Toneri could sense it immediately. Someone was breaking through the space-time barriers he had set, advancing swiftly toward his location. His eyes snapped open, sharp and calculating.
The opponent was using some kind of instantaneous travel technique, almost like teleportation, rapidly closing the distance. The speed of approach was astonishing—he had no time to underestimate this.
"Looks like they're coming," Toneri muttered to himself, turning to glance at the space behind him. Sure enough, in the next instant, a figure materialized out of thin air, hovering effortlessly above the lunar surface.
It was none other than Ōtsutsuki Urashiki.
"I finally found you," Urashiki said with a sly grin. "It took considerable effort, Ōtsutsuki Toneri."
Toneri's gaze was calm and focused. "You must be Ōtsutsuki Urashiki."
Urashiki raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised. "Ah, you actually know who I am?"
Toneri nodded slightly. "I sensed your presence from afar. It could only be you."
Urashiki laughed, his voice echoing across the barren lunar plains. "Toneri, we are of the same clan. There's no need for such formalities. Among the Ōtsutsuki, we are family."
Toneri studied him carefully, his expression unreadable. After a moment, he spoke, "Naruto was telling the truth. Members of the Ōtsutsuki clan have indeed arrived on Earth."
Urashiki smirked, twirling his red Chakra fishing rod in his hand. "Ah, you mean the Nine-Tails? I know of him. He's still on Earth. I've taken this opportunity to speak with you directly."
Toneri's eyes narrowed. "What exactly do you mean?"
Urashiki grinned, his tone sharp and calculating. "I know about your… attachment to the white-eyed woman. But unfortunately, she doesn't fully understand her clan's mission and has allied herself with that 'Nine-Tails' boy. It complicates things."
Toneri's expression hardened. "And that concerns you how?"
Urashiki's grin widened. "Everything is connected. The Ōtsutsuki clan sent me here to… 'clean up' the Earth. If you cooperate with me, I can ensure you are reunited with the white-eyed woman and assist in planting the sacred tree. I can even petition the Ōtsutsuki elders to grant you favor—perhaps even a return to the clan."
Toneri's glare was unwavering. "You've certainly changed since the last life."
Urashiki raised an eyebrow. "Changed? How so?"
Toneri's lips curved into a faint, knowing smirk. "I simply mean that you came here because you fear my strength."
Urashiki chuckled, acknowledging the truth. "You're not wrong. Your current eyes… they can channel the devastating power of the celestial forces behind you. But even so, taking you down would only be a little troublesome for me."
Toneri narrowed his eyes further, resolute. "Oh? Care to try?"
Urashiki sighed dramatically. "Alas, I came all this way hoping to negotiate. After all, we are Ōtsutsuki—family, of sorts. It's a pity you've been… brainwashed by that Nine-Tails boy."
Urashiki's hand flicked subtly. Red Chakra began forming the shape of his fishing rod, barbed and glowing ominously.
Toneri's stance shifted, ready for combat. He knew his strength had grown immensely since the last confrontation, but caution was key. He activated the seal Naruto had left him. A faint glow appeared on his chest—the mark pulsing steadily.
"It's time," Toneri thought, focusing his chakra.
Meanwhile, on Earth in Konoha, Naruto had just finished greeting Hinata, Minato, and Kushina. He was about to leave to find Sasuke when he sensed the mark activate.
"Toneri?" Naruto's brow furrowed. "He wouldn't trigger this for no reason. Something must be urgent… Could it be Urashiki?"
Without hesitation, Naruto teleported toward Sasuke's location. Sasuke had just returned home from visiting Sakura and Karin, having been pressured by Karin to finish his training quickly. Irritated, he had complied, then greeted Mikoto and Fugaku briefly before resting.
Naruto appeared directly in the living room.
Sasuke, sitting on the sofa, looked up in surprise. "Naruto…? Are we leaving?"
Naruto nodded briskly. "Yes. Let's go. Get up." He grabbed Sasuke's arm and helped him to his feet.
Sasuke frowned. "What happened? Why the rush?"
Mikoto and Fugaku were drawn to the commotion, about to speak. But before they could, Naruto teleported himself and Sasuke away.
Mikoto looked at Fugaku, puzzled. "What just happened?"
Fugaku shrugged. "The children have their own business. If Sasuke is leaving on a sudden journey, it must be important. Trust that it's not casual."
Back on the moon, Urashiki wasted no time. He lunged at Toneri, alternating attacks with precise, rapid movements. Toneri recalled Naruto's instructions: maintain distance, avoid close combat, and watch Urashiki's hands carefully.
Toneri weaved across the lunar surface, keeping a careful eye on the red glow of Urashiki's fishing rod, dodging and weaving with skill.
Urashiki's smirk widened. "Why are you avoiding me, Toneri? Afraid to fight?"
Toneri's expression remained calm. "Do you really think I'm afraid?"
Urashiki chuckled, twirling the red rod. "Then stop running."
With a swift flick of his wrist, the fishing rod extended, the barbed red Chakra line launching toward Toneri.
Toneri's eyes narrowed. He recognized the weapon from Naruto's warning, having never faced it directly before. If it hit him, it could instantly drain his Chakra.
At the critical moment, Naruto and Sasuke teleported onto the battlefield, arriving just in time.
"Toneri!" Naruto shouted, seeing the red Chakra line fly toward him. He immediately activated the Yang Chakra left by the Sage of Six Paths. Truth-Seeking Balls materialized around Toneri, forming a protective barrier.
The barbed fishing hook slammed against the Truth-Seeking shield with a deafening impact, rebounding harmlessly.
Toneri's eyes met Naruto's, a mix of gratitude and determination reflecting in them. Together, they would face Urashiki and defend the Earth—and the tailed beasts—against the impending Ōtsutsuki threat.
The stage was set. The battle against Urashiki had begun.
