Freya left the lounge where the other elite and fabled breachers watched the trials and and came by Yama, who happened to be sitting at the edge of the balcony guard rail holding out his sword in both hands, the green hue around it pulsed at it's bearer's touch, he didn't turn when he heard Freya's footsteps from behind. She came placing her hands on the guard rail watching the view of the facility, the noise of footsteps and murmuring of breacher's brought nostalgia to how Fólkvangr was.
"Reminiscing only brings sorrow." He said retoricaly. She ignored it and let out a sigh.
"It does, but it does remind us that all those we lost, we are fighting this war for them."
"The war has always been going on since the Great Fall otherwise we wouldn't be in this mess but the Deity knows, that's why he wants it to go on."
"Are you mocking the ways of our deity, in his homeland!!?" She shouted, her eyes and the sigils on her dress pulsed at the anger she brought as a tiny shockwave erupted where they were but nobody below noticed. Yama slightly jerked forward before hiding his sword inside his coat, his snake tattoos hissed as he faced Freya with a cold glare.
"I can say what needs to be said because you know it too better than anyone here, there's a reason Maya appeared just like the prince of the deity did, they exalted and made wonders only to let more world's die."
Freya frowned hearing this, she clenched her fists and let out a sigh, her eyes returned to normal and the sigils disappeared.
"Remember this, behind every great miracle, there's a much greater sacrifice that miracle must encounter. I went to the sister's of fate, they can't see nor predict a world's view the moment we fight once a world has been breached."
Yama's eyes blinked before letting out an impassive expression.
"You don't mean..."
"Yes I do, someone has infiltrated Mundus, more specifically the threads connecting Mundus to the other peripheral world's."
"And if they did, they know who we send, how many forces go in and out as well, explains why Mundus 147894's world view was stolen, it's only a matter of time before..."
Yama said thinking critically at the situation they were in meanwhile Maya,Daisy and the other trial breachers appeared at an entrance to a labyrinth. It spanned to almost half a country with a huge gate at it's entrance. The doors opened as Alucard stepped forward before all of them making a regal smile.
"Welcome to your second test, the test of hope. Here lies a labyrinth by the wonderman himself Daedulus, where you have to find him to get out of it."
"Are there any hidden messages for this test, sir?" A middle aged man asked from the breacher side.
"There is, and that is have hope in finding him, good luck and may Mundus be with you." A huge gust of wind blew from behind them all as they all gripped the ground below them, trying to not get swallowed by the labyrinth but to no avail as the remaining breachers all got swallowed inside as the gates shut with a loud thud. Maya hesitantly breathed as she found herself alone in one corner of the labyrinth, with turns and walls as high as the sky, no one could possibly get a vantage point of where they were nor find a way around it.
C'mon Maya you gotta think, Daisy should be fine on her own, the real question is how are you gonna find Daedulus?
She thought as she placed her hand on the wall and closed her eyes trying to sense Daisy's essence but the walls appeared to have the same essence as her which made things alot harder. She let out a sigh.
"So no tracking nor tracing damn it might as well start walking."
She walked through a turn on her right, then left, left again, right and left and found herself at a dead end. She let out a sigh in exasperation as she went back they way she came. She walked endlessly as she started hearing voices of people shouting in the distance. She ran slowly through the turns and found herself close to one of them as their voices grew near, just a turn ahead. She reached and turned only to find it was another dead end but the voice of the person felt so near that's when she thought.
The labyrinth distorts sounds to make it seem like the one near is there yet they are not.
"That means that if the loudest isn't the nearest, the furthest is." She said as Alucard watched from the lounge letting out a smirk watching Freya and Yama walk back in,
"Has the test started already?" She asked remaining oblivious to the conversation she had earlier with Yama.
"It has and I must say she's a quick thinker, but it won't get her far." He said facing her before noticing Yama watch the panel showing Daisy.
"I thought you were interested in her?" Alucard asked his expression a tad confused at Yama's earlier commitment.
"It has not reached where it gets difficult first I want see who befriended her, that gift of hers is almost as scary as Maya's."
On the screen showing Daisy, she was very shocked at what her eyes set upon, an unconscious body of one of the breachers, she quickly tried waking her up by shaking her body but she didn't budge. She let out a sigh as a thread appeared out of her palms as the thread intertwined and went through the woman's ear before the body started moving from the fingers as she took control over her and slowly awoke inside the woman.
