The words dropped like a bomb. The paper crushed into Zane's as a dull ache pulsed through his chest.
"Pregnant?" The word echoed in silence as confusion twisted his face over again. "How could she be pregnant? Didn't she take the pills?"
His thoughts fumbled for another possibility that the child might not be his.
His hands curled into fists, veins bulging as the memory surged.
That night. The heat. The loss of control.
