The week had flown by in a blur, more quickly than Chloe had expected. It felt like they had only just arrived in New York, and now it was time to go back to LA. They spent their days in a whirlwind of activities—shopping, dinner dates at cozy restaurants, and even taking part in a cameo in the movie.
Trixie, of course, was having the time of her life. She loved every minute of the excitement, from watching the big action scenes to getting to say her lines in front of the cameras. Not to mention the fun she had with Max and Chestnut. She now has too many stories she will be bragging to her friends.
Chloe found herself slipping into a routine she hadn't known she needed—early morning coffee, afternoon strolls through Central Park, spending time with the girls, the cupcake shop, and evenings spent discussing everything from movies to the challenges of balancing family and work. It felt good, natural even, to be close to Alex in a way she hadn't been before. They didn't rush anything. It was comfortable, and for once, she allowed herself to enjoy the simple moments, knowing that the stress of her job back in LA was waiting for her at the end of the week.
But now, it was time to go home. Trixie was bouncing with excitement, talking nonstop about everything they had done. She gave everyone a tight hug, then hugged Nacho, the Orange Cat, and kissed his forehead, promising to visit again. Then, Alex took out a backpack filled with new comics and gave it to her.
"For me?!" Trixie's eyes widened when she saw what was inside.
"Yep! And you remember what I've said?" Alex asked.
Trixie nodded. "I won't say anything to anyone about the shooting."
"Good girl," He ruffled her hair.
Max gave her a bear hug. "I'm gonna miss you, Trix."
Trixie smiled as she hugged her back. "I'll miss you too, Max. I'll call you."
"You better," Max said, pulling back.
Angelina, Scarlett, Halle, Rachel, Caroline, and Max gave Trixie way too many presents.
After one last goodbye...
Alex drove them to the airport. The car ride was quiet, the weight of the week hanging in the air. Chloe looked over at Alex, catching him glancing at her every now and then, his eyes full of something unspoken. But even without him saying, she could tell that he was sad, just like how sad she was at the moment. Even Trixie was silent throughout the ride.
[Airport]
They are going home on Alex's private jet.
Alex stood beside her, his hand lightly resting on her waist. She glanced up at him, meeting his gaze.
"Thanks," she said softly. "For everything. This week meant more to me than I can say."
Alex smiled. "You don't have to thank me. I'm glad you and Trixie could be here. It was… nice having you both around."
Trixie bounced next to them, eager as always. "I had the best time! Thank you, Alex!"
Alex chuckled and gave her a hug. "You're welcome, kiddo. Stay out of trouble in school, alright?"
Trixie nodded vigorously, grinning from ear to ear. "I'll try my best."
Chloe couldn't help but smile as she watched the two of them. Trixie's energy was contagious, and Alex's easy affection for her was evident. It was a bond that felt genuine, something Chloe was grateful for.
"Alright," Alex said, his tone turning a bit more serious as he pulled Chloe into a tight hug. "I'll miss you."
She squeezed him back, not wanting to let go. "I'll miss you too."
"You do know, I'll drop by unannounced, right?"
"You better..."
Both of them kissed.
With one last look at each other, Chloe and Trixie boarded the jet. As the steps were lifted and the door closed, Chloe glanced out the small window at Alex, standing alone on the tarmac, watching them go.
Then, the plane began its slow roll down the runway, and as they took off, Chloe felt the distance between them growing, even if just for a little while.
...
[20 minutes later]
Inside the jet, Trixie was already on her feet, bouncing around with excitement. She ran from one end to the other, poking her head into the small kitchen area and looking out of the window. She found the cabin's controls and started fiddling with the buttons, making the lights above flicker on and off. Chloe watched her with a smile, relieved that her daughter's energy hadn't run out yet.
A soft voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Excuse me, Ms. Decker." A flight attendant approached, holding a somewhat large box. "This is from Mr. Wilson."
Chloe looked up in surprise. "For me?"
The attendant nodded and handed over the box with a polite smile before leaving her to it.
Curious, Chloe set the box down on the table in front of her. She opened it carefully, her hands lingering over the edges as she pulled back the tissue paper. The first thing she saw was a stunning emerald green dress, the kind that looked expensive just by its weight. It was soft to the touch, the fabric shimmering faintly under the cabin lights.
