"Are you trying to joke around with me?" Bai Meiyue asked coldly. She did not like how casual the man was being with her. It was as if the two of them were good friends, even though they did not know one another.
The man raised his hands in the air as if he were surrendering. "Of course not; it was you who started it first. You and I both know that we have never met with one another. You actually asked me if I knew you from before. How can I know you when I have never run into you?" What the man said indeed made sense, but something about his presence alone made Bai Meiyue feel a bit weird. She did not know why, but whenever he talked or moved, she had this feeling that she knew him.
"I just feel —"
"That I am too friendly?" The man offered helpfully. He then spread his hands in front of him and said to her, "I am a merchant who is bound to move around and meet with new people. If I am as cold as you, how will I sell my things?"
Once again, he made a correct point.
