Derek Brooke said in a light tone: "If you have to choose between me and men, you should definitely choose me. After all, we share blood, and they don't. It's natural for them to abandon you, but if I did, it would be heartless. So, choosing me means not worrying about someone to take care of you, but choosing a man means worrying he'll kick you out once he finds someone else. Right?"
Derek Brooke's serious demeanor amused Lydia Brooke. Just seeing her cherished heart, her mood brightened.
When Beau Haston returned, mother and son tacitly avoided the earlier topic.
The meal was joyful, and after they finished, Lydia Brooke waved to the waiter to get the bill. The waiter smiled and said to Lydia Brooke, "Miss, your boyfriend has already paid. We look forward to your next visit."
Lydia Brooke's eyes shifted to Beau Haston in surprise, "I said it was my treat, and this is City C, I should host to thank you."
