"Miss, there's a letter for you. It came from Seville in the west. The courier is suspected to be a member of the Royal Guard and is currently detained inside the [Holy Radiance City]. Mr. Anthony and I have both inspected the letter. There are no traces of suspicious magic."
"Give it to me."
Taking the letter from the head maid, Astrid straightened in her chair behind the desk. Her slender, nimble fingers quickly broke the seal, exposing the yellowed parchment within to the sunlight spilling across the desk.
The elegant handwriting carries a faint scent of ink, glimmering beneath the morning light. Astrid carefully read the letter from top to bottom, her slightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed.
Iris wasn't disappointed with her after all.
The peace long yearned for by the people of both nations had finally seen a glimmer of hope through negotiation.
"Elise, ask Lyra to come here."
"Understood, Miss."
