The singing rose and fell on the wind, slow and steady, somewhere past the far side of the plaza.
Jin listened to it for a moment longer. Then he turned to Kyung-min.
"Can you see anything?" he asked.
Kyung-min frowned. "I don't see things far away," he said. "I see things before they happen."
"I know," Jin said. "But if we kept walking. Toward that sound. What happens?"
Kyung-min looked at him for a second, like he hadn't thought of using it that way. Then he closed his eyes.
His face went still. His eyelids flickered, the way they did when he was reaching ahead. Jin had watched him do it in training a hundred times, standing in the middle of the yard while Joon fired electric spheres at him, stepping aside from each one a moment before it arrived. But this was different. He wasn't dodging anything. He was looking down a road that hadn't happened yet, walking it in his head, step by step.
His brow creased.
