Her body was not strong enough to brute-force it.
"Gao Jun," she said.
He had already moved toward her. "Yes?"
"Hold this section."
Gao Jun pressed two fingers against the metal plate where she indicated. Tang Li Yue adjusted the blade, inserted it at a sharper angle, and twisted.
The clasp snapped open. The woman gasped.
Tang Li Yue caught her wrist immediately. "Do not pull."
The blue sparks danced harder beneath the woman's skin. "I need my son."
"You will get him. But if you stand up and lose control, they will hear us from the other end of the depot."
The woman looked like she wanted to protest. Then she looked at the other detainees.
A young man sat against the wall with blood on his collar. Two teenagers huddled near the plastic partition. An older woman was tied to a metal chair with her head hanging forward. There was also a man near the corner, his wrists bound with cable ties and a cloth wrapped over his mouth.
