???'s POV
I had my money taken by this city guard because I was being given a fine for loitering, again…and, she, a noble named Romana Alma, gave a stern warning on doing that. I had to comply, and she left off, completing her duty at this hour.
(Sighs)
How am I supposed to eat this lunchtime…?
I was so hungry… until someone offered me some food.
When I looked at him, he was positive, as if food wasn't a concern to him at all.
I'm Tej Lengyel, and I am a smart (not genius necessarily) healer, but an unlicensed one.
Basilio's POV
I am doing this because the city guard exploited him even though he was starving. So, I gave some of the bread and meat I had bought from the ferry in Metalnem.
"Really?" the boy responded back.
I nodded. "Yeah, are you hungry, kid?"
Tej's POV
Did he mean by it...? So, out of hunger, I accepted it and gobbled up the food he offered me. It was quite good. And then, some people who were probably in his group or party came to him and asked what he was doing.
"Oh," the boy in black replied, "This boy was hungry but…"
Their conversation and chatter became a bit inaudible for me to hear.
I wondered who he was, so I got up and asked for his name.
Amazingly, he looked at me and said, ""I'm Valencia Basilio. I am from the mainland, and the leader of the country of Ruslav."
I was shocked because I had heard stories about Ruslav from merchants and travellers who came here.
"Wait…" I looked at some hooded figures in his group, "…are you guys Forest Vamzoms…"
"Ah, yes, we are," one of them replied nicely.
I was still stunned, knowing that the stories told by outsiders and merchants were, indeed, true.
So, I said to them and others, "I'm Tej Lengyel, and I am a healer here." Basilio-kun was stunned yet remained positive. "Oh, okay, nice to meet you, Tej-kun. Good day."
And then, some in his group introduced themselves to me, and two of them were summoned heroes in this world and also…his older siblings, too.
Woah, so this means that Basilio-san was an Otherworlder here?
Yes, he is.
Furthermore, one of his friends was an Otherworlder, too, who managed to keep his identity from his past life intact, and Basilio-san was in that category of Otherworlders, too.
Man, that was amazing…
But then, this amazing meeting with them was interrupted by Romana, who came back and became upset by what Basilio had done for me. It seemed that she saw what he had given me and was upset by it.
Basilio and the others saw that and turned towards her.
"What is it, ma'am?" Basilio asked while not being upset at her.
"What were you giving to this peasant?" Romana asked back.
"Food, why?"
"Are you an outsider from the mainland?"
"Yes, why?"
"You know that's inappropriate to do that here."
Basilio and his group were shocked and upset by it.
"What? Why?...!"
"Seriously?"
"Not cool…"
"Because this boy is a poor, unlicensed healer," Romana replied back seriously as if she was exerting authority here.
"What? Are you flippin' serious?!" Basilio retorted back. "Just giving food to a peasant like him is bad here? You know what, I was practicing what I believed in by doing that on purpose!"
Romana was pissed off by this, while Katsuko, one of Basilio's friends, gave his support to him by shouting, "Whoo! Show that guard who you are, man!"
Ormoc-san, one of Basilio's older siblings, then showed his support for his cause.
Romana-san was getting angrier; so much so, she pulled out her pistol and shot Basilio with it twice. "You son of a bastard!"
I was shocked. "Romana-san!"
Almost everyone in Basilio's group was shocked and alerted right away, but to my surprise and astonishment, his wounds healed up fast, and they disappeared, leaving blood stains on his uniform. Romana was shocked, while Basilio smiled at her with confidence. "Nice try, ma'am."
