Chapter 39 - 38 A Week’s Time

Sebastian looked at the two eggs below him. The eggs let off low vibrations as the butterflies inside them grew.

"These two beasts are meant for team players who cooperate well with each other, or to be led in combat by the same beast tamer." Il Ji intoned.

"The blue egg belongs to the [Glacial Palace Butterfly]. The red egg, to the [Inferno Palace Butterfly]. Together, they can create a domain of Fire and Ice that can surround the entire arena."

"Luckily, they won't be the only team members on the roster. As such, they won't need to hold such powerful abilities for very long at all."

Sebastian gasped again before pulling up his holo device. With just a few taps, he sent over the funds.

"I'm glad to accept this deal, but I can't help feeling that I just got swindled."

Il Ji simply smiled. "I'll reach out to my contact and let you know once I hear more."

Leaving the room, he began walking back towards the training room. On the way, he began to type on his holo. "Hey Adele, I recently came into a small fortune. I've been wanting to turn the Lucky Beast Supply Shop into a specialized beast shop for a while now."

"Would you be willing to sell me the wardrobe? I've recently begun a strong relationship with an [Archaic]-tier researcher. I'm sure he'd help me look at it deeper if I asked him. Thoughts?"

As he continued to the room, he waited for a reply- but none came. Steeling himself, he began his daily routine. By the end, he had 34 of 38 possible skills he needed.

Rolling over, he checked his holo. Scrolling down, he read the reply. "Hey Il Ji, sorry to reply back so late. I've actually been shopping around about this, and the highest offer I've had is 300,000. Since we didn't even catch any [Gold]-level Butterflies, it doesn't seem to interest many buyers."

"Initially, I didn't want to sell it, but something big came up. I'd like at least 500,000 Federal Coins for it. If you can get me the coins by tomorrow, it's yours."

Il Ji quickly replied back. "Adele, I've transferred the money to your account. I'll send a driver tomorrow to pick it up."

His needs satisfied, Il Ji notified the servants of the next day's pickup and went to bed.

The wardrobe arrived in perfect condition, but he refused to open it- yet. Throughout the rest of the week, he managed his way through most of the skills. The skills he needed from the beasts were all attained, including the doubles he needed to convert to higher ranks before re-mimicking.

Jackpot had finished his cultivation- after boatloads of coins, he was once again at the top of his rank, and Il Ji's cultivation once again shot further.

As for the two butterflies, they were each near the sixth subrank of [Copper].

Il Ji's second star was growing as well. With Duvwun's cultivation feedback joining his own, he was near the top of the seventh subrank of [Copper].

As for the ants, he only had three skills left to manage.

As for Laila, she had successfully avoided the lure of the mansion and completed her homework- all of it- and received an A from her teacher.

Rolling his shoulders, Il Ji walked over to the door and made his way to the bedroom.

The next morning, he rolled up and over. Today was Sunday, the big day. The girls had expanded the pillow fort last night. As the result, they were sleeping in.

Moseying on down to the kitchens, he piled his plate and took a seat. Soon after, Sebastian followed.

"Il Ji. What's today look like for you?"

"I'm busy for the next hour and a half. Afterwards, I'll need at least an [Emerald] level healer and the [Satisfy] skill."

"Done."

"Once that's complete, I'll needan hour or so to read through several textbooks… After that, well… party?"

Sebastian slapped his shoulder. "Finally!"

The two parted on good terms. Il Ji returned to his room and shuffled through all three copies. Thankfully, he had saved the best for last. They didn't have any skills other than the ones he needed.

As a result, he blazed through the copying and was finished within the prescribed hour and a half.
