"Iker, forgive me, but I just do not want you to get hurt, neither do I want anyone to take advantage of you," Easton began.
"So you believe I am being fooled? Apart from that, in your eyes I am so daft I can tell real affection from a fake one?" Iker's frown deepened.
"No, that is not what I meant at all, Iker. Far from it, you are a noble soul, you trust easily and you forgive kindly. There is nothing wrong with that, I simply do not want you to cry over a woman who never really cared for you in the first place.".
"My love is not like that. She is not like all these nobleladies who simply chase power, security and influence. If she had her way, she wished I was not who I am, and had I my way, I would gladly renounce all my rights if it meant being with her for the rest of my life," Iker said vehemently.
Easton had never seen Iker speak so intently and powerfully about anyone before. It only solidified how deeply Iker had fallen in love with this woman.
