Chapter 75 - A Normal day

It was a normal day for the council. Well, that was until everyone learned about the breaking news.

'Fairy Tail Guild had gathered all its members and left Magnolia and is heading towards the council headquarters.'

When this news reached the ears of the councilmen, it was like a volcano erupted in their minds. These guys were so frightened that some of them even felt like they were living in a nightmare.

Although the council bullies and scolds Makarov on weekdays and even threatens that they would announce Fairy Tail as a dark guild, that is only because Makarov is willing to sit down and listen.

They were just joking, as they really don't dare to do that. The power and connections Fairy Tail has under their camp are not something the council wants to mess with. Especially when they know that going to war with Fairy Tail would only harm them.

So a delicate balance was made. The council would only verbally punish Fairy Tail when they caused mischief and would let them go after an hour of scolding or a day in the council prison. Apart from that, the council didn't dare to do anything further in case it might provoke Makarov and Fairy Tail as a whole.

But today their worst nightmare may have come true.

"Everyone, I think everyone has an idea on why I have called this emergency meeting, " Crawford said as he looked at all the councilmen present.

After learning of the movements of Fairy Tail, Crawford didn't hesitate as he called an emergency meeting using his authority as the speaker.

Everyone nodded with heavy expressions. They all got the news and were very nervous. Each of them had their own thoughts and strange conspiracy plans of what Fairy Tail would do after mobilizing such a large number of wizards.

"What do we do? I say we deploy our army to confront Fairy Tail," one councilman asked as his eyes were filled with fear and excitement. He is part of the faction that both fears Fairy Tail and wants to dismantle Fairy Tail.

"No, I think we should first know what is the reason is first. Makarov isn't someone who would mobilize the guild like this without a good reason. And don't forget we also need Fairy Tail's cooperation for the upcoming raid in the Northern Plains. " Yajima Makarov's friend and the one who usually mediates between the council and Fairy Tail spoke calmly as he looked at Crawford.

Although he appeared to be calm, he was also panicking in his heart. But unlike others, he wasn't worried about Fairy Tail coming to the council to start a rebellion. After all, if it were really like that, then he would be the first to know about it, as Makarov would definitely tell him, since he is also a Fairy Tail member. What he is worried about is that these guys would be too freaked out and suddenly decide to fire the Etherion at Fairy Tail.

"You are right, Delidora's threat level is too much for us to handle alone. So we need the help of the local guilds if we want to defeat that demon, " another councilman spoke.

"But this is Fairy Tail we are talking about. Are you sure those idiots are not coming here to cause trouble? " another asked.

"Yeah, those troublemakers have no respect for the council," another added.

"But Makarov knows how to control his guild members. I don't think we should make such a hasty decision to send our army and fight them without even knowing what's going on, " Yajima countered.

Like that, the councilmen began to quarrel with each other. This is the norm. The councilmen would make various negative remarks, and Yajima would counter each one of them. Usually, this would go on for hours, but today was a bit different.

"Enough, calm yourselves down. We have no time for this pointless quarrel. Do you know those guys from Fairy Tail are coming near here, and we need to make a decision quickly?" Crawford said angrily with a bit of arrogance in his tone.

Unlike the others, he didn't fear Fairy Tail much since he had the perfect trump card in his hand. With this, his personal safety is guaranteed.

With his words, everyone was silent. Although most of them wanted to take this opportunity to disband Fairy Tail, they didn't want to implicate themselves and ruin their reputation, so they decided to keep watching.

Finally, after another round of discussion, it was decided that they would first send a messenger to understand Fairy Tail's motive for such a large-scale mobilization. At the same time, they also gave the orders for their armies to be ready for battle. If the Fairy Tail guild were truly trying to rebel, then the council would take action against them immediately.

…..

While the council was boiling with excitement in the northern plain, Akira and Wakaba had just come across their first town in a long while. This town's name is Brago, and it is one of the towns in the northern plain.

Since the weather out here is very cold and terrible, the towns in this region are small in number but larger in size.

But although the towns here are larger in size than those in the west, their economy is not as good as other towns due to the harsh weather. Merchants rarely come here since there is not much to trade, making the towns in the northern plain somewhat isolated from the world.

Though life here is harsh, the people living here have all been used to it and could function normally and live their lives in harmony.

Well, that was what Akira thought, but with Deliora's arrival, things changed drastically. Although it had not even been a long time since Deliora's presence was discovered, the demon had already destroyed more than a dozen towns.

This had caused the people in the northern plain to panic, and everyone was feeling despair and helplessness. So due to this the once lovely and harmonious towns began to give out a gloomy atmosphere.

Those who were lucky enough to escape Deliora's destruction came to seek refuge in nearby towns and spread the terror of the demon.

So even though a wide area evacuation had not happened, everyone in the town was like they were ready to run away at any moment.

So in such a situation, outsiders like Akira and his group were naturally not that welcome. Although they were not kicked out, they were not treated that greatly either, as everyone was too busy preparing for their escape.

So this meant that there was no one who could help them find where Ur lived. Although Ultear also lived there and knew where her former home was but after escaping from the lab last night, she got lost.

Well, you can't blame her. After all, she was still a little girl who was sick all year round due to her high magic power. The last time she managed to walk back home was already a miracle.

"So any ideas, Wakaba?" Akira asked as he sat next to Ultear in an inn where they decided to have lunch.

"Well, I think we should first stay here for a while. With Deliora running here, going out to explore is far too dangerous. We should first find some clues on where Ultear's hometown is so our chances of encountering the demon would be far less. " Wakaba said as he puffed a mouthful of smoke.

"Yeah, sorry, Ultear, you heard him, it's not that we don't want to help you, it's just the fact that we need to be wary of encountering Deliora. " Akira nodded in agreement on this. He was also thinking the same, as although he had the confidence to face Deliora head-on, he didn't want to take unnecessary risks.

'Sigh, I should have sent another clone to monitor Deliora,' Akira thought with a sigh. Unfortunately, his skill level is only at the level where he could make one clone who can act separately. Otherwise, he would need to go into Rimuru mode and ask Ciel to help him.

"It's okay, I understand," Ultear said as she buried her head in Akira's clone to hide her disappointment.

Seeing this, Akira shook his head and didn't speak anymore. He would need to walk around this town and see if he could get any clues.

But as if God was listening to what Akira was thinking, a sudden commotion happened that attracted everyone's attention.