'Wow, beautiful!' She thought.
She pushed the dress aside, and beneath it, there were two small boxes. Chloe raised an eyebrow and reached for the first one, a small velvet box. When she opened it, her eyes widened. Inside, nestled in the soft cushion, was a diamond bracelet. The diamonds caught the light, sparkling brilliantly, and Chloe couldn't help but smile at the gesture. It was the kind of luxury gift she knew only Alex would think of, a little reminder of their time together.
The second box was slightly smaller, and when she opened it, two delicate earrings sat inside. They were elegant but simple, each with a diamond drop that sparkled like the stars. Chloe traced the edges of the earrings with her fingers, admiring the craftsmanship.
As she picked them up, a small note caught her eye, folded neatly in the box. She unfolded it and smiled as she read.
Chloe,
I thought you could use something special to remind you of the time you spent here. The earrings are for Trixie, of course—she's got a good eye, I'm sure she'll love them. As for the dress, well… when we meet again, we'll make sure it gets its proper debut.
Also, just so you know, I've got a lot of freaky things planned for next time. I'll leave that up to your imagination for now.
See you soon,
Alex
Chloe laughed softly to herself. She could practically hear his voice teasing her through the words. She shook her head in disbelief at how effortlessly he could mix genuine affection with humor, even in something like a note. It made her heart flutter a little.
She leaned back in her seat, letting out a deep breath as she glanced at Trixie, who was still engrossed in her exploration of the jet. Chloe tucked the note into her bag, then moved the boxes and carefully set the dress aside for later. She couldn't help but think about how much Alex had spoiled her in such a short time. But it wasn't the gifts that made her smile—it was how easy it had been to just be with him. How comfortable it had felt.
A slight ache stirred in her chest as she realized just how much she'd already missed him.
"Mom!" Trixie's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. The girl was standing by the window, her face pressed up against the glass. "Look at the clouds! They look like cotton candy!"

[2 months later]
Two months passed, each one blending into the next as the shoot for Spider-Man continued to move forward. Alex kept his promise to visit Evangeline in New Zealand. They spent two days there, mostly in the quiet of the rolling hills and scenic landscapes, enjoying each other's company away from the bustle of the city. After that, he returned to New York, diving back into the relentless pace of production. Every moment felt crucial now, with the pressure of delivering something fans had been waiting for hanging over his head.
Back on set, everything seemed to be moving smoothly. The fight scenes were clean. The special effects were flawless. Every stunt had been meticulously planned. All in all, the shooting was going great.
Meanwhile, Scarlett's next movie, Lucy, was nearing its final stages in pre-production. The main shoot will begin next month.
Angelina, on the other hand, had been attending podcasts and small interviews. During each appearance, she dropped subtle hints about an upcoming DC movie, a tease that sent fans into a frenzy. DC followers were already buzzing, speculating about which role she might be playing. And then there was the new Wonder Woman comic. Angelina had been dropping hints that she might be playing the role of Wonder Woman, adding fuel to the fire. Every word she spoke was calculated, creating waves of anticipation.
Max and Caroline, as always, continued with their modeling careers. Their business was also thriving.
Halle did a few modeling gigs here, another successful collaboration with Jennifer Lopez, and the photoshoots were always top-tier, and she had developed a reputation for her professionalism. But it was the collaboration with J.Lo that had caught the most attention. People couldn't get enough of it. It had that signature star power, blending two of the biggest names in the industry. Halle's presence was magnetic, and it only made sense that she would continue to rise in prominence. The Blind Side's shoot will begin soon... Till then, Alex simply continued to boost her fame.
And then there was the song. The one that had the internet ablaze.
Alex had teamed up with Jennifer Lopez for a track that seemed to come out of nowhere. No one had expected it, and the fans loved it. The song skyrocketed to the top of every chart, dominating airwaves and streaming platforms alike. The collaboration was electric—an unexpected pairing that clicked instantly. Fans couldn't get enough, and Jennifer's comeback was solidified in a way that only she could pull off. For Alex, it was another layer to his growing fame. People couldn't stop talking about him.
And in between all these... Alex made time to visit Chloe whenever he got time.
