Watching Liam act up made Emma frown. Although from her previous life she already understood how Daniel will be treated once he came here, that did nothing to alleviate the suffocation in her chest.
Daniel shouldn't have to deal with this humiliation.
Emma stood up and made her way over to Liam. Before Liam could continue with his mocking comment, she raised her leg and kicked on his knee harshly. As he knelt down from the impact, the surroundings quietened down for a second.
"You! Bitch!" Liam glowered at her and cursed, "Fucking cunt! I will—"
But before he could carry on further, Daniel slapped him on his head, catching everyone off guard.
Emma stared at him with widened eyes, not expecting him to take any action. Daniel stepped closer to her and lowered his head, meeting her at eye level.
He then slowly said, "We are even now."
Emma blinked her eyes in confusion.
