At that word, Hwayeong frowned.
Since coming to the palace, “girls from the capital” usually meant that flock of pink-clad peacocks jingling with jewelry.
And the one who stood out most among them was Heeran.
Granted, the capital was a big place—there could’ve been others.
But just in case, Hwayeong asked, “By capital girls, do you mean that group with Heeran?”
Sohwa answered immediately.
“Yes, that’s the one.”
“Wait—so you’re saying this Hongjin girl was one of Heeran’s lackeys?”
‘Lackey’ might be putting it a bit strongly, but Heeran definitely seemed to be the one leading the group.
Sohwa nodded slowly. “Something like that. From what I’ve seen, even her maid seemed to boss the other ladies’ maids around.”
So, in short: both the lady and her maid were acting like they ran the place.
Which, to be fair, wasn’t exactly new.
