Chapter 207 - Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 202

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Vongrak.

Izumi POV.

"Very well, I'll prepare everything for your transfer, Miss Zenin! I'll contact Shiketsu immediately. All the paperwork should be ready in a few days. You'll need to go to Shiketsu yourself and speak with your principal to finalize the paperwork in person. After that, you'll be a fully-fledged UA student," Nezu said cheerfully.

"Wait, that was it?" Mai asked incredulously, Nezu laughed happily.

"Of course, Miss Zenin! It's not at all unusual for someone to enter during their second term, or even transfer from one university to another; it's all allowed. You'll lose a portion of your Shiketsu tuition payment, but I understand that your family will pay your UA tuition, so there's no difference."

"Add to that your quirk, there are... some exceptions in schools and universities for hunters and heroes that surround people with the ability to become a weapon, they have other kinds of needs, and one of them is when they get a full-time Meister."

"With just that, your transfer to UA can be expedited and is practically done," Nezu said easily. Mai frowned slightly and nodded.

"I... very well, thank you, Principal Nezu." Mai said as she bowed slightly.

"No problem!" Nezu said cheerfully. "Now, let's talk about your resume !" Nezu changed the subject, grabbing a tablet and tapping it several times. "According to your academic record from Shiketsu, you've been a student in their Hero and Hunter Department, you're a second-year student, and your grades are passing, but you're in the lowest percentile for practicals. You've done some internships, but... you haven't repeated any of them, and some internship contracts even ended before the agreed-upon term." Nezu hummed as he tapped the tablet, and Mai shuddered slightly.

"I'm an E-Rank, Principal Nezu. My quirk, aside from my weapon transformation, is completely useless. Any offers I had with them ended after working with them for a few days, and they discovered exactly how little I was capable of," Mai said, being brutally honest with a contemptuous smile.

"Mai." Maki said from the side, worried. Mai just glared at her to silence her. Nezu hummed.

"I see. Don't worry, Miss Zenin, I'll take care of it," Nezu said easily. Mai seemed surprised and somewhat confused by this statement. Nezu simply smiled and lowered the tablet. "And now, the important question."

"You are here as a weapon of Young Miyamura, he is a first-year student, you are in a position to enter the second year, normally I would put you in the second-year class as you correspond to your curriculum, but now the decision is entirely yours."

"Do you prefer to repeat the first year to have the same classes as Young Miyamura, do you prefer to stay in the second year, or... something more hybrid?" Nezu asked curiously, Mai frowned.

"Having to repeat... the entire first year? Isn't there a better option? " Mai asked with a grimace. Nezu laughed.

"You don't need to repeat the first year if you don't want to, Miss Zenin. As I said, there's the hybrid option. You can't enter the hero course immediately due to administrative issues, so you'll be placed in the second year of General Studies if you don't want to spend the first year with Mr. Miyamura."

"All your theory classes will be with second-year students, but your practical classes will be with class 1-A, alongside Mr. Miyamura. We will adapt your schedule to coordinate exactly what is necessary, including internships, work studies, and any contracts Mr. Miyamura obtains outside of school, which must also be signed and agreed to by you."

"And finally, in the practical exercises and evaluations, although you are a weapon, your grade will be separate to that of Mr. Miyamura. We may not be Shibusen, but you are not the first person with a weapon quirk to attend UA. We have a couple of special courses, both for you and for Mr. Miyamura as your Meister."

"In the same year as Mr. Miyamura, there's young Eugeo, who can transform into a weapon. He's in class 1-B of the hero course and has been taking special classes since the beginning of the year, so you might want to talk to him if you have any questions or need help. Young Miyamura, you can speak with Mr. Kirigaya and Miss Zuberg about Meister classes," Nezu said easily.

"Wait, this Kirigaya and Zuberg, who's Eugeo's Meister?" Mai asked, confused. Nezu smiled.

"Both of them." Nezu said playfully, Mai's eyes widened, and I shrugged.

"It's not as strange as you think, Mai. After all, just as I can handle you, Maki can too. You just don't want Maki to be your official Meister," I said easily. "I also know other people. Ruby's brother goes to Shibusen, and he shares a lot with Ruby, and Ruby feels the need to share it with us."

"There's a halberd girl who officially has two registered Meisters at Shibusen, I even think I heard something about a third Meister, so it's pretty common." I said while humming.

"Oh…" Mai said, blinking. "And it took me 20 years to get a single Meister other than my sister?" Mai muttered to herself. Nezu smiled sympathetically.

