The older version of Goldie (though his appearance didn't show it) materialized on the field, looking utterly bewildered. Having experienced Duels before, he immediately checked his own status. The card's name and effect left him with an indescribable expression.
"This identity!? Are you making a mockery of This King?! Hurry up and tear this card up!"
Fairy Tristan, however, just flashed a wicked grin. While she was no match for Goldie in terms of raw power, in a Duel, he couldn't defy her will. "Why would I tear it up? From now on, I'll drag you out every single Duel!"
"You... you can't! This King forbids it!"
How could Goldie accept a history where he served as someone else's subordinate? It was a fate more terrifying than facing a hundred Archers—though he had no idea who Archer was.
"Objection overruled! Your opinion is irrelevant!"
Now that he was in Fairy Tristan's hands, Goldie had no say in the matter. "I activate the effect of Finance Minister! By detaching one Xyz Material, I can choose one of the following effects: 1. Draw 1 card and gain 1000 Life Points. 2. Target 1 Servant I control other than Finance Minister; search my Deck for an Equip Spell Card and equip it to that target.
I choose the second effect, targeting myself! I'll equip Original Sharaviel from my Deck to myself!"
"You insolent fool! This King never gave you permission to use my treasures!"
Not only had Gilgamesh lost his dignity, but he couldn't even protect his own treasury. His face was a mask of grief and indignation.
"Allow me to assist you, then."
Aurora spoke up. Though she didn't know the exact effect of the Equip Spell, she couldn't ignore Fairy Tristan's total Attack Power of 4000. If it had some strange effect, she could easily be defeated in a single turn. So, she decided to interrupt the effect's activation.
"You should thank me for this! I activate the Trap Card Repeat Offender! This card copies the effect of a Trap Card in my Graveyard and activates it as a card with the same name! I choose to copy the Continuous Trap Card Malicious Guidance!"
This was likely proof that Aurora's poisoned wine had succeeded twice in a row.
"With the effect of Malicious Guidance, I choose Fairy Knight Lancelot as the Equip Target!"
Aurora didn't target Melusine in her Calamity State because that version of Melusine had an effect that allowed her to Tribute herself, making her an unsuitable target.

Only then did Aurora see the effect of Sharaviel. She breathed a sigh of relief that she had stopped its activation. Otherwise, she would have been helpless against Fairy Tristan's 3000-ATK direct attack.
"How dangerous. Still, I quite like this item. Would you be willing to give it to me?"
"Who is this insect that reeks of rotting corpses?"
Goldie glanced at Aurora with disgust. He actually had a keen eye for judging people—Kirei Kotomine was the prime example. To him, Aurora felt like a piece of rotting fruit, so repulsive that even looking at her made him feel sick.
"The Grand Poisoner. Honestly, I think she's qualified to compete for the title of Grand Assassin after King Hassan retires."
Jiang You explained while simultaneously making a sarcastic comment.
"Oh, right. Because of me, King Hassan hasn't been able to retire yet... He's not going to come after me, is he?"

Goldie couldn't ignore Jiang You's words. He had to admit that Jiang You's strength surpassed his own, so he scrutinized Aurora more carefully.
"I cannot agree. In her current state, even the Hassans would execute her on the spot. No, just looking at her makes This King want to wash his eyes. Let's just call her the Grand Scumbag instead."
"As a human, I must say that when it comes to being heavyweight trash, the fairies still take the cake."
Ignoring the hostile glares from the other fairies, Jiang You dropped his bombshell statement. While it was the truth, this was still the Faerie Realm. Many fairies shot him venomous looks, but Barghest glared back, silencing them with her own gaze.
"You think you've won just like that?"
Fairy Tristan saw that Aurora had exhausted her backrow, leaving her wide open. Now, she could act freely.
"The effect of my Finance Minister doesn't say 'once per turn'! So, with two Xyz Materials left, I can activate it twice more! I activate its effect again! I choose... I choose... Why the hell do you only have one of this damn thing?!"
Fairy Tristan complained loudly. If there had been two copies of Original Sharaviel, she could have activated its effect to burn 1000 Life Points, then attacked directly to win the duel.
"Don't blame your subjects for your own incompetence!" Goldie retorted, equally displeased. "The reason a prototype is called a prototype is because it's one-of-a-kind! This King wouldn't deign to collect mass-produced junk!"
"Tch! Fine! Then I'll choose Proto-Durandal and equip it to myself!"
Fairy Tristan granted herself protection from being destroyed by battle.

Fairy Tristan now had four cards in her hand. The way her deck was running now was far superior to the almost comical way she used to burn through her entire hand in a single turn.
Her opponent's field consisted of one monster with 1800 ATK and another with 3800 ATK. If Fairy Tristan attacked directly, she would inflict 1900 damage. Even with the burn effect, the total would only be 2900—still short of a one-turn kill. It would be better to sacrifice her ability to attack and destroy the entire field instead. That way, Goldie could land a direct attack for 3000 damage.
Fairy Tristan desperately wished she had her Royal Slaughter Theater. If that card were in her hand, the duel would be over this turn. So where can I get the last 1000 damage?
Her gaze shifted to her Extra Deck, where she noticed a few new cards. Her expression transformed from shock to delight, and her eyes locked onto Jiang You.

Jiang You was confused, but he would soon understand exactly what that look meant.

Fairy Tristan raised her hand, and an Xyz vortex swirled above her head.
