The room was dark enough that none of them could see the others' faces.
Only three silhouettes sat around the table, separated by a faint pool of light in the center.
They didn't trust one another.
They never had.
Normally, a meeting between the three factions would have been enough to spark a fight, but tonight was different.
For the moment, at least, they had a common enemy.
"…Why is the Evans Group suddenly interfering?"
The man sitting on the left broke the silence.
"It seems they've caught wind of the situation."
"Damn it."
A fist slammed against the table.
"How the hell did they find out?"
No one answered.
Until yesterday, the three organizations had been competing fiercely for control of the orphanage—or, more accurately, the valuable land surrounding it.
Each faction had its own reason for wanting the area.
But then the Evans Group had appeared.
And everything had changed.
The Evans Group.
One of the world's five largest corporations.