"Unfortunately, that's what anyone with that kind of quirk outside of Shibusen suffers. Most weapon quirks go there because they automatically get scholarships. Not just anyone can be a Meister; they need a... special compatibility. Shibusen is able to locate and carefully select 'future' Meisters compatible with its other students, so weapons are more likely to quickly find someone or several people compatible with them," Nezu explained.

Wow, interesting, who would have thought. I knew not just anyone could be a Meister, but I didn't know Shibusen had the ability to identify those people with such precision. I knew his resume was similar to the canonical one.

Shibusen had two departments, the NOT department and the EAT department. 10% of the student body was in EAT ( Especially Advantaged Talent), which was the course for heroes and hunters, while NOT ( Normally Overcome Target), was the non-combatant course, like general studies at UA, and 90% of the students were there.

Although NOT was non-combatant, there were a large number of people with weapon quirks in that department. Most simply joined Shibusen to learn how to better control and manage their quirk, simply to live comfortably and not be a danger by transforming completely randomly. Not everyone went to Shibusen to fight.

And most importantly, Shibusen was a high school; after all, it existed to teach them control over their Quirks. It wouldn't make sense if it were a university—it would be too late. Now, the EAT department was a very gray shadow. Shibusen was located in Nevada, USA, but it was almost entirely independent.

But even so, the EAT department had rules very similar to the PRT's Ward program when it came to dealing with villains and monsters, which basically boiled down to fighting weak thugs and monsters and running away from 'real' dangers.

"Fine, whatever, I'll take the hybrid option. There's no point in doing the exercises without Miyamura. I'm here as his weapon for the time being, and I don't want to repeat the first year. I don't need the hero classes either; Miyamura will take care of that," Mai said with a grimace. Nezu nodded.

"Perfect. While the paperwork is being processed, I'll get your new teachers up to speed. Then there are the dorms. Once again, we're making an exception, and you can be placed in one of the available rooms in the Class 1-A dorm. Miyamura will show you around... I'd better call Nemuri; she's in charge of the dorm," Nezu said matter-of-factly. I snorted dryly. Mai ignored him and nodded.

"If it's not too much trouble, I'll use the Class 1-A dorm tomorrow. Today... I have things to sort out with my sister." Mai said, frowning at Maki. Nezu simply nodded.

"Of course, there's no problem. But now, Miss Zenin." Nezu said, looking at Maki, who grimaced.

"Maki." she interrupted with a grimace, Nezu didn't even stop.

"Miss Maki, I understand you're looking for a place in the Hero and Hunter Course, right? You've been rejected several times in the past." Nezu said while looking at his tablet. Maki nodded.

"Yes, is there a problem?" I ask directly.

"No! None!" In fact, I'm looking forward to seeing what you're capable of! I wish you luck!" Nezu said cheerfully while smiling broadly, Maki blinked in confusion.

"But I thought that-" Maki tried to say, Nezu laughed amusedly.

"We will never waste those with potential, Young Maki. You are one of them, but unfortunately, the hero and hunter courses for your year are both full. Well, the current 2-A course is something special. Aizawa expelled them, re-enrolled them, and expelled them once more before re-enrolling them a second time, but they are full."

"Obviously, that wouldn't make it onto their final records because it would be a black mark on all of them, but Shota worked with them throughout the previous year to bring them up to his standards, and none of them were permanently expelled. Shota even enjoys the drama and even temporarily deletes their profiles from the official UA website, just to make it more realistic."

"He even deletes them at the beginning of the year to scare new recruits when he makes the same threat and they search through past records, so at the beginning of this year their profiles weren't listed!" Nezu said, shaking his head playfully. I blinked curiously.

Uh… that's interesting. I had checked those profiles at the beginning of the year to verify the 'truthfulness' of Aizawa's threats to expel us before we even entered UA. I even told the whole class that Aizawa had actually expelled everyone.

…Wait.

Does that mean Aizawa tricked me from the start?! I was completely outraged, and very impressed.

"So, unfortunately, both courses were full, which is why there wasn't a place for you despite your performance. And it's the same for you, Miss Zenin; we can't accept you into the hero course because there's no space available. And this year will be the same, but who knows, maybe you'll impress us teachers so much that we'll make an exception." Nezu said, his eyes shining. Maki's eyes flashed brightly.

"Just wait and see, Principal Nezu." Maki said with a wild smile, Nezu just laughed out loud.

