Max attacked again, and Dragonheart descended.
The Eighth Shadow raised its greatsword with both hands.
Clang!
For an instant, the two weapons locked together.
Max's eyes were cold. His wrist turned, the Saint Origin Sword Art shifted, and the force behind Dragonheart changed direction.
The greatsword was thrown aside, and Max's sword swept across the shadow's chest.
Boom!
The Eighth Shadow was launched backward, and its body crashed into the arena floor, tearing a long trench through the black stone.
Max stood calmly at the other end with Dragonheart resting in his hand.
The Eighth Shadow slowly pushed itself upright. Its body was covered in wounds, its greatsword was chipped in several places, and its aura had grown unstable.
Yet something changed the moment it stood.
The shadow stopped moving.
Max's eyes narrowed as the atmosphere turned heavy.
