Chapter 327 - Self-Judgment

Miria looked around, horrified. In the middle of the debris, Miria of Ashenford was lying down. Then she slowly woke up and turned her head toward her. Her gaze was cold, icy, accusing. A shiver ran through Miria. She had the impression that this version of herself was truly looking at her… across time.

"It's your fault…" murmured Miria of Ashenford in a low, cutting voice.

She got up with difficulty, her body still marked by the explosion, and approached.

"It's your fault," she repeated louder. "Everything is your fault."

Miria stepped back, her heart pounding.

"No… it's not…"

"You didn't listen to your parents!" continued Miria of Ashenford, her voice rising. "They warned you! They told you Kil would only bring you misfortune! But you preferred to disobey them! You kept seeing him in secret! You let yourself be manipulated like an idiot!"

"I… I thought he loved me," stammered Miria.

"You believed what you wanted to believe! You closed your eyes to all the times he put you in danger! All the times he abandoned you! And when he kidnapped you… when he tried to take your power… you couldn't even stop him!"

Miria shook her head, tears in her eyes.

"I did everything to resist! I gave everything! But the grimoire… it took over! I couldn't control it!"

"And because of that, the city was destroyed!" shouted Miria of Ashenford. "Hundreds of lives! Entire families! Lira… our friends… and Leo! Leo who loved you from the beginning! Leo who saved you again and again! You killed him! You killed them all!"

"No… no… it wasn't me… it wasn't me…"

Voices began to echo from everywhere, like an infinite and cruel echo:

*It's your fault…*

*It's your fault…*

*It's your fault…*

Miria covered her ears with her hands and screamed:

"No… No… It's not me! Stop! Stop saying that!"

But the voices continued, growing louder and more numerous, surrounding her from all sides.

*It's your fault… It's your fault… It's your fault…*

Miria collapsed to her knees, hands pressed against her ears, screaming to drown out the sound of her own guilt.
