Tej's POV
After that, I looked at Basilio and asked if he was okay with the cancellation of his trade partnership with my home country. "Yes, I am okay with that," he replied while being relaxed and chilled by it. "I don't like trading with a country that is dishonest."
"Yeah, he doesn't like that," Chivo added.
To that, it really made sense.
And so, while they were discussing where they should head to next, I suggested going to my cousin's home near the southeastern gate of the city. "Your cousin's home?" Ormoc asked.
I nodded. "Yes, he's a doctor, and he lives there."
And then, all of them agreed, and we all went there on foot. Along the way, I saw that a few of them, probably being used with modern vehicles back in the mainland, were a bit tired from walking. But they managed to endure until we had reached that house by the southeastern gate, which leads to the rural, grassy areas occasionally full of monsters from the city walls. There my cousin, Nathan, was busy in his profession in his small clinic in the first floor of our home when he saw our presence.
"Woah!" he was quite surprised and taken aback by the fact that I brought some people he doesn't know before. "Tej-kun! Wait, who are these people?"
"Good noon, Nathan-kun," I responded brightly. "These people are from the mainland."
"Greetings, sir," Basilio said to Nathan with a positive and polite tone.
"Yo," Katsuko added with a greeting.
"Good noon," Artem added as well.
Nathan was surprised, this time, on Artem and a few of his comrades being Forest Vamzoms from the mainland. "What the…?! Are you guys Vamzoms?"
"Yes, we are," Artem responded, "but we are good, docile, and civilized now."
"And I am their leader," Basilio added.
Nathan couldn't believe his ears, and I can tell that by his face.
"Oh, man…" my mind commented.
But seeing that the Vamzoms are not attacking him, Nathan snapped out and said, "O-Okay, I see then…that was quite impossible…"
"Yeah, weird, isn't it?" Katsuko responded.
After that, most of us went in to have some lunch and sit down, except that Basilio and his group had already lunch on the way here. Most in their group remained outside in the streets nearby, mostly because Nathan's house is too small for them to fit in. It was essentially a tenement housing with 2 stories, and our rooms were upstairs.
And then, when being asked how's my day, I quickly explained how I was being given a fine by Romana, again for the 1st time this week, and how Basilio had given me food and how Romana had made a fuss out of it.
Nathan was shocked by what had happened and signed in disappointment because this happened almost all the time, from unnecessary fines to occasional harassments.
But he was very thankful for Basilio and his group for helping dealing with that.
"Yes, you're welcome," Basilio replied back positively.
"That's Basilio-kun for you!" Kahraman added.
Viviana, his younger sister, then nodded.
Nathan was happy to hear that.