"This should do, now what is this maze and why does it hinder my power?" She said running as the thread snapped and she was fully conscious inside the woman running at great speeds over every turn and bend to more dead ends. She quickly scanned her surroundings taking a moment to breathe realising the walls shifted, the path and corners shifted the moment she took her eyes off of them. She was in a dire situation, she has never lasted this long in a unconscious body and if she does....
Maya laid down on another dead end puzzled as to why the voices seemed louder and tried reaching the furthest voices but they all seemed to lead to more dead ends, frustrated she put her hands on her knees and laid her head on them, possibly thinking how to get out of this predicament. She wished Daisy was right next to her, she could come up with a plan easier just by not thinking alone until a familiar voice echoed towards her ears.
"Maya?"
She looked up only to see a path that turned but her ears could hear her, she was close. Maya stood, and prayed in her head that Daisy was at the end of the path. She used reality warp and ran as fast as possible through the turns and the path as she shut off all other voices just to hear Daisy's until she reached where an unfamiliar woman stood puzzled and shocked at Maya's arrival. Maya's face fell to despair only for the woman to speak.
"Maya is that really you?"
She looked at the woman puzzled before the woman ran and gave her hug.
"It's me Daisy. Am so glad it's really you." Maya recognized it was truly Daisy and remembered her gift.
"There's no time to explain but I need to get back to my body before I remain fully conscious in this one." She said in panic.
"I called out to you several times, how did you find me?"
"You called me out several times? Daisy I've only heard you up until a few minutes ago..."
She said both releasing each other from their embrace. As Maya pondered the thought of why she didn't hear her up until she thought of her.
I thought..... thoughts, that's it!
"Daisy all you have to do is think about where your body is, just think and pray to find it using your essence as fuel."
"Okay, I'll try."
She closed her eyes and focused on the last known location of her body until she opened her eyes and recognized the wall leading to her body they both walked and found her body unconsciously lying down. She knelt and placed her hand on her head as it glowed a pale pink colour before the woman's body collapsed and Daisy woke up from hers. Maya helped her up before smiling in satisfaction.
"Good to be home I guess."
"You don't want to know what went through my head while I was in that woman."
The woman slowly awoke as well looking at the both of them terrified until Maya gestured.
"No no it's okay, we found you lying here and thought we could help by staying with you for awhile."
Her breathing ragged she calmed down before looking up.
"How will we even get out of here, I passed out due to exhaustion of my essence trying to sense through the walls."
"I think all we have to do is think of Daedulus and the walls should shift to where he is." Daisy said looking at Maya to back her theory.
"It could work since we are in Mundus everything is connected, so the more we think about him the more likely we'll find him." Maya added. The three of them both started walking down the maze only thinking of finding Daedulus at the end of one of the corners as a long straight path laid infront them to a large fountain spewing out water but with gold and black rifts shifting within as some other breachers including the track suit boy, long coated man and red haired girl stood at the wall. They all turned to see Maya, Daisy and the woman as they just looked displeased. The three of them wondered as they drew closer to the crowd finding an old man busy shifting his head and hands in an almost ghosty manner on a piece of paper with his eyes closed.
"He hasn't said anything to us even though we found him we thought the test was over but nothing." The track suit boy said folding his arms as he walked back and forth. Maya stepped forward looking at his hands as they shifted on the paper before focusing using Controllare to see the invisible message he wrote on it,
You have found me, good. But what about the rest of your comrades, wouldn't you want them to find me or would you let them roam the labyrinth until they enter eternal slumber? Regardless have hope for they will find their way to you, to me and to victory. Stop my hands so that labyrinth may stop and all of you will pass.
Maya let out a sigh and closed her eyes as she firmly gripped both his hands as everyone wondered in awe and confusion. His grip was mighty strong as Maya strained to keep them from shifting back to the paper as gold light appeared on his hands his head whirling violently before it stopped.
"Maya what....."
Daisy was cut short before the entire labyrinth walls fell rapidly below the ground as it became a large open field where everyone who took the test could be seen. Maya opened them to see he had disappeared then Alucard appeared from a portal clapping his hands.
"Absolutely astonishing that all of the remaining survivors passed this one, you have my respect. Now off to the final test of belief. There will be no hint on this one, May you believe in G.O.D."
He clapped his hands once as everyone's vision blurred and they passed out.
