Chapter 135 - The Starstruck Idol

Behind the gorgeous stage, in the dressing room along the busy corridor filled with staff...

Miku Izayoi sat in front of the vanity. Her beautiful purple hair was as dazzling as blooming violets. On her exquisite, lovely face, her silver-white eyes now sparkled with anticipation.

Given Miku's looks, a makeup artist was almost unnecessary, because even without makeup, Miku was already perfect.

So, the makeup artist's role here was to accessorize Miku's outfit.

In her stunning, violet-like hair, a few exquisite flower-shaped ornaments were carefully placed, adding a touch of charm. Around her fair, delicate neck, she wore a string of pure white lily decorations, emitting a fresh fragrance that highlighted her beauty and purity.

However, Miku didn't spend much time admiring her beautiful reflection in the mirror.

Her gaze was entirely fixed on the phone in her hand.

Ding!

A crisp notification sound from her phone made Miku tense up instantly.

When the girl caught sight of the sender's name on the lock screen, her beautiful eyes immediately lit up with excitement and joy.

Just as a happy smile touched her lips and she prepared to unlock the screen, she found the phone unresponsive to her touch.

The girl anxiously swiped her finger across the screen repeatedly, but the lock screen remained stubbornly unchanged and unresponsive.

"Ah! Seriously!"

"My phone's acting up now?!"

Just as Miku was complaining in frustration, her manager and makeup artist beside her couldn't help but look awkward.

"Miku, how can you operate your phone with those gloves on?"

The somewhat older woman pushed up her glasses and uttered a somewhat exasperated remark.

She was Miku's manager and makeup artist, Midori, and had been taking care of Miku for quite some time.

She had never seen Miku so flustered before, to the point of forgetting she couldn't use a touchscreen with gloves on.

"Huh?"

"Oh, right! I forgot, ehehe~~~"

Miku suddenly realized and aimed a cute, pleading look at her manager.

"Thanks for reminding me, Midori-san."

"No problem, Miku."

The manager shook her head, thinking to herself that a girl in love really could lose her common sense.

Reminded, Miku slowly used her left hand to gently pull off the pure white, lace-edged long glove on her right hand.

Then, she eagerly unlocked her phone screen to check the message.

Beside her, the manager pretended not to see, though she already knew that the contact saved as 'Darling' was Miku's love interest.

Generally speaking, for an idol singer in the industry, falling in love was something to be avoided. Because it could easily cause losses for the company, causing a hugely popular idol's popularity to plummet.

As Miku's manager, her job requirements meant she should have prohibited Miku from doing this.

However, the person Miku was in love with happened to be the company's major shareholder, leaving her unsure of what to do.

Should she stop it or allow it? Both options were difficult.

Faced with this dilemma, she ultimately chose to do nothing.

Simply ignore it and pretend she didn't see, that was her solution.

As for Miku's career and the company's interests, that was beyond her consideration.

Because the two people involved didn't seem to care, why should she, a mere employee, worry? As long as she got her paycheck, it was fine.

Miku's attention, meanwhile, was completely captured by the message on her phone.

Seeing Yuki's message saying he had arrived at the venue and including his seat location... filled the girl's heart with immense excitement.

After waiting for so long, this day had finally come.

It felt to Miku like parting the clouds to see the sun.

At this moment, she wished she could immediately dash onto the stage to meet this man she had never seen in person but had long adored.

Miku quickly typed a reply, expressing how excited she was to finally see Yuki.

Seeing Miku's reply, Yuki couldn't help but smile slightly.

He replied with a joke: Aren't you afraid I might turn out to be ugly when you see me?

However, Miku quickly sent back a shaking-head emoji.

[Even if Darling is ugly, Miku will still love you! Darling is Darling! The person Miku loves most in her life!]

Seeing Miku's deeply affectionate message warmed Yuki's heart.

He replied with a smiley face, said he was looking forward to her performance, and then put away his phone.

The fellow spectator sitting next to Yuki, who had explained things earlier, noticed Yuki on his phone and teased him.

"Texting your girlfriend?"

"Haha, if she finds out you're here at Miku's concert, you'll probably be kneeling on a washboard when you get home, right?"

Hearing this, Yuki gave a calm smile.

"Girlfriend... well, actually, it's a level above that," Yuki said nonchalantly.

"Oh! So, she's your wife then?"

"Married so young! That's quite surprising!"

Hearing Yuki's words, the spectator's expression showed some astonishment.

But then he looked at Yuki with a hint of sympathy.

"I get it! The wife at home is strict. Coming out to chase an idol, especially a beautiful songstress like this, must be even stricter!"

"I understand, man!"

The spectator, feeling moved by his own assumptions, offered Yuki a bunch of sympathetic words, as if viewing him as a poor soul under his wife's thumb who had finally managed to sneak out.

Yuki, hearing this, was speechless.

But he didn't explain anything. After all, if he said the person he was just chatting with was the national idol songstress about to take the stage... the other guy would definitely not believe him and would probably think Yuki was delusional.

Ten minutes later.

As the entry doors closed, the lights in the entire venue instantly dimmed, leaving only a single spotlight on the stage.

The venue fell into complete silence. Everyone wore expressions of excitement, holding their breath in anticipation.

With the sound of a beautiful, crystal-clear voice resounding throughout the arena, a graceful figure slowly rose onto the stage.

Miku Izayoi, dressed in a pure white, magnificent performance gown, ascended onto the stage at that moment like a rising star.

Following closely, colorful stage lights instantly illuminated the platform.

A sweet smile appeared on Miku's face as she energetically bounced around the stage alongside a group of backup dancers, singing a cheerful song with her beautiful voice.

The fans below waved their glow sticks wildly, singing along with Miku, keeping time with the beat and melody.

On stage, Miku moved back and forth, constantly waving to the audience.

When she reached the area where Yuki was seated, the girl immediately locked onto his position.

The moment Miku's gaze met Yuki's, her movements noticeably faltered, and her expression became momentarily stunned.

So handsome! Is... is that him? Is that Darling?!

He's so incredibly handsome!!!

The girl felt her heart instantly begin to race, and a blush involuntarily spread across her cheeks.

Because of this brief daze, the girl's singing paused for a moment.

This left the fans below a bit confused.

Fortunately, Miku was still fairly composed. She quickly snapped back to reality, hurriedly catching up with the rhythm and continuing to sing.

Seeing Miku's reaction upon spotting him, Yuki couldn't help but chuckle quietly to himself.

He had thought she might be stunned for a few more seconds, but he hadn't expected her to regain her composure so quickly.
