"How was I supposed to know that Alice Conley would be so fragile!" Indigo Quigley mumbled.
"How dare you even say that!" Her father, enraged, was about to hit her, but her mother quickly intervened, "Now think harder if there's another way; with all the commotion online, I'm afraid it won't be long before someone really starts investigating our family's business."
Their family's rapid rise to wealth naturally couldn't have been completely clean—bribery, cooking the books, tax evasion... If it all got counted against them, the whole family would be finished.
"Indigo, didn't you say you have a good relationship with the Quinn Family's eldest daughter, Alessia Quinn? Why not ask her for help? If the Quinn Family is willing to intervene, maybe this thing can blow over," her mother suggested.
