Aralyn's POV
I didn't remember falling asleep.
One moment I had been lying in bed staring at the ceiling, replaying everything Serenessa had said to me over and over again, and the next, I was standing somewhere cold and dark. At first, I thought I was awake. The darkness felt real, the cold felt real, and even the way my heart was pounding inside my chest felt real. I stood completely still, my breathing shallow as I looked around. There was nothing around me, no walls, no ceiling, and no floor that I could properly see.
It was just darkness stretching endlessly in every direction. It reminded me immediately of the Nightmare Room. The realization made panic explode inside me because I knew exactly what that place had done to me before, and the last thing I wanted was to find myself trapped there again.
"No," I whispered.
