Miria found herself in an abandoned house. She advanced cautiously… and saw Miria of Ashenford bound by magical chains. In front of her stood Kil and his companions.
Miria's thought: *This is the day Kil kidnapped me… He had overheard everything from my conversation with Leo. Realizing I was no longer going to help him… he captured me.*
Kil was using spells to torture her, trying to tear the power of the grimoire from her.
"I am one with this power," cried Miria of Ashenford. "I can't give it to anyone!"
"Very well," answered Kil. "Then I'll take control of you… and thus control the grimoire."
She panicked, tried to free herself, but the chains were too powerful. She begged him.
"Please… no… Don't do this… I beg you…" she whimpered, tears in her eyes.
Kil approached.
"Shhh, my love… Don't worry. Just let me do this… Once I obtain your powers, I will be the master of this world."
Miria of Ashenford was crying hot tears.
"No… no, please, no… Kil, I beg you… don't do this… don't do this…"
Kil raised his hand. A black aura escaped from it and penetrated her. Miria of Ashenford screamed in pain.
"STOP… STOP… STOP IT… PLEASE… STOP… AAAAH!"
She resisted with all her strength, but she was weakening. Miria, powerless, could only watch.
Then another force took over. Miria of Ashenford's eyes turned completely white. A shockwave burst from her, projecting everything around. The chains broke. Her body began to levitate.
Kil's companions fled. Kil still tried to penetrate her mind, but an attack reduced him to dust. The ground cracked. Buildings began to collapse.
Leo, Lira, and the others arrived. They tried to approach her, to reason with her, but the whirlwind of power prevented them from advancing.
Leo shouted with all his strength:
"Miria! I love you! I've always loved you! Come back to us!"
Miria, who was watching, felt her heart break.
Those words also touched Miria of Ashenford. A tear fell. She managed to communicate by telepathy.
*Flee… Get out of the town… Everything is going to be destroyed. The grimoire has become uncontrollable. I'm going to try to hold it back… to give you time to escape.*
Her friends, especially Leo, first refused. But they were forced to leave. Miria of Ashenford watched them go, crying in silence.
A second shockwave devastated the town even more.
Then a third… the last one. Completely destroying everything.
When the light disappeared, everything was nothing but ruins...
