Il Ji looked up from his holo. While Sebastian was busy looking at Minata's vast array of her works- was there something there? Il Ji had been writing up a list of beasts to send the 'High Council.'
In order to work on his Primordial Project, he didn't need that much. But he needed to seal away the visibility of his abilities, pronto.
Casting waves in society is a good thing, but too many waves? Not so much.
Il Ji turned towards his friends. As he saw a near perfect, wholesome camraderie envelope his sister, Sebastian, Maya, and Minata, he felt pride and pleasure.
Considering a few different key points, he labelled the most beneficial clauses for their new paths in life and a few different spots that were more malleable.
Applying them to his format, he made a list of the beasts and materials he needed, alongside those that he did not.
He made two separate lists- beasts he needed for himself, beasts he needed for others, and beasts he needed for his ability. Out of the three, a portion of the first and the third he forwarded under the [Primordial Project] banner; the rest of those he bought. He was rich now, so he might as well use his money well.
As for those he put underneath his project, they were all research beasts already- he could return them when he was done.
The beasts he needed for his friends were excluded. Instead, a preliminary list was forwarded to their new masters, along with a note, reading: "This is a preliminary plan. I've yet to discuss this with my friends. Please send this back to me alongside a notation if there is a difference in your thoughts for them. I plan to discuss it with them over the next week."
When he was done, he looked up at his friends. They were playing a game of 'Hot Egg' with one of Minata's tools. Shaking his head, he joined in on the fun until, with much ado, he caught the egg as it 'exploded.'
He was out. As the game wrapped up to a tidy end, he asked Sebastian, "What's the schedule for tonight?"
"We're throwing a pool party at Six, where supper will be provided. Afterwards, we'll be playing lasertag at Eight, and crashing in the
constellar garden at Ten PM. Of course, I put spins on all of them. I've invited several of my higher level employees, as well as some people from the nearby college."
"We're sure to have some people goofing off, but it should be tame enough for Maya and Laila. By the way, Il Ji, what's your favorite style of soda?"
"Birch Beer."
"Alright! I'll grab some of the best- Lan Boy's Creamy Red Birch Beer, and send it your way. Minata, Laila, what about you guys?"
"I want Prissy Red Fruit Juice!" Laila exclaimed.
Sebastian let out a subtle laugh. In return, the little girl gave him a flat stare.
"…So Lan Boy's Creamy Red, Prissy Red, and… Minata?"
Minata looked at her fingers, before letting out a low, exquisite rich girl drawl. "I'll take Mouran's Maroon, if you have it."
She eyed the wide-eyed Sebastian.
"Ye-yeah, I can get some. It'll be worth a bit, but it's only a minor setback."
She fluttered her eyes, kicked her leg out, and looked back at her hand. "That'll do, Fly Boy, that'll do."
Sebastian gaped.
"Maya, Laila, want to go to the Puzzle shop?" Il Ji asked.
"Oooooh, yes, yes! Laila told me all about it!" Maya shouted.
"Mmm, I have a-"
"Shhhh." Minata put her finger on Sebastian's lips. She nodded her head at Il Ji, telling him to go.
"Alright, girls, let's go!"
"Next up, PUZZLES!"
"YEAAAAHH!"
"Let's go!"
The three walked over to the shop.
As they arrived, Mr. Addlesby was at the window. Noticing them, he waved a before shuffling over to the door.
Il Ji opened the door, and the three stepped in. Laila gave the old man a big hug that lasted several seconds, and Maya began to look around.
Behind them, the doorbell rang again. Il Ji found himself pulled aside as Sebastian grabbed him by the arm.
"Il Ji, we need to talk."
