Tang Li Yue stood at the farmhouse gate with her arms folded over her chest, looking at the eastern road as though it had personally offended her ancestors.
To be fair, it had.
There were many terrible things in the apocalypse. Zombies were terrible. Mutant plants were terrible. People were often worse than both, which was saying a lot when one had witnessed a dead man attempt to chew through a wooden fence with half his jaw missing.
Then there was the chihuahua.
The chihuahua, with its corpse breath, blood obsession, and unreasonable confidence in its tiny body, had also earned a respectable place on Tang Li Yue's list of things she disliked.
However, corpse disposal was rapidly climbing toward the top.
