. Finalise my modelling agenda. I want no delay."

Dmitry's betrayal severed the last bond in Jasmine's heart. Neither love for Ji-Han nor attraction to Dmitry mattered now. Her only purpose: revenge and achieving her own freedom.

Jasmine would now go to Korea, not according to Alia's plan, but with her own master plan.