"Very well, my students! You may leave. You will receive a message when everything is finished," said Principal Nezu with a simple nod. The three of us stood up immediately.

"Thank you, Principal Nezu." The three of us bowed slightly as he greeted us.

"It's no problem at all!" Nezu said cheerfully. "And Mr. Miyamura, here you go." Nezu said as he slid in a small rectangular piece of cardboard, a business card. I blinked and took it. On the card was a phone number.

"Shota told me you were thinking of asking Mirko for an internship, that's her number," Nezu said cheerfully, my eyes widening slightly. "Now, that's all the help I can give you, the rest is a matter of whether you can convince her to accept the internship yourself," Nezu said easily, and I nodded as I put the card away.

"Thank you, Principal Nezu." I said with a smile, and Nezu smiled back.

"Now, go and have a good night," Nezu said cheerfully. The three of us bowed once more and left the room. I glanced toward one of the windows and watched the sun set, almost completely dark. I nearly sighed. Between classes in the morning, going to the Zenin compound in the afternoon, chatting with the sisters at home, and then returning to the university to speak with Nezu directly, it had been a long day.

But a pretty productive day.

"Mirko? Are you going to do an internship with Mirko? " Mai asked with a grimace.

"She's a good choice. The number 5 pro hero is possibly one of the fastest and physically strongest pro- heroes, a master of hand-to-hand combat thanks to her quirk. There's a lot to learn," Maki said immediately. Mai snorted.

"I never said she wasn't strong, but it doesn't seem to be Miyamura's style at all," Mai retorted immediately.

"Diversification, the more you learn, the more options you have." Maki said, shrugging. Mai snorted mockingly.

"That didn't do you any good against us, did it?" Mai mocked, Maki's mouth trembling slightly. I chuckled.

"You're right, Mirko isn't usually my style." I intervened before she started arguing again. Mai looked smug as she glared at Maki, who just rolled her eyes. "Normally, but like I said, I have a rabbit summon. If you saw the Kamino fight, I can fuse with them. I wanted to see if I could take advantage of that fusion and learn something from Mirko." I said honestly. Now Maki mocked Mai, who clicked her tongue.

"Is it necessary? Isn't there a hero duo that's a Meister and a weapon? " Mai asked with a grimace, and I hummed softly.

"Not that I know of? But I'll find out, it's a good option too. It would be good to get some advice from a professional." I said simply, and Mai nodded contentedly. "But I don't want to take any risks either. The other reason I chose Mirko is so she wouldn't be influenced by who my grandfather, Ryuma, is."

"I'm going to the internship to learn, I don't need them to use me like a walking advertisement or try to win me over or anything," I said with a smile, Maki shuddered.

"Eugh, ass-kissers." Maki said, shuddering. Mai snorted amusedly.

"Yes, I suppose you're right. Will I do the internship with you? You said you start this week, right? I don't think I'll get my registration in time," Mai said, frowning.

"That's entirely up to you," I told her honestly. "You're my weapon now, officially and all, but I won't force you or use you for anything you don't want to do." I said honestly, and Mai nodded.

"I'll do it, don't worry. I... should I wear a costume? I had one in Shiketsu, but... maybe I'll need to change. I won't be fighting head-on anymore, so there are a lot of things I can take off." Mai said, wrinkling her nose. "Should we coordinate our costumes? I remember my public relations classes; hero duos usually have a similar theme and all that," Mai added.

"Oh, that would be nice, wouldn't it? My costume is a traditional kimono, mostly for women, so it would coordinate well with what you're wearing now. It's red, yellow, and black. If you want to coordinate colors or use those to blend in, that's fine. Or we can try something different." I said while looking at Mai.

"Fine, we'll talk about it tomorrow," Mai said contentedly before stopping. "Now, we'll have to split up. Maki and I... we have a lot to sort out." Mai said, sounding completely tense as she looked at her sister, who also tensed up, her jaw hardening as she nodded.

"Yes... Mai and I have a lot to talk about. Come on, little sister, I'll show you to my dorm." Maki said tensely. Mai just nodded. "See you tomorrow, Miyamura. Text me with the training schedule." Maki said before turning around and starting to walk away.

"See you... see you, Miyamura," Mai finally said before following her sister. I watched them both leave before sighing wearily. I really hoped they could work out whatever issues they had.

Now… now it was time to go back to my bedroom, I was dying of tiredness. Tomorrow I'll have to call Mirko and somehow try to convince her… yes, I wasn't expecting it in the slightest.
