The moment I saw Declan in Avira's bedroom, which was a pure indication that he did not sound the summon bell, I knew something was up.
The initial anger I felt from seeing both Declan and Avira in bed gave way suddenly for dread at the thought that it was my father who had sounded the summon bell.
The thought that he might have found out what I did clawed at my chest, and made me dizzy so that when Avira excused herself from attending the meeting, I agreed to it before I let the words sink in.
I left for the throne room immediately, concealing my fear in a hardened expression. Anyone would think I was angry instead of being scared, and I liked it.
I walked ahead of Declan. I could not risk him seeing through me, and finding out about my fear.
The throne room was packed full with pack members, while our father sat on the throne that used to be his, before he was stripped.
